(TMC) @Shane “"You should not be able to see it. What you see in the picture is a mirage." Lol.” It is known as a “Superior Mirage” and it is quite common. The article I linked to earlier has the physics and math equations that cause the phenomenon as well as pictures taken without a fisheye lens that prove it to be a mirage. “Big bang, Extra terrestrial life, Mormonism, Ufo cults, Evolution, etc.” One thing is certain- even if the earth was flat and it was commonly known, these groups would still believe what they do. They would simply come up with some reason for why life evolved (or was created in this universe) that way. Fallen men have already been given all the evidence for God that they need (Romans 12:20). However, they so want to be their own authority that no amount of evidence alone can convince them. Their hearts are the problem- not their minds. It’s rather like the story of the man who thought he was dead. His doctor asked him if dead men bleed, to which he replied “No, of course not.” The doctor proceeded to prick the man’s finger and as the blood slowly driped out, the man exclaimed, “Look at that! Dead men do bleed!!” |

(TMC) @Watcher “I come from a family that stated emphatically that because I came from a religious household, that I was saved too.” Could it be, perhaps, that your past circumstance is affecting your view of this? God works differently in different people’s hearts- for instance, John Bunyan describes a years long, gradual process of grace in his book “Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners”. I come from a Bible saturated childhood, and I seriously don’t remember not loving Jesus or wanting to learn more about the Bible. I have a shadowy, but sweet, memory of the delight I had when I realized I could have Jesus come live in my heart and praying with my Mom at a Sunday School event. However, because it is such an early memory, I can’t pinpoint exactly when it was or in what order it relates to some of my other memories. Also, your assertion that every Christian “can point to a time when God saved him.” lacks Scriptural support as an evidence or assurance of Salvation. Jesus did not say that we would be known by our dates, nor is such an idea presented anywhere else as an evidence. Ongoing, continual, sanctification, is a far more biblical gage then a dramatic, memorable, conversion alone. |

(TMC) @Christopher000 Yes, “Good riddance” is my sentiment exactly! I’ve heard he further told the elder that every church he’s prayed a curse on has disbanded shortly thereafter- so he may be rather disappointed to see us gathering right down from his house again at the end of this month! |

(TMC) @Christopher000 You’re welcome! We like Young Living oils, but I’ve heard good things about Doterra! In addition to the oils, I find it amazing how many everyday “weeds” such as Plantain, Chickory, Dandelion, Nettle, Burdock, and Common Mallow are not only edible, but nutrient-packed and medicinal! Their uses seem to have been commonly known a few generations back, but now-a-days one must sort through a whole bunch of pagan mumbo jumbo to find out about them. Though then again, some of the old-time “remedies” we now know were either completly useless or downright dangerous- so caution and research are a must to avoid catastrophy! |

(TMC) @Jim Lincoln Prohibition: An attempt by “Christians” and non-Christians to use the State to enforce an un-biblical form of “morality” that would have criminalized Jesus. Criminalizing All Murder: The basic God-given responsibility of ALL human governments. “Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” ~Genesis 9:6 “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.” ~Romans 13:3-4 Making something against the law does not prevent all people from breaking the law- nor does it change the hearts of law-breakers. It does, however, provide a practical check as a “terror” to evil works. When govenment applauds, instead of revenging evil, then the basic functioning of society becomes perverted. Why, in your view, should there be any laws (aka-moral impositions) against any sinfull impulses of fallen human hearts? |

2Tim 3:16) Hi Kev, Yes Christ fullfilled the law and what is more, as part of what he has promised in the new covenant(Jer 31:33, Eze 36:26-27), he is actively writing it on our hearts and bringing us to closer conformity to his standard of righteousness, the moral law. Parts of the law such as the laws of separation, sacrificial, and ceremonial laws have passed away and have no more applicability to Christians. However the moral judments of God must stand forever due to the nature of God and the testimony of scripture (Mal 3:6, Ps111:7-8, Ps 89:34, Ps 119:160). This is why the moral law of God is still valid as a standard of righteousness, and for convincing of sin(1John 3:4 Rom 7:7, 3:20). @Lurker, the law of God is the whole body of stated truths both OT and NT concerning and defining good, evil, justice, and injustice. There are no grounds to selectively make law in (Jer 31:33, ect.) be anything other than the holy, just, righteous, and eternal law of God. Unfortunately I’ve got to go. I’m helping prep for my Dad’s back surgery which is tomorrow and I may not be able to drop back in. Blessings! |
