John Uk, that’s the most important thing, keeping my eyes on Him and walking with Him everyday. Love that old song as well. I sing old hymns a lot because they keep me rejoicing.
So thankful you’re back commenting on here,Penned because I learn the truth about what is actually going on here in America and other places. Keeping us informed, must be your calling. Mine is seeing and sharing God’s Love with others, which seems to drive some people a little crazy on here. I have not always been this way,as.a matter of fact I had a hard time believing that God could even love me. One night kneeling by my bed, I had an experience with God that changed my life and revealed His love in such a profound way, that even today I still marvel that He could love me so much that He died that I might live.Of course, someday we will give account for any rejection of that great love by refusing to accept Christ as their Savior.

AMEN, JohnUk!! We make choices everyday;am I going to tell the truth or lie even if doing so causes me problems, am going to control my tongue and not add pain in someone’s life, after all, proverbs says,’a soft answer turns away wrath.’ will I do the right thing or not ?
Choices made every day will I please my Lord or put self on the throne.
I love the song I sang as a child at Vacation Bible School.
Be careful little eyes what you see...be careful little hands what you do..there’s a Father up above looking down in love, so be careful little mouth what you say( write, post). I have started thinking of this little song lately with its powerful message as I read some of the comments on this forum, so harsh and unkind and have to make a choice of my own response. Do I respond the same or do I move on And not even respond when I realize it’s not really going to change anything, just give them more of an opportunity to vent their frustrations on me so I make the choice to drop it and move on to other places and people I can help. While thinking of my little song.

Like Penned has so wisely said including hormones and antibiotics in our meat products have caused untold numbers of problems.
Good morning, JohnUk, at least it’s morning in my neck of the woods. Yep, best way to eat, fresh out of the ground, like my grandpa used to do. Drew water out of the well, even had his own 🐝 hives.,which we kids avoided like the plague 😁

I would like to add, what a blessing that must have been for your family to have known Corrie ten Boon. A remarkable Christian woman she was. I read all her books and watched the movie The Hiding Place. What suffering they went through for doing what they felt God wanted them to do. I was a devoted follower of her also. I had small children and was in such a need to have some one that was a deep Christian to be an inspiration to me and help me and she did. All through my journey it seems God blessed me with different ones to carry me through some tough places. And always led by his Holy Spirit.

I am going to repeat what the Grahams believe and then I am off this thread.
God’s job is to Judge
Holy Spirit’s job to convict.
Our job is to Love. Billy Graham’s quote and they live what they preach. They warn of coming Judgement and that is being a watchman on the wall. The prophets of old had the same problem no body wanted to hear the truth they spoke because it wasn’t what they wanted to hear so they got their own prophets to speak their words they knew would please the listeners and not about their sins and coming Judgment .

He is not saying that keeping the law saves us and explains very clearly how to get saved by trusting Christ who died on a cross to save us. Ladybug is one of those people that likes to believe her beliefs are the only way to make it to heaven. Which says believe me and MY interpretation of what the Bible says or means is the only way to heaven. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. That is pretty plain to me and He helps us with this by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen,JohnUk and what truths are given in that song. You have helped me to carry on even though burdens can be heavy at times and holidays can bring it on. So much truth about the Holy Spirit and He keeps our oil full. What blessings and encouragement I have been given this morning to start my day. Have a blessed day as well, my friend.

So unbelievably sad that America no longer upholds freedom of religion. Slowly but surely our freedom is being taken away from us.Put a frog in boiling water and he immediately jumps out. Put that same frog in tepid water and, slowly heat the water to boiling and he doesn’t even try to save himself.

Hi John Uk, was thinking along the same as you, that we need to keep oil in our lamps (stay ready)as we face whatever is coming our way. We never know and it can happen anywhere at anytime.

Glad to see you posting,Penned. I understand the part of having to forgive those who have caused us pain. Seems like holidays just bring it back and Corriie ten Boon was right. Need to keep our eyes on Christ to make it through this world. Anyway blessings dear friend.prayers as well.

God brought good out of what happened because he brought the message to the network that made it reach even more people. God’s Word does not return to Him void but will accomplish whatever He wills. Another scripture that came to me from memory.

Dr. Tim, I am sure you are a true southern gentleman because in response to my post about your little poem being so funny and light hearted amongst the serious discussion, you replied,”yes ma’am “ I am a born and raised typical southern gal from Tuscaloosa, Alabama! Roll Tide. Still remember the bon Fires before the games.Fond memories I have of my life in that home town.

This is another sign of the Second Coming of Christ and it is awesome to see so much happening in such a short time.
A president with no political background, disliked by the political parties even some of his own, even now still being investigated and impeachment looming and all kinds of crises keep popping up and now this most amazing move of all!! Can we not see God’s hand in all that’s happened this year ??And despite it all he still stands and he is really in need of our prayers .

Dr Tim, they (moderators) have not closed the thread down yet so the debating has been agreeable without agreeing. Which hasn’t always been the case ,me included, but the good Lord used it to teach me a few lessons that I needed to learn. That was so funny what you wrote about the poem about the two men argued until the cat paw crept silently and the two birds never heard it too busy arguing they were. just we need on here to lighten things up a bit.

Like I have said more than once That God can use anything or anybody as He so wills to do whatever He wants, even a donkey or a cute little cartoon character called Charlie Brown or a replica of Noah’s Ark. It’s rather silly to say no way and that money could be used for this or that, come to think of it didn’t Judas say those very words when Mary Magdalene poured a bottle of expensive oil on Jesus ‘s head. Judas was holding the money bag that was used for the poor but he was stealing from the money bags.and thought the expensive bottle of perfume should have been sold and given to the poor. I get so weary of people second guessing God and Jesus said,”forbid her not for she is anointing me for my burial and the poor you will have always.” I am quoting this verse from memory as it comes to me and that’s how the Holy Spirit reveals things for me to pass on to whoever has ears. to hear.

I think of the two thieves on the cross. One being belligerent and ridiculing Jesus. The other one admonished that thief and turned to Jesus and said remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus’s relply, “Today thou shalt be with me in Paradise.” How simple is that? So simple a child can understand. How personal was that, You shall be with me in Paradise. A belief, a confession, a choice was made. Two choices was made actually. God spoke to me personally and I answered that call personally. No one else was involved just me, the Holy Spirit ‘s call and God. The seeds sown by other Christians and watered by another was finally came to fruit. That’s my experience and yours may be totally different but just as real. God doesn’t make us all out of the same cookie cutter so to speak but there will be fruit to bear if we abide in the vine.
