My goodness John what a ruckus you've caused on this thread.
Free speech?? Definitely Arminian.
Thought that was an American concept myself. Still I think other people in your glorious Christian nation have noticed that the Church DOESNT promote free speech.

I wonder if that was really Barry's post.
It could have been Phoebe in disguise, posting as Barry. I much prefer it when folks stick to their moniker, so as you know who's who.
Free speech can soon turn into deception.
Barry - the whole of the Christian Church is in trouble because of people like this in it - and the rest of the people - if there are any - remain silent. Got to be nice eh?

Then of course you can just ignore 90% of others posts while being extra careful to notice a little detail not quite in place.
When an arguement doesn't make you look good you just chose something in anothers post to focus on even when the post isn't about - and obviously isn't about - what you are claiming it is about. And you won't be detered. But you all come together when the need arises.

Yes, Christopher, there is nothing wrong with a little humor among brothers in Christ. When John and I say something humorous that was not intended to be taking literally, 99 percent of the readers would instantly understand what we are going. But, remember I said 99 percent, not 100.
But, as you know, he and I are as serious in our thoughts as anyone.
Now being serious never made anyone correct, but it is a good start and on a right path.
Frank - there aint no law against putting whatever you like in the name bar.
There is something wrong with your silly humour amongst yourselves. The problem is that you begin by chosing an agrument amongst yourselves. Someone else comes along, poses a different view to you (3?) and then you all turn on that person. If that person actually shows any of you up, the rest of you chime in - thus people coming here pretty soon discover the trap you set them. Then you can always start the 'humour' - mocking - and all join together in your humour.
By the way Frank - there isn't a law against putting whatever name you like whenever you like on this site - take it up with the site moderators. Maybe you find it a moral issue that you can have more than one 'moniker'. Free speech Frank.

It's odd isn't it? Have you noticed that Christian's place restrictions on 'free speech' in their churches but demand 'the right to free speech' in the world. I wonder if atheists and pagans have noticed?

O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called "knowledge"-- 21 which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.

Hi Phoebe,
Thanks so much for posting up all of the recommended reading/listening. I know you could have kept going too.
Interesting thing is that I have already found and have been listening to many of those you listed. I've been going deep into the history, doctrines, dogmas, etc of the RC church and I've found Alan Cairns, Steve Hereford, and Dr John Barnett to be very helpful.
Among others, I like Ken Ham as well, but I sure wish the man would record something longer than a minute. There are pages and pages of his one minute comments that I have to scroll through in order to get to other speakers at times...ha-ha.
Dear Ken Ham, for Christmas this year, I would like a compilation of your creation comments. : )
Email him - Ken Ham - with your fancy app.

No Christopher. Go to the Word of God first. Read it from cover to cover at least three times. Try not to come to The Word of God with presuppositions at first. Just read it, without judging it.

Seek out websites that teach hermeneutics, church history, biblical history, creation theories. Delve into The Word of God.
Listen to teachers from differing backgrounds and keep refering to the Word of God as you do. The Spirit will know if you are genuinely seeking to know Christ more and more and come to help you.
Here is a list of the teachers we have listened to on this site. When we found this site we were almost starving for genuine knowledge of the Word of God, we kept a journal of the ones we listened to.
Alan Cairns. R.C Sproul. R.D Phillips. Leonard Ravenhill. Phil Fernandez. Tozer. Conrad Mbewe. John Barnett. Dr Steve Hereford. Ken Ham. Paul Washer. Albert Mohler. Anthony Curto. Joshua Blair. Russ Sukhia. Gregory Millar. David Murray. Pastor J. Losardo. Henry Mahan on "I never knew you" Mat 7:21-23.
Edward Panosian. Micheal Phillips. Kevin Swanson. Tom Gibson on Humility that exalts. Mark Chanski. James Williamson on Spirital Apathy and Spirit of Truth. Principles of Bible Study. Spurgeon "A bundle of Myrrh." I have so many favourites but am running out of

Psalm 2. Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing?
The Kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against His Annointed, saying "Let us break their bonds in pieces, and cast away their cords from us."
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh.
The Lord shall hold them in derision
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath
And distress them in His deep displeasure
Yet I have set MY KING on MY Holy Hill of Zion.

