Data; I kind of like Chris Walley and Kathy Tyers, but I've also enjoyed R. Ingermanson and Shane Johnson. There are a few others I can't currently remember.
Klingon is from the Star Trek universe, not Star Wars.... Just saying. Also, in reference to an earlier comment; Sci-fi can be good or bad, depending. I love reading and writing Sci-fi, and there are several good Christian Sci-fi authors out there that use that method of storytelling to expound upon Christian truths.
Well Fax, you can be sure that if aliens do you arrive they will either land in Alabama, Mississippi, or California. (I think they would choose to avoid Nevada.) The fact is though, even if we found "life" on another planet, that would not preclude the existence of God. I have no problem with the idea of life on other planets, God only gives us the information we need in the Bible. Remember, God gave us the history of his entire creation in just a few verses. I don't think it was a deep scientific treatise... Just a glimpse to let us know… "Yeah, I did that."
Granted; but just remember that just a few years ago there was a huge stink about who was on the Missouri watch list. The Highway Patrol had a study done and the people on the MSHP terror list included "people who supported third party political candidates such as Ron Paul..." and others. Of the 72 at DHS did the article specify they were Muslims on the watch list? Or that they were on the watch list?
Devils advocate… From 2001 to 2003 I was working in bioterrorism… We were tracking 127 "Bubba groups" in just the state I was in. Those are "domestic terror groups" generally white supremacist. It didn't take much to get added to the "watchlist" and there were many people on there that were terrorists. They were just being "watched". The point is, you can't take away someone's job just because someone thinks they should be watched. Just because there's something in there pass that gives the Government a reason to keep an eye on them. Because the fact is… That's getting to be us.
At some point Christians are going to have to ubderstand that this is the new norm. The world doesn't think this is a problem. Some, sickly enough, think it's funny. "...even so come, Lord Jesus..."
Sad to say, but the era of easy Christianity has just about drawn to a close. 20 years ago people thought that persecution was getting a dirty look from someone… We're about to find out what real persecution is. The bright side of it… In about five years you won't have all these petty arguments over infinitesimally minor doctrinal points...The focus will be on salvation.
Given the insidiously deceptive nature of Islam, it's a wonder that people throw such a huge fit over what Ben Carson said the other day. If we have Muslims in our military who turn on us and kill their own, fellow soldiers, Muslims in foreign countries that we give aid and training to that turn on us… Why would anyone want to trust a Muslim president?
I actually compare these two all the time… There are many similarities; both useless, both driving people closer to hell, both tools of the devil… The list goes on
I'm not sure what's worse; Allah or bowing to the drag queen ideology and letting perverts run the halls, bathrooms and locker rooms. (*Proud Honeschooling parent for 19 years*)
