You know, I actually suspected for a brief time that R.K. may have been a little more noble than the rest of the Calvinist.

Stupid me. I guess my hope went beyond reason.

I suppose that the 40 plus people who translated the KJV are not enough for you.

RE: Deleted comment.

So I see that Alpha does not really care about a personal attack since I attacked noone personally but rather that I said something that disrespects his precious Calvinism.

Ok,

That was a clear exposition of Scripture.

Is there another a new rule created against an honest exegesis?

As usual, Walt's ad hominem are kept in tact.

As soon as I throw out one, then all of a sudden it is foul game.

At least mine are more creative.

Abigail,

In the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist, there is no difference between fornication and adultery.

That's what false theology does. It redefines simple terms to suit their theology.

It does not even matter to them if every dictionary in the world states differently.

Michael Hranek wrote:
Can anyone prove anything to you from Scirpture?
Yes so long as it is not simply verse launching. My three year old could do that.

Michael Hranek wrote:
I've pretty much said my peace and given Scripture to back my conviction.
I must've missed it. Would you mind trying again? The only thing I've been reading from you is some ad hominems and existential philosophy that has infected your mind.

Michael Hranek wrote:
Seems like it is possible with certain individuals to reach a point where further correspondance with them gets us no where.
You have the right to ignore me if you'd like. I have the right to demonstrate how perverted your position is simply by using God's simple Word.

Now here is a sample of Walt's convoluted rationale. Now folks this occurs all in one post.

He begins with:
"Indeed, it is ridiculous as a minister to run around claiming Christians promote divorce...let alone Calvinists"

Then he states:

"...but using Scripture to interpret Scripture it(speaking of divorce) can be shown lawful."

Folks, don't be surprised. Walt has been long known for his double-tongue.

Seaton wrote:
And where in Scripture is this little gem taught????
I wonder if the following answer would suffice since it is the same one he uses when asked about unconditional election:

The whole of Scripture teaches the age of accountability.

Wayne wrote:
I am not going to get into a debate with you about the promises of God to His children...
Just like a Calvinist to insist on purporting but refuse to defend it from Scripture.

Wayne wrote:
By the grace of God, I believe in Jesus Christ and what He did for me. Let's leave it at that.
It's just everyone else that he has a problem with.

I am sure that in the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist, the hurricane crisis that Florida had last year was Darby's fault as well.

If he were not a Calvinist, SA would consider what Walt does as spam.

There are two categories of the papal system that resulted from the reformation.

1. Those under the Catholic pope
2. Those under the Calvin pope.

Of course all the reformers were ex-catholics so they still have a lot in common.

And those here have many things in common as well.

Instead of rallying behind, "Kill all the heretics" (since that would be illegal) they rally behind "Censor all the heretics."

Walt,
I have greatly appreciated your insights and I very seldom find...
It's not his insights. If you have not noticed, he has been cutting and pasting.

If you want to really find disagreement with him go to another thread and discuss church polity.

Derek summarized your disillusion:

"I think the calvinistic position has problems due to the fact that man is trying to put a finite mind around an infinite God."

The fact is folks that if GOd can divorce Israel (which is Walt's argument) than he can divorce you.

And if according to Ephesians 5 the church is the bride of Christ, and there is nothing wrong with divorce, then Jesus can just as easily divorce any of us.

Unless you come from the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist where one can do a 360 in his hermeneutic at any given time, then one cannot deny the irony of the Calvinist who believes that the saved can never lose their salvation defending divorce while the arminian who believes that salvation can be forfeited defending the marriage contract.

Pathfinder,

Why won't you prove your position from Scripture so that I may you the ridiculousness of your position to the 1,542 plus users present.

This childish namecalling gets real old real quick, do you not think.

If you are going to convince the reader of your position you will have to do a bit more than ad hominem and existentialism.

PATHFINDER wrote:

I think spiritual quoted the rest of the passage. I could'nt since I ran out of space. I wonder what is your excuse now?

Walt we already are quite familiar with your cut and paste abilities and how you can find someone that agrees with you. We were not impressed back then when you used to paste whole articles and we are not much impressed now.

If you want to really impress us, give us an original exegesis for once.

Pathfinder,

I do not know what is going on with you but either you are struggling with something in your life or I just hit a nerve that brought out the worst in you.

But I assure you that you will feel just as welcomed in my church as the other one's that committed the same sin, unless of course you start teaching them that divorce is not a sin.

You may also need to read your Bible and understand what a Pharisee is. Just because I believe that divorce is a sin does not make me a Pharisee anymore than you believing that drinking alcohol is a sin make you one.

We are all sinners. God understands that. I understand that. But that gives us no excuse to try to justify it.

If you are going to challenge the Weapon of Mass Instruction than you are going to have to do a bit better than muster up some worn-out ad hominem.

"Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her...."

John 3:16 wrote:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Oh, wretched sinner out there, if I am the only one in here you will hear this from, so be it, but listen clear.

God loves you. Yes you. He died for you! He desires YOU to repent and come to his loving arms. There is no sin too deep where his grace cannot reach. And while others stammer at this truth, while others are reluctant to scream it from the housetops; and while others would love to tear it out of the Bible; I want you to hear it from me:

God does not only love an elite few. No my friend. Rest assured: God loves you! God loves you! GOD LOVES YOU!!!

Now if you excuse me for a moment, I need to have my hallelujah fit!
