Lance~ one day you will realize that, the bible was indeed the final and only authority,
According to whom? Martin Luther?

And GK, your comment "Roman priests have to keep crucifying him every day" is right off the mark. Jesus was crucified once. There was only one sacrifice.

No priest can sacrifice him. The one original sacrifice continues till the end of the world at every Mass, regardless of the worthiness or unworthiness of the priest.

Pope Ankerberg must be wilfully blind. He studies the Truth and yet rejects it.

Lyn, one day you will realize that, were it not for the constant Masses being said, a continuous re-offering of the One Sacrifice, you would not have been saved.

And Michael, many people need time off for stress. A nun is just as human as the next person.

I'm sure they would, Lyn.

The RCC is a church for sinners. Unfortunately, not all those sinners, even priests and nuns amongst them, wish to repent of their sins. They are "bad fruit" because they have cut themselves off from the tree.

For those who do wish to repent, the RCC provides boundless graces through the Mass and sacraments.

Actually, Ma Teresa and her gang were a scandal, for that matter. ]]Hell’s Puppet Beatified: The Unseen Hands Behind Mother Teresa Of Calcutta. Lance, I think we should have some folks that Ian Paisley should appoint to check into this.
As I said, any investigation shouldn't be made by atheists. It is most curious that in this article, Dr Gillis is relying for his information on the testimony of atheists.

But then, I'm not really surprised.

Do you have evidence to back that up, Lance?
Well actually, Neil, no – if you mean do I have evidence that she is a fraud like Maria Monk?

If her accusations are likely to be true, then they ought to be investigated. But preferably not by atheists, radical Hindus, or others with an axe to grind.

lance can you produce these works? Where do they originate, and what kind of works are you speaking of? Holding open doors? Letting someone go before you in the check out line? Do works like this count, why or why not?
Yes, such works, small as they are, do count.

But you'll find a list of examples in Matt. 25:35–40 – feeding the hungry, giving shelter to the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned.

... as long as you do these thing for the glory of God, of course.

The BIBLICAL view, which is the only view that matters, is that works are a result of salvation. They stem from a regenerate heart,

Salvation comes down to whether you believe Christ did it all, or He didn’t.
I believe the traditional Protestant view is that, if you don't do works, it shows that you don't have faith.

The traditional Catholic view is that your works add nothing to what Christ did, but they draw grace from what he did.

It's true, Jim, agreement but not harmony.

While I may say that JY ought to leave the Catholic Church if he doesn't believe its teachings, I really hope that he will recognize that all its teachings, including those on purgatory, are true... in fact, that the teachings of the Catholic Church are Truth itself.

they are just following in the footsteps of the "Catholic-lite" Church, the Episcopalian one,....
What so surprising when Catholic Churches have ultra-liberal beliefs, q.v., ]]Archbishop stands firm on sacking Brisbane priest.
Some parts of the Anglican Church are getting "Catholic-heavy". The TAC (Traditional Anglican Commmunion) is negotiation with Rome to cross the Tiber en masse (on Mass?), retaining their own clergy and customs.

And on the matter of the Brisbane priest, it is appalling that the bishop has allowed the situation to develop, when he could have nipped it in the bud ten years ago. If I were advising him, I'd tell him to lock the doors of that church, as he can be sure that no believing Catholic attends it.

well Lance, let's look at this logically
Roman Catholics and moslems "worship the same god" according to your pope
in the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, there is an inscription on a pillar which says "god does not have a son"
ok,this throws up 2,no, 3 inescapable conclusions.....
1.RC's and moslems worship a god which does not have a son
2.your pope is wildly mistaken and in error
3.all of the above
Well then, it looks like the RCC is going to have to throw out all those prayers to the Trinity – the Sign of the Cross, the Creed, the Glory be to the Father, and so many others.

In fact, it's just going to have to revise its whole theology. And if Jesus isn't the Son of God, even the Mass will have to go.
