BASIC ENGLISH LESSON FOR SEATON

"unto salvation" is a preposistional phrase functioning as an adverb which modifies the verb phrase "is guiding."

An adverb answers the question "to what extent, how, and for what purpose." According to the sentence in question, the guiding is for the purpose of (unto) salvation.

That lesson was for free. Next time I will have to charge you.

If that's not what you meant then you need to change the structure of your sentence. But of course we all know that this is exactly what you mean although you hate the sound of such a ridiculous idea.

You believe that that there are members of the invisible church who are not saved yet. Just like you believe that only Calvinist's can be saved, although you will not admit it so simply.

Face it. Calvinism is as ridiculous as it sounds.

I prescribe you EN 101.

"Ultimately, this for me, is the Spirit guiding our church into all truth for His purposes unto salvation."

The church needs to be saved?

Only in the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist.

I prescribe Seaton a Bible to replace his How-to-Defend-Calvinism handook.

Abigail wrote:
“Trust and obey is the only way.”

Wrong again. Christ is the only way!
I prescribe you John 14:6.

The Devastating Truth States:
“You are adding works to salvation. If one cannot be a Christian without being a Calvinist, that is legalism. It is the same as saying that one cannot be saved except he become a Jew and be circumcized. You are preaching another gospel and therefore anathema.”
______________________________________
Abigail wrote:
“I assure you, there will be no good people in hell.”

Apparently, you believe that there is not an act of kindness that a saved person can do or you believe that goodness is perfection. Which is it?

I prescribe you an English dictionary. Use it this time.

Abigail wrote:
“God has given us commandments, laws, and guidance through His Word.”

Wrong again. You are in the role today. Doing the will of the Father has nothing to do with a works salvation. Try reading the context.

I prescribe you a sincere examination of context.

"We're treated just like the Roman Catholics treated Protestants."

Hopefully you are not saying this while you are burning at the stake. It was Paul under the inspiration of the Spirit that wrote Galatians, not any one of us. If you believe that one can simply make up his own gospel, then you are in worst shape than what I thought.

I prescribe you Galatians 1:9
" 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

Abigail wrote:

If your definition of good is perfection, then I suppose you are right. But if your definition of good is like the one that most people use (kind and sincere people) then you may need to reconsider your statement.

I prescribe you an English dictionary.

Problem #3- election took place prior to the creation of the world.

Answer #3- This of itself is not a problem. But how he figures that simply because election before the foundation of the world requires it to be unconditional is the mother of all ministry. The same God could use to make it conditional without it being meritous. The real question is, What does the Bible state? Anytime the Bible mentions the way of salvation, it always mentions the condition of faith and NEVER mentions in the faintest way unconditional election nor of the sort. Now that's the devastating truth.

Problem #4- John points out that faith is a work

Answer: Now that's a new one. I would like to see how what sort of redefinitions and fabrications he has to come out with to prove that one. The interesting thing is that in his second point he stated that faith is a gift. Apparently, he is making it up as he goes.

I prescribe him a 2-week Calvinistic detoxication.

Ha!

A Calvinist indeed. The only difference is that Scholia's infection is further along.

Allow me to help.

Problem #1 One cannot simultaneously affirm total depravity and conditional election.

Answer #1 That rationality exists only in the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist. Depravity of man as defined by the Bible (Romans 7) is that man by nature has a propensity to sin and without the restriction of God he is able to do the vilest of sin. This is a far cry from the Calv's stating that man can do no good at all and that he absolutely cannot seek God. I have yet to be shown a simple declarative statement from the Bible that can support that view. The devastating truth is that God commands us to seek him because he has endowed us with that ability in the imago dei.

Problem #2- Faith itself is a gift of God

Answer: Faith is never called a gift in the Bible. Salvation is called a gift. The only place you can come close to that is in one verse which you have to distort. But the Bible has plenty of references to salvation being a gift, yes, even in Ephesians 2:9. Faith is commanded of God not bestowed. Besides, everyone has faith but not in the right things. So I am not sure what la-la land you got that from.

...

"... and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God."

So according to the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist, John was writing to believers who had a hard time believing in Jesus.

Ha!

Funny but ironic: The only people that I know are like that would be the Calvinist.

I prescribe Scholia a rude awakening with the devastating truth.

It's precious to see one perverted doctrine trying to defend itself against another perverted doctrine.

Talk about theological havoc.

Though this is not the cure to her freakness, I believe that the following prescription will provide temporary relief at the moment:

Give her a man she can woop and a pulpit where she can preach.

That will at least pacify her for a bit.

Her mental intability is worst than I thought. She is having visions of meeting me. (Now that's a scary thought).

You mix the freakness with the time of the month, changing life, and the pills she's taking. It makes for a desperate case.

I think the only solution will be a brain transplant.

Contender wrote:

Good. So you should have no problem with "For God so loved the world..."
_______________________________________

"The Bible is full of proofs that one can lose their salvation."

Yeah right, just like it has many proofs for women to usurp authority over a man.

Not very impressive.

I prescribe you a Bible free of egotistical feminism.

"It is difficult if not impossible to reason with arminians and free-willers."

It's that Calvinist mental block that you have been plagued with. It's difficult for you to accept simple declarative statements from the Bible. I prescribe you a sincere heart for truth.

It's the devastating truth that they find a harder time getting over.

B.A.

Its not as complicated as you would like it to be.

Acts 16:31
" Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"

I prescribe you a 2-week Calvinism detoxication.

Hopalong Cassidy,

Contender believes that God only saves a predetermined few. His problem is that he can never be sure that he is one of them.

Must be a terrible state of mind to know that God only selected a predetermined few without ever knowing whether God has predetermined YOU to heaven or hell.

Now you understand why Calvinism is a mental disease.

I prescribe him Hebrews 10:19-23

"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21and having a high priest over the house of God; 22let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised;"

Now if you excuse me. I am ready for my hallelujah fit.
