If wine is forbidden why is does the Bible say "given to much wine" in leadership qualifications? This may be overstated, but Jesus turned the water into wine- at a wedding. Strong drink is not permitted and drunkenness is forbidden. A little wine , emphasis on little, may be left to liberty in Christ. If you can't have a little, have none. Is this not the truth?
Very good article to balance(correct maybe) the spirit of the age.
This is not talking about our getting saved, but rather protecting society. MacArthurs comments below are about getting saved, this is about governing society. Different issues.
Tricky interview. It was not made clear that under the NewCovenant God has not given instruction to kill homosexuals. The distinction between Mosaic covenant and the New, must be established. The church is not national Israel. Also, turning to the crucified Jesus was missing. We all have perverse hearts, we all need the cleansing blood.
From what I understand the pre-modern age diet was rich with the good bacteria that the article refers to. They were found in preserved foods (sauerkraut) and yogurts etc... people knew about this. As for dietary laws they haven't been around for 2000 years. Proverbs says that the prosperity of fools destroys them, that may be a good commentary on the modern diet. As for God abandoning us, far from it. He has left us His word, His Spirit and countless other blessings. Don't curse Him, He has more good things for you than you can ever comprehend, if you will receive it. Heaven is yet to come, disease and pain will be erased. Praise the Lord!
This term typically goes well for people who want salvation without separation. We are commanded to keep the tradition of the apostles, see 2Thess 2:15 and to separate from those who refuse to, see 2 Thess 3:6. These are the apostles / Christ's traditions and should be beautiful and full of the savor of Christ to the believer.
