You're always saying that, Jim. If you consider yourself a Christian, you ought to consider entering the Catholic Church (even if Pastor Gil Rugh disapproves).

I believe Mary was a teenager when she had Jesus.

I suppose that is what Pastor Mike is really aiming at.

Wikipedia has a biography of Larry Flynt.

"Interesting" probably sums it up.

Alan H wrote:
For us novices, could you please explain the term "genuflect"?
It means to lower yourself onto one knee as a sign of reverence.

If the Sacrament is not in the tabernacle, but exposed to view, then one does a "double genuflection", going down on both knees.

And Michael, they don't bow down to "it" and worship "it", they bow down to Him (Jesus) and worship Him.

If I were a Catholic, I would be wondering why prenatal child-killing on demand is still legal in the US since the Catholic church reportedly has a majority in Congress.
Nothing to wonder about. Most RC members of Congress would be like their fellow US Catholics; they rarely darken the door of a church. They are more concerned about their political careers than their religion.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church
Officially Approved by Pope John Paul II
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, AND TOGETHER WITH US they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
clearly claims you and they worship the same god, it does NOT say as you claim they intend to worship the same god you do.
Yes, but it does not say that Allah is God, for the simple reason that Allah, not being a Trinity, is not a true representation of God.

In RC belief (as in your own, I think), God is a Trinity, and any other representation of God is incomplete.

CCC 841 tells us that Catholics and Muslims worship the same god. Since Jesus Christ our Creator is NOT and in NO WAY COULD EVER BE Allah and since Allah has NO SON the god that Catholics and Muslims both worship must be a FALSE GOD even though RC claim it is the same God.
The RCC has no interest in defining Allah. It says that Muslims worship the same God (CCC 841), it doesn't say that Allah is God.

There's a difference. No matter what "Allah" is, Muslims intend to worship the One God, and thus they are in fact worshipping the One God.

No matter how badly you need to discredit the RCC, this is the wrong argument to choose.

On the contrary, Jim, the "Popish Church" has always taught that homosexual behaviour is a deadly sin.

Protestants, on the other hand, have a vast range of options on this subject, ranging from outright condemnation to the conducting of gay "marriages" in their churches.

It's amazing how some people are so consumed by their hatred for the Catholic Church, that no matter what the subject of the news item, they manage to find in it an excuse to attack Catholicism.

The risk with such obsessive hatred is that, when you come to the end of this life, the hatred may continue into the next.

No a man doesn't have to become a priest, but the evil of it and its lifestyle is held up as a "good" in the Romanish Church,
Tell that to St Paul.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
Lance, how does John MacArthur twist the truth in The Scandal of the Catholic Priesthood[/URL]?

Lance, I can put another question to you, while it can be said that a man in religious leadership can remain celebrate, though being told that he has to be, of course is satanic,

This is utter nonsense for women, saying they are "married to Christ" when they become nuns.

He says, for example, that priests target young women in the confessional, suggesting they become nuns. How does he know this? The woman might raise the matter, but the priest is very unlikely to do it.

And again: men know that the priesthood involves celibacy. If they don't want celibacy, they don't become priests. No one is forced. And seminarians have about seven years in which to make up their minds. If they don't know after seven years, they'll never know.

And "married to Christ" is self-evidently metaphorical and spiritual. Nuns devote their entire lives to Christ instead of to a husband and family. I think there is nothing wrong with that. Even some laymen and -women do it – dare I say, Protestants amongst them.

This man appears to be aware of the truth, yet he twists it and rejects it. That is the real scandal; and he preaches it from the pulpit.

Since celibacy forces and unnatural state for many men, and perhaps you can say all women who are nuns, except those who are too old or infertile, I would have to say the unnatural status that the Popish church forces on these people makes the article look hypocritical.
There you go again Jim.

Celibacy in the RCC is voluntary. If you don't want it (and most don't), then you don't choose a calling that involves celibacy. Simple.

Of course, there are those whose physical or psychological condition makes marriage impossible, but that is a different matter.

Lance, will you be sharing this bread and wine with your new found Muslim friends? What god will you reference this bread and wine to? Allah? The pope? The idolatrous Mary?
It is not permitted to share it with unbelievers.

Orthodox Christians may receive if they do not have access to one of their own priests. Under rare and exceptional conditions Protestants may receive. But Muslims, and anyone else, never.

The reference, of course, is to Jesus, since it is his body, blood, soul and divinity.
