You appear to be obsessed with Catholicism. Is that healthy, life-giving religion?

Catholicism is powerless and not worthy of much consideration. Sometimes the thing we fear turns out to be nothing.

You do give such 'life' to the old man.

Angela - I hope I have this right. You think that America is under Gods judgement because of the apostate churches and that there needs to be national repentance and covenanting.

Can you show with scripture where the prophets or apostles warned Christian's after Pentecost of Gods judgement on the churches?

How do you plan to convince unbelievers that the gospel is the only option? The Church has been working now for over 2000 years at this task. Many seem to have fallen away.

If you do manage to convince enough people to repent in your nation so as to cause national repentance and God doesn't remove the judgements ... ? What then?

How does this prophetic word leave other Christians outside of America?
Are all Christian's included in this judgement or just American Christian's?

How will you convince apostate churches they are apostate? - none will admit error.

God does not favour some Christians over others dear. American Christian's are not the apple of His eye. Will you repent? Thats how difficult your task is.

"No-one seems interested in actually obeying the Lord, or discussing the sermon after the meeting."

Perhaps a sermon on Matt 23 would be in order, so that no one can plead innocence on judgement day.

Mmmm, roast. Lamb .. my favourite, with plenty of gravy AND mint sauce.

Well I think if you read previous posts that is the whole context.
But I was more refering to how that might persist today in Christian circles.
I used the example of the homosexual fiasco. I know it's difficult for you, but I wasn't giving my vote for either the sin of homosexuality or the sin of negligence to obey the greatest commandment. I was putting them side by side as being 'sin'. I was also pointing out that the sin against the greatest commandment is not considered an abomination worthy of Gods wrath, seemingly.
This seems to have caused a lot of confusion.

Actually Micheal no offense, but this 'discussion' was about Pharisee's and hypocrisy. Matt23. and Christian's negligence of making any fuss over those kinds of sins while making a big fuss of some other kinds of sin. Homosexuality for instance. Freedom of speech for instance.
There appears to be form of knowledge on this site without understanding.

A pharisee would want to nail you down for saying "yet you NEVER mention the violation of the greatest commandment, you do not HATE (the sin of - my edit) those amongst you who fail to LOVE the LORD your God with all their heart .." Surely you might have given me a little credit?
But what you have done is ignore the content for the 'offense'.

Matt:22:37. Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it:You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

Matt 23 The scribes and pharisees sit in Moses seat.
23 they bind heavy burdens hard to bear and lay them on mens shoulders Woe to you scribes and pharisee's, hypocrites!
Woe to you blind guides
who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
You outwardly appear righteous to men but inside are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Therefore you are witness's against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.
Fill up then the measure of your fathers guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers, how can you escape the condemnation of hell?

A pharisee would want to nail you down for saying "yet you NEVER mention the violation of the greatest commandment, you do not HATE (the sin of - my edit) those amongst you who fail to LOVE the LORD your God with all their heart .." Surely you might have given me a little credit?

When I said 'all' I meant a good proportion of the people on this site, including you if you are guilty of the sin I described - that of neglect to obey the law yourself in all its glorious detail.
You do not seem familiar with the text concerning the hypocrites and liars. The Word of God makes it quite clear.

What purpose The Law?

I'm not questioning what scripture says John. I'm questioning what you here say about the Christian's right to free speech.
People who are fond of quoting the law others break, might like to inquire into what God thinks of the one who does not keep the commandment found in Deut.6:5.
Have you made this the least of the commandments? Not worthy of Gods wrath?

This is a forum fond of telling others what God hates, but God has an abhorance of coldness of heart, indifferent religion and hypocrisy. Not much mention of these kinds of sin, the liscentious sins get a good going over and appear to be incurring Gods wrath over the nations.

Do you hate homosexuality? Do you hate the coldness of mens hearts with equal ferocity or is that going too far?

Deut:6:5 says, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and might.

This is a command. When you don't keep it, is it an abomination and violation against the law?

Can you show using scripture where your right to freedom of religion is? Can you show using scripture where the American idea of free speech is?
Can you by using scripture give me the biblical definition of free speech?

Do you have free speech within your church community, or on Sunday morning? That is, no restrictions to speech of any of your members?

Why do you ask me what the cure is?

Clearly no Christian would advocate hate openly and still be thought of as a Christian. That would be silly.

Most Christians claim a hatred of the evil of homosexuality (not the homosexual) or adultery (not the adulterer) but I have not heard anyone hate the sin of NOT loving The Lord your God with all your heart ... and your neighbour as yourself.
Do you know why this might be?

Let me clarify.
Homosexuality, adultery, murder, not reading the KJB, women speaking on Sundays, pornography etc etc, is a violation, abomination against God.

The commandment that COVERS the law and prophets - Do you keep it perfectly.

You all come here discussing the sin and violation against Gods law of OTHERS who have rejected God, yet you NEVER mention the violation of the greatest commandment, you do not HATE those amongst you who fail to LOVE the LORD your God with all their heart .. and love their neighbour as themselves .. a sin not worth mentioning, And then there's The Golden Rule ... you go about telling others what God hates and forget about your own neglect to obey the perfect law. You abuse grace, and bury yourselves.

Not really a lot to puzzle over there Micheal. Obsequiousness Micheal.
Maybe you'll get it soon Micheal.

Phoebe, its interesting what you posted about idolizing the constitution. ..."

Yes. There are examples all over this forum (Angela Whitman?)
Where in the Bible does it tell Christians there is freedom of religion for them?
Your government, by being a government for ALL American CITIZENS regardless of religion, has set itself up as a STATE government. It is YOU who are deceived about this.
"gives us favour" and "keeps persecution away" - Where in the Bible are Christians told to make a POLITICAL/ WORLD POWER that favours Christians and keeps persecution 'away'.
What is the difference between a Church (the RCC for instance) claiming it is a State, with a capitol and a King and The State claiming it is a church, with a capitol and a King.
Corporatisation is the fruit of your democracy.
Yes. We have built a globalist system. This has been a bit like the building of the Ark. It's taken over a hundred years and no one has been able to stop it's builders. The State Churchessssssss model themselves on the State. Why wouldn't they?

Micheal H. "A harlot whose lover, the state, hates the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and those who refuse to bow and worship the state as god in things like" ... demanding all Americans obey the Law of Moses. Demanding Presidents be Christian. Idolising the constitution. Believing America is a replica of Israel.
Invading Iraq in the name of the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.???
The CATHOLIC CHURCH is TOOTHLESS Micheal. Over. Done with. A shadow of her former glory. An old man leaning on sticks. An appearance. A facade. Theres nothing behind it. Catholics are divided. John comes here because he can't have these kinds of conversations with other Catholics.
