Frank wrote: Thanks brother and I am continuing to pray for your "loved" one! I am doing fine except for the normal aging issues. Jim is simply a liberal troll with an agenda and when cornered by the truth, he usually ignores it or posts some silly link. In other words, his ignorance is intentional. But, I think I will add the Exodus verses to my meditation. They are easy to discount, as is his death of the mother mantra, but if they confuse some, then I will note them. Jim is actually building an abortion doctrine based on some Rabbinical interpretation at the expense of all the other scriptures that pertain to the unborn. Amazing. I wonder if Jim has considered that the passage is about a "woman with child" - not a "woman with fetus".Matthew Henry regarding Exodus 21:22-23 - "Observe here, I. The particular care which the law took of women with child, that no hurt should be done them which might occasion their mis-carrying." Notice the plural "them" and "their" - refering to both mother and child. So simple. Thanks for your prayers, Bro. |

Frank wrote: Jim from Lincoln.... ...I wrote a meditation on abortion. Although I am not a conservative Jew, you might find it helpful. And an excellent meditation it is!Jim, you should avail yourself of this resource. It references actual Bible verses, rather than links to websites. Most of us here prefer that sort of authentication. We find that God's word is life-giving. (Hmmm... a meditation on the sanctity of life grounded in the Word of Life. Sounds like a good idea to me.) G'Day dear Bro. Frank. I pray you are doing well! |

John UK wrote: ..I take the gospel indiscriminately to all men, telling them the good news of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants me to do, and every Christian. “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” - C. H. Spurgeon |

Christopher000 wrote: Thanks Rodney. This was the first time over the years that I was able to have any of the kids alone to speak with. Normally, if I try to say anything at all, even about the condemnation of sodomites, etc, etc, I get shut down right away by the parents or grandparents. Heaven forbid anyone gets their truth from God's Word,so I always get shut down according to what they, themselves feel is right and wrong, so it was real nice to get them alone. They were receptive, understanding, curious, and asked followup questions. I only wish the drive had been longer. : ) God gave you a window of opportunity. He can take the seed you've planted and cause it to germinate. If He stirs their hearts, you can be sure that they will seek you out. |

Cobbler wrote: Oh come off it. Nobody really believes in that myth do they. There is nothing in history which suggests that anybody should celebrate a god coming to earth is there. Just ask anybody on this board nobody here believes in that old story. Au Contraire! In fact most of us here not only believe it, we glory in it. For in truth, God took on human flesh, lived a perfect, sinless life, died an agonizing death on the cross as our sin-bearer, was buried in a borrowed tomb, rose to life the third day, ascended to heaven where he now rules and reigns making intercession for His saints. It is a most glorious, encouraging, salvic story. It is a story we intend to sing about through the eternal ages to come. |

Jesus' birth can be an excellent starting point to present the cross. The incarnation presents a monumental question - Why? Why did Jesus leave heaven? Why did He come as a man? These questions only find their answer in the cross.I might add, that the story did not stop at the cross. Jesus was buried, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to heaven where He intercedes for His beloved. His first coming makes us long for His second coming. Sure, the incarnation doesn't tell the entire gospel story, but try to fully explain the cross (or the resurrection, ascension, etc.) without addressing the incarnation (Christ's deity). Without the incarnation, redemption's story is ludicrous. Bottom line - the gospel can be preached from Luke 2 as easily as it can from Romans 3, Ephesians 2, or any other passage. |

Mike wrote: From the news: "This group purports to be a group that wants religion removed from public places … but then they're using an inflammatory religious symbol to make their point," said the Rev. Andrew Sherman of St. Gregory's Episcopal Church. "That feels both hypocritical and frankly shameful to us." An Episcopalian says "That feels both hypocritical..." A believer would say "That is both hypocritical..." Great observation, Bro. Mike. |
