SteveR wrote: Does it require a response? She is bitter about her past, and it makes her feel better to slander the RCC and all the fine Christians that attend there. So? Hey... She is entitled to her flawed opinion Let me get this straight, - Johnny Y. uses Luther to justify his position because (apparently) JY thinks Luther speaks by inspiration of the Holy Spirit - JuneAnnette presents us with a Luther quote that tears JY’s argument to shreds - and this is your rejoinder? |

JuneAnnette wrote: “Unless with all your hearts you abandon the Papacy, you cannot save your souls. The reign of the Pope is so opposed to the law of Christ and the life of the Christian, that it will be safer to roam the desert and never see the face of man, than abide under the rule of Antichrist. I warn every man to look to his soul’s welfare, lest by submitting to the Pope he deny Christ. The time is come when Christians must choose between death here and death hereafter. For my own part, I choose death here. I cannot lay such a burden upon my soul as to hold my peace in this matter: I must look to the great reckoning. I abominate the Babylonian pest. As long as I live I will proclaim the truth. If the wholesale destruction of souls throughout Christendom cannot be prevented, at least I shall labour to the utmost of my power to rescue my own countrymen from the bottomless pit of perdition.” Martin Luther, December 11, 1520, Sermon at Wittenberg. Wylie. History of Protestantism, Book 6, Ch 2, p 296 Well, I don`t expect this to elicit an intelligent rejoinder from the Papists. |

John Yurich USA wrote: Everybody in that small Baptist Church I attend on Sunday morning was saved by asking Jesus to become their Savior and by trusting in Him alone for salvation. I have an Independent Baptist friend and he was saved when he was 12 years old during an Altar Call at his Independent Baptist Church by asking Jesus to become his Savior and by trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. It is not a work but is the Bible way of salvation. Don`t make the mistake of thinking that everyone attending a Baptist church is Biblically articulate or saved... even if they are a member. |

Unprofitable Servant wrote: That is interesting because they probably have a friend to the LBQT agenda in Trump. You will probably see posts here in SA saying, __ We told you he wasn't a conservative (he's not) He is no different than Hillary __ on some of the stuff he does. We really have no clue what a Trump presidency will be like. We just trust that God will work out all things for our good and His glory. Hey US,I was up in Jefferson City this past weekend for a wedding. It got me wondering how you are doing. I hope everything is well with you and your family. God bless! |

I will still remain on the membership roll of the local Catholic Church and attend on Saturday afternoon. And I will continue to attend that Evangelical Protestant Church on Sunday morning. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:21-24)Ah, John. (SMH) There's that pesky little word "must"... What to do? What to do? Well, you go ahead and worship him your way, and we'll worship Him His way. |

Mike wrote: … If Trump would also be God's judgment… Great question, Mike! Here's the way I see it: The fact that God has raised up two godless candidates is evidence of the surety of His judgement. Neither candidate will govern righteously. There would likely be some differences in policy, but I don't see either candidate swinging this country in the right direction. The continuation of God's judgement upon America might take a different form, but it would continue unabated either way.Another thought concerning the Supreme Court. Someone in this thread mentioned that some of the liberal judges would be retiring. What makes anyone believe that any of them will willingly step down if they believe their replacement will be a conservative? IF Trump is elected (big IF) and IF he will stand by his promise to appoint good judges (bigger IF), the only way the liberals will vacate the bench is if they die. Now consider Who is in charge of the day of our death - God. Yet, who is it that God has removed from the Court? Scalia - a conservative. Does that sound like God is preserving a conservative Court, or kicking the legs out from under it? I'm not pretending to know the mind of God. Just some thoughts and observations. God bless you, Bro. Mike. |

John UK wrote: If leadership in guv can achieve such an evil effect in eight years, how much more should Spirit-filled leadership in the church achieve a good and righteous effect. Twelve ordinary men turned the world upside down. Thanks for the perspective, Bro. John. It's so easy to be only negative in this hostile political world. |
