John Yurich USA wrote: I have to become monetarily wealthy in order to be able to purchase a ranch in Eastern Colorado in order not reside in the city. Residing on a ranch or farm is better because no noisy neighbors and it is peaceful and quiet residing in the country. I will learn to play the guitar and form my own Country Music/Country Gospel Band, get a recording contract and tour around the United States and Canada making the big bucks from the sale of the recordings on Vinyl Records, Cassette Tapes, 8 Track Tapes. And all the concerts will be filmed on 16MM movie film and copies made of the original 16MM films to be available for sale. Can you do a jazz album. Something like "Denver and the Mile High Orchestra"? That's something I might purchase. |

Mike wrote: I wonder what was unclear about the statement? Here is what we might find unclear- McCain says any who meet current medical standards should be allowed to continue to serve. Yet we read that the trans (so-called) gender types need special care because they are trans. Conclusion? They don't meet medical standards without special treatment. McCain is unclear. |

John UK wrote: Today's quiz Are you more saved this week than you were last week? Careful now. From Bro. M. David Miller:Salvation past tense - "I have been saved." - Deliverance from the penalty of sin - doctrine of justification Salvation present tense (ongoing) - "I am being saved." - Deliverance from the power of indwelling sin - doctrine of sanctification Salvation future tense - "I am yet to be saved." - Deliverance from the presence of sin - doctrine of glorification So to answer your question - no, yes, and not yet: No, I can't be more fully justified than I currently am. What can be done that would increase the value or efficacy of the sacrifice already made on my behalf? Yes, by God's grace I trust that He is sanctifying me and that I am becoming more like Him. Not yet, because my Lord has not yet returned to consummate what He has begun, though for that we eagerly await. Praise the Lord!!! |

Kenneth wrote: Rodney, have a nice day. Hey Kenneth,I re-read my last post to you, and I think I owe you an apology. I shouldn't have been so sarcastic. I DO appreciate your zeal, yet my heart aches for you. I wish we could sit down face to face for a long discussion. As Bro. Christopher said, there simply aren't enough letters allowed here to say things properly. Again, sorry I was rude and abrupt. God bless. Rodney |

Kenneth wrote: I have followed Jesus Christ the Lord for a long time, and will continue I wasn't trying to question your salvation. That's not my job. However, I am questioning your statement, "People are accepting Jesus Christ and mean it!" Because:1. Nowhere does the Bible talk of "accepting Christ". Jesus isn't a hopeful god, anxiously waiting to see if someone will sincerely let him into their heart. He is a great and sovereign Lord who effectually calls His own sheep and draws them unto Himself. 2. You can't possibly know if those folks truly "mean it". Remember the parable of the sower. There were some who initially received the word with joy, but they did not continue (Mt 13:20). So while we rejoice when someone makes a profession of faith, we can't pronounce them saved before their lives have begun to bear fruit. As far as the tongues go, I guess your experience trumps history. I just can't understand why God allowed His church to go for 1,900 years or so without such an important thing. BTW, have you been handling any snakes or drinking any poison lately? |

Kenneth,You seem to have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. I'm glad you went to 1 Cor. 15 for the gospel, but there is much in your posts that gives me pause. Let me start by saying that God is not "cool". He's holy. That means He's unlike anything or anyone else. He's in a class by himself. Let's use language about Him that demonstrates our awe and wonder. Cars are cool. Clothes may be cool. God transcends such mundane language. Next, let me beg you to re-examine the history of what is commonly called tongues. It didn't exist in Christian circles 125 years ago. It WAS practiced by Hinduism and other pagan religions. Also concerning to me is your statement that a man was saved after hearing of someone being healed of sleep problems. Belief in a miracle doesn't equate with belief in the gospel. Belief in a miracle won't change anyone's heart. Belief in the gospel will, because true belief in the gospel will ALWAYS be accompanied by true and perpetual repentance. This brings me to my next point: How do you know that people are "accepting Jesus Christ and mean it"? Give it a year. If they are still walking with Jesus, if they are growing and "pressing toward the mark", there is a good chance their salvation was real. But don't make such claims too early |

My dad is about as arminian as they come, but he is the one who introduced me to Albert Martin & Paul Washer. I am so grateful he did. God bless you, Sis. Saint Ladybug! |

John UK wrote: Yes exactly. But it sure requires every member to be walking very closely to the Lord, to pick up on what he might wish to speak to the group for edifying and change. I think this is one reason why the mode is shunned in favour of the prepared sermon, which is often a "series" on a particular book of the Bible, not necessarily relevant to a current situation. Besides, the Bible can be taught by teachers, even when they are far away from God. This takes it into the realm of knowledge without any spiritual input from the Almighty. The big question is, "Who is running the meetings?" The solution is not to move to an informal setting where everyone has something to say. The solution is verse by verse exposition of Scripture by a man called of God to pastor His flock. You say that the congregation needs to pick up on what He might wish to speak. Brother, exposition of the Bible IS God speaking to the church. As far as it not being relevant to current situations, I believe the Holy Spirit is able to order people's lives in such a way that the Word they hear from verse by verse preaching is EXACTLY what they need to hear. I have found it to be the case experientially. It also means that no topic goes uncovered or is taught unproportionate |
