Allie, Frank, and SF from TX -

Would to God we had more pastors that called sin what it is--sin! There are several on SA that do this, and I listen to them often, because they are so rare. I could never go back to listening to mainstream "Christian" radio.

I think part of the reason no one thinks fornication (some people probably have never heard that word!) is a sin or even a big deal any more is because pastors hardly ever preach against it. Hard preaching was used of the Lord in times past to put the fear of God in people and generate genuine revivals, producing repentance evidencing salvation.

The apostle Paul warned us in I Timothy 5 of the dangers to which women are susceptible when not in the home, such as being idle, becoming busybodies, going from house to house speaking things they ought not, etc. This is not a comprehensive list.

Frank's comment about women needing to be led and protected rather than leading and protecting reflects the female's weaker vessel nature (I Peter 3), given by God. That suits for nurturing, mothering, and being a keeper at home. A woman in the military is subject to innumerable risks and dangers.

Galatians 6:7 - "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

Psalm 14:1 - "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

May the Lord turn them from their wicked way before it is too late.

It's sad to me that quite a few married couples seem to go out of their way to either avoid having children altogether, or they limit the size of their families through birth control. Why would Christians, of all people, not want an heritage and a reward from the Lord? Have we succumbed to coveteousness and materialism, preferring things over people and disobeying the Bible? God help us.

Yes, this is a very important thing to point out. Everyone's beliefs are based on something, whether the Bible or one's own version of "morality."

Sorry FG, but a woman should not be leading the way in our society, whether it is a Christian endeavor or a secular endeavor. When they are standing in the forefront, then our minds translates that into normality. IOW, women as leaders become the norm and once that occurs most of us have a hard time disassociating women being leaders from women being wives and mothers.

...

Come Lord Jesus, come

Well said, as per usual, sir.

Interestingly, this pop singer seems to have a better grasp on this issue than many professing Christians do. I've seen comments from men on various web sites that speak of the difficulty they have focusing on Christ when women attend church in very revealing clothes. Since I'm female, I can't totally understand that struggle, but I certainly wouldn't want to be the cause of it. From a Biblical perspective, nakedness has a much broader definition than it does in this wicked culture.

“ Great Sermon! ”
God is certainly able to effectively and boldly use those who are unlearned, un-degreed, and inarticulate to preach the word! I've been challenged to repentance personally by such ministers. Sometimes I recognize when they mispronounce a word, but the Lord still enables me to know what they are saying. Many good points were made in this sermon. I will be listening again. God's blessings upon the ministry of Old Paths Baptist Church!

“ Great Message! ”
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). Thank you for reminding young men--and all of us--to focus on what is really most important.

That's what most people think marriage is about, also. When the fun and fulfillment stops, it's time to call the divorce attorney. Never mind what saith the Scriptures.

Thank you for preaching Biblically on a subject most pastors won't touch with a 10 foot pole. The Lord has brought me to repentance on this matter, also. I pray for and thank God for this ministry! May the Lord continue to mightily and greatly use you and bless you.

So, these celebrities think the decriminalization of prostitution would be a bad move, but they're OK with fornication, adultery, sodomy, and other abominations and perversions, which are often depicted in the very films they act in, and prostitution is probably often in these same films?

I couldn't care less what these inconsistent "stars" think. My concern lies with what thus saith the Lord.

What's funny is some people who have those 'Honk if you love Jesus" bumper stickers plastered on the rear ends of their cars. I think after a while they forget they're there, or forget what each one says because they have so many others, so when you honk, they stick their arm out the window and give you the bird.
Oh my! I guess if someone is going to have one of those bumper stickers on his car, he'd better make sure he remembers it's there!

I've always thought those types of bumper stickers were somewhat silly at best and a bit irreverent at worst. A verbal witness should be buttressed by one's life; otherwise, one can lose credibility with those outside of Christ.

I think this is great news. There are a couple of broadcasters that the Lord is moving me to support. They've been challenging to me personally, but a blessing. I'm grateful for this feature and to God for SermonAudio!

“ Solemn, Sobering, and Necessary! ”
Thank God for this type of preaching! I became a listener of rock music in the early '80s. I idolized it; it truly is like a drug. As the decade progressed, I was increasingly weighed down with heaviness and despair. By the decade's end, I was hospitalized for depression and on anti-depressants. This music is devilish and my listening to it drove me to this low point. Thankfully, the Lord preserved my physical life. About six years after that, He saved me and one of the first things I did was get rid of the compact discs, cassettes, albums, and VHS cassettes. Still, I'm haunted by memories to this day and when I go out in public, that wicked music is everywhere! In the Lord's strength, I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (II Cor. 10:5) and think on these things which I should (Phil. 4:8). I pray that my mind would be stayed upon the Lord. Keep yielding yourself to the Lord and letting Him use you to preach these kinds of sermons. May God be praised!
