Jim Lincoln wrote: Catholicism falls into the everything else category, I very much doubt that that was what Luther meant, no matter what Pope Ankerberg might think. |

jago wrote: How are the teachers in islamic schools reacting? Surely they will have to teach Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism etc as well. Where will it end? I'm sure that, in their case, an exception will be made. |

Jim Lincoln wrote: ]]Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No. Pope Ankerberg must be wilfully blind. He studies the Truth and yet rejects it. |

just a thought wrote: lance can you produce these works? Where do they originate, and what kind of works are you speaking of? Holding open doors? Letting someone go before you in the check out line? Do works like this count, why or why not? Yes, such works, small as they are, do count. But you'll find a list of examples in Matt. 25:35–40 – feeding the hungry, giving shelter to the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned. ... as long as you do these thing for the glory of God, of course. |

just a thought wrote: The BIBLICAL view, which is the only view that matters, is that works are a result of salvation. They stem from a regenerate heart, Then whatever way you look at it, it seems that works are essential. |

Jim Lincoln wrote: they are just following in the footsteps of the "Catholic-lite" Church, the Episcopalian one,.... What so surprising when Catholic Churches have ultra-liberal beliefs, q.v., ]]Archbishop stands firm on sacking Brisbane priest. Some parts of the Anglican Church are getting "Catholic-heavy". The TAC (Traditional Anglican Commmunion) is negotiation with Rome to cross the Tiber en masse (on Mass?), retaining their own clergy and customs. And on the matter of the Brisbane priest, it is appalling that the bishop has allowed the situation to develop, when he could have nipped it in the bud ten years ago. If I were advising him, I'd tell him to lock the doors of that church, as he can be sure that no believing Catholic attends it. |

GK wrote: well Lance, let's look at this logically Roman Catholics and moslems "worship the same god" according to your pope in the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, there is an inscription on a pillar which says "god does not have a son" ok,this throws up 2,no, 3 inescapable conclusions..... 1.RC's and moslems worship a god which does not have a son 2.your pope is wildly mistaken and in error 3.all of the above Well then, it looks like the RCC is going to have to throw out all those prayers to the Trinity – the Sign of the Cross, the Creed, the Glory be to the Father, and so many others. In fact, it's just going to have to revise its whole theology. And if Jesus isn't the Son of God, even the Mass will have to go. |