1 Sam 8: Israel DEMANDS a King. And the Lord said to Samuel "Heed the people in all that they say to you: for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

Heed their voice; however you shall solemnly forwarn them and show them the behaviour of the king who will reign over them.

This is the whole comment I made: That was meant for Angela, she interjected in a conversation I was having a while back. Mum said I'm not allowed to respond to personal questions on the internet. And no talking to men incase we get too familiar.
Look forward to your silence.

Phoebe, I am not going to engage you in conversation because I am a married woman who does not get too familiar with men on-line, and this is due to my fear of God. But please know that I have every right to comment on the news articles as do you. So, let's just steer clear of each other. Please do not follow me from news news story to story. Thanks.
"To be perfectly honest I don't think any of you really care about what happens to other human beings on this planet, the only thing you seem to care about is being right and your supposed rights - but you don't pay too much attention to the rights of others.
Using the bible to make it seem as if you care, when in fact all you care about are your rights, is sinful." Phoebe.

You can accuse me of whatever you like, but you need witnesses, one is the Word of God and the other is The Spirit. You come with neither. And then behave as if you are wronged.
Make sure you don't interject on any opinions posted on this site by men.

Funny, I would have thought if you didn't want to get familiar with men you'd want to talk to the women!

Dear Phoebe, I don't know what you are "getting at"... What exactly is the "greatest show on earth"? My comments are the same and there is no conflicting message. Why don't you click on my website link and read posts from 2005 when I first began posting them on blogs? And also, please know that I am a married woman who does not appreciate being singled out by men. So, if you want to argue, I am not available.
Do you think that you can go on the web saying "Repent America or Gods judgements will come down on your head
but if you repent He will not bring judgement" and then carry on business as usual? Do you have no fear of God?

Angela, you said: "Folks, I really have to interject some thoughts here... First of all, Obama isn't destroying America - I lay his ideology squarely at the feet of the apostate churches and the one he belonged to for perhaps 20 years (?). The rest of the destruction stems from the lukewarm churches who allowed God to removed or disregarded by our civil institutions and government. Plus, we have had an entire generation of Americans aborted for the sake of convenience while Sodom parades through out streets and street preachers are spit upon and shunned by "respectable" church goers. Sorry, folks, but I think we are under God's judgment and the only solution is national repentance and covenanting."

Angela you must be forgetting your other posts. You actually answered some of my questions a little further on in the discussion.

Obviously you don't believe what you say yourself when you expect American's to be still placing hope in the greatest show on earth because if God is bringing judgement on America for her sins and the only way forward is National repentance - well I'd be tearing my garments.

Hey Curtis, Good points all! My answer is there really is no choice between the two peas in a pod except to reject them both.
BTW - I will be at Bible Study instead of watching the VP debate. Please let me know what happens...if anything.
I hope you are going to get back to me about my question: Did the Holy Spirit reveal to you that if American's repent He will turn back the judgements.

Because how can you illuminate the Gospel to others when you are unable to answer this question?

The trouble is Angela, that you appear to have prophesied that if Americans will repent (and nothing short of NATIONALLY)then God will relent of these judgements He is pouring out on your unbelieving Nation.

Did the Holy Spirit reveal this to you?

Then there are all the mega-churches and Charismatic / Pentecostal churches who appear to have grown strong in America and spread all over the world by decieved American evangelists.

Disinformation.

Let me tell you a story that relates.
A pastor in Atlanta, Georgia had a church member who was warning of practising homosexuals coming into the churches, and the harm they were causing. The pastor brushed her warnings off, it wasn't that big a thing and he certainly didn't appreciate her bothering him with it and saw no need to speak out against it ... until he saw one of the deacons of his church pick up a male prostitute.
Roman Catholicism is not nice, and neither is homosexuality for that matter and since Scripture commands us to earnestly contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints we would be in sin against God to fail to do so hypocritially putting our heads into the sand and acting as if such things, false religion and perverted sexuality do not have horrible effects on people.
]]Bullwhip Guy is a brief video clip that illustrates the hypocrisy of those seeking to silence the preaching of the Truth.
Well I guess time will tell.
