Mike thinks he's being logical.

The Bible is a literary masterpiece Mike.

But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction 2Peter2:1

Amen, hath spoken.

Lurker: "It must be concluded, then, that even though he has heard and read about the power of God unto salvation, God has chosen, at least up to this time, to not open his eyes, his ears or give him a heart to perceive. That is, unless you are a synergist in which case your appeal would be just as effective if made to the pope."

I am not appealing to Pastor Mike. His alleged degree is irrelevant. Pastor Mike doesn't believe a single thing of what he says. He makes most of it up out of his fertile imagination.
Pastor Mike thinks he can pretend to create truth and then he says 'it is' the truth. My truth is good.
No. Im not a synergist. I'm a witness against all this nonsense.

Mike. If you really believed what you seem to be preaching, why are you here?
The universe, being created from no-one and coming from nothing could probably randomly and in error implode in the next 3 secs.
This would most likely cause another big bang resulting in a completely different species who have absolutely no knowledge of you.
But you don't believe that could happen do you?
You need to read back over your posts and observe the number of times you fill in the gaps with your positive imagination. You are like a man hopping from one insecure rock to another incase you fall into a world you haven't made yourself.

If you believe what you say you believe then thats all well and good. We die and feed the worms and someone grows their cabbages in us.
But if there is a God then you don't know anything about Him. Wouldn't it make more sense to get to know about God before the inevitable, no matter what we believe, happens? Death.
If you are correct, no harm done If you're wrong, well .. it would be embarrassing don't you think?
Either way there is no harm done the Christian who believes God.

And does a lamp light itself?

I met a pedantically tidy paedophile once.
If humans were half as good and altruistic as you claim who is making war?
What is committing murder?
Where do lies come from?
Why are people offended?
Is it the universe offending them?

You would rather, as the Bible predicts, believe in the religion of 'Super Man' ... a kind of Apollos and Cybele with cellphones.

There is no way of escaping the planet other than death Mike and space travellers still die.

"Humanity is really the best hope life on Earth has when that day comes" you say.

Where is your evidence to support this statement?

Humans are evil, controlling, greedy, selfish, ignorant, arrogant, manipulitive, envious, cunning, decietful, abusive. Evil characters are littered throughout history, Nero, The Herods, Mao, etc ..

You want to deny the presence of evil. There is no escape. Evil can go with us to another planet. Evil follows us around because WE are the problem. The evil comes from us Mike, not the out-of-control universe.

The cure for evil is death.

This is why Jesus died and yet lived again. He is the only man ever to step foot on the earth who wasn't evil. Death had no hold on him. That is how He can offer you an escape.

You want to try other escape routes first. But we're running out of time to solve the worlds problems and scientists just keep make excuses, like priests, for their 'mistakes'.
You are a religious man Mike, or you wouldn't be able to be understood on this site.

"The world is broken and only we can fix it." Mike.

Who broke it?

I am so glad men will never be able to 'take control' of nature. Human 'control' seems to be the root of the problem.
A cure for aging? This motif is found in quite a lot of myths and legends and fictious writings. Is there anything at all that doesn't age? Even the sun is aging Mike. What would be the point of eternal life on earth if everything else carried on aging?

Psalm 37: Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice in the noon day.

Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. CEASE from ANGER and forsake WRATH. Do not fret it only causes harm.

For evil doers shall be cut off, but those who wait on the Lord shall inherit the earth and shall delight thenmselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked plots against the just and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him. For He sees that HIS day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart and their bows shall be broken.

.... for the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. ... they shall not be ashamed in the evil time and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. But the wicked shall perish and the enemies of the Lord like the splendor of the meadows shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.

O my soul, o my soul!
I am pained in my heart!
My heart makes a noise in me;
I cannot hold my peace,
Because you have heard, O my soul
The sound of the trumpet,
The alarm of war.
Destruction upon destruction is cried
For the whole land is plundered
And my curtains in a moment
How long will I see the standard
And hear the sound of the trumpet?
For My people are foolish
They have not known Me
They are silly children
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil
But to do good they have no knowledge.

... Jeremiah not being very polite.

Dear Micheal,
That is all well and good ...

I think you will notice three main points to my posts
1. Peace.
2. Let your own conscience guide your actions. Don't be other peoples conscience by using scripture to IMPLY God has commanded OTHERS to (fill in the blank)over matters that are NOT BLACK and WHITE in scripture but rely on taking a piece of scripture and making it FIT your OPINION. For indeed there is no COMMAND to CHRISTIANS at this time to REBEL against the law in their RESPECTIVE countries.

3. Don't use the Word of God to incite rebellion.

Dear Angela, do please forgive me for my misunderstanding. These things are bound to happen.

I agree though, you can't wait for all those useless churches to be of any help in evangelising the poor sinner.
But do try to think deeply about that.

I mingle with sinners - like Christ did - I don't talk AT them with microphones in the street.

To be perfectly honest I don't think any of you really care about what happens to other human beings on this planet, the only thing you seem to care about is being right and your supposed rights - but you don't pay too much attention to the rights of others.
Using the bible to make it seem as if you care, when in fact all you care about are your rights, is sinful.

So you haven't actually hit the streets yet Angela? I hope you do.

As you say John, Christian's have been fast asleep. Today they wake, but only because their rights are being infringed, and rush at the problems declaring their rights - based on scripture of course.
As for the violin sonata John ..
People have been dying in your country and Angela's country for hundreds of years without Christ.
Where were the preachers then?

At no time has anyone said 'Christian's shouldn't share the gospel with others' madam.
The subject is: whether Christian's have a RIGHT to disregard laws in an effort to share the gospel.
But more specifically whether they can use the Word of God to justify their claims.

Could you be more specific John? There are not 300,000 church leaders advocating you disobey law. Names would be helpful.

The people preaching on Bourban St are not breaking any of Gods laws, they are being foolish. THey are breaking your own countries laws.

It is not written that the area where Paul was preaching had a church on every street corner and had been Christian since the birth.
Acts and modern day America have nothing in common. Phrygia?

You just want matyrs to restore your 'great' name .. as it is written .. a woman sitting on a beast with a cup full of blood, glorifying in the blood of the saints?

Paul says the law is put in place by God. The arm of the law, the police, are there to keep the peace and to make sure the law is obeyed. It's their job.

It's strange to see how you pick and choose - placing more value on one piece of scripture but ignoring the rest.

You should read Daniel - Chapter 8:23-27? Do you know anyone like that?
I think you guys might be in the wrong time zone.

The POINT is that these people don't want you to preach on Bourbon STreet after dark and YOU are saying it is Biblical to FORCE a show-down.

WHAT do your own ministers and preachers say? Am I to believe you are being told on Sunday mornings in America to defy laws?

Are there any teachers on this site who can confirm or deny this?

John UK: The man in New Orleans yelling at drunks and drug addicts and gay people and others is not Noah.

Angela: How many churches do you have in your country? If someone stood in front of your church with a megaphone yelling pagan messages, so you couldn't hear the preacher, would you call the police?

Please keep things in perspective. There are plenty of places in America where people know they can go and hear the Word of God. Hey .. they can even go on the net.

You know it's an evil world when Christian's are shamed for advising others to keep the peace.

You use Noah to justify preaching in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.
I mentioned Noah to illustrate the times.

If you want to believe Noah was sent by God to preach to the city, then make sure you do what scripture tells you you should be doing, rather than telling others what God says they should or shouldn't be doing based on your interpretation of scripture.

What I am saying is this: It wouldn't be wise to use scripture to incite rebellion. Unless of course you claim your God has commanded you to do this. Then by all means go about your business - but do it quickly.
