If I were a business owner there I would convert all bathrooms to several single rooms with a single stall and sink. Sadly, I think Churches may need to do that as well.

I will give you that. Of course, it is something to be wary of. Isn't the same Greek root for witchcraft the same for Pharmaceuticals?

(Although I believe that is a misappropriation of the verse,) to argue specifics, it said Strong drink, not strong weed.

While violence is intolerable, to deny people the right to defend themselves is not the way to end violence. It saddens me that someone could look at the facts and come away with the wrong answer.

Sunday became the default "go to meeting" day as a result of it being the first day of the week when the collection was taken up the early church. Not as a way of maintaining a Sabbath day of rest. See Colossians 2:11

You could look at it from either perspective: the fact remains, God chooses to act how He wills. Sometimes Hos mercy resides in swift judgement. Other times His mercy is shown in his great patience as He withholds the swift blow that we so aptly deserve and instead allows us to see the full end of our sin.
In short; sometimes when my children were learning to walk, I would hold them steady while they walked. Other times, I would let them fall to teach them to stand on their own.

I have no disagreement with sister B. My point is that God will chastise his children, and lead them to repentance.

My point is simply this, we all have ideas of what God's chastisement will look like… Unfortunately, his grace often prevails longer then we assume it should.
It goes back to Ecclesiastes 8:11- "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil."

Considering that the Bible negates the possibility of sinless perfection in a Christian, I would say that is well within the possibilities that there are Christians like that out there, saved people who do not read their Bible.

It comes down to the Bible being important to the parents before it can be important to the teens. I taught my kids early on to read the Bible on a daily basis, as well as showed them the importance by doing it myself.
I would say that that is the main problem… Christians aren't doing it, so their kids aren't.

The Sabbath is Saturday. They work every Saturday.
But, then again, they aren't Jews, under the law either...

So, the parables that Christ used to teach... Were lies?

Mourner? You would equate allegory and fiction with lies and deception?

SC, the fact is that none of us can ever plumb the depths of God's Word, so if you are waiting on that, you'll never get there.
The Bible doesn't teach against fiction. It teaches against glorifying sin. If you can glorify God while writing fiction, whatever the landscape is, then God is glorified.
But the Bible also teaches that every man must be fully persuaded in that which he does, and I believe that would apply here. You don't like fiction, don't read it.
But to seemingly snipe at others for your opinion that is not founded in Biblical fact is contrary to what Christ taught.
Just saying.

That would probably fit under "fantasy world literature" since it is obviously not the Bible.

A. I think I know I'm not Jesus. (and my wife would definitely agree with my lack of perfection.)
B. As to what God is glorified through, C.S. Lewis will answer to God if he overstepped. (Personally, I never cared for his work, but that's just me.) the fact is though that we will ALL stand and give answer. To Him.
C. (And the most salient fact,) Jesus is our EXAMPLE for our behavior. That's why we are called Chriatians... We are to be Christ-like. If HE set an example, who are you to question it?
D. Can you point me to a clear passage of Scripture that tells the Christian to not write fiction? That the use of a fictional take to illustrate a truth is wrong?
I'll answer. No. You cannot.
Is some done, in my opinion, badly? Yes.
Paganism, oversexualization, promoting sinful behaviors... All of these are wrong, and I wouldn't write, much less read, anything that violated the behavioral standards that God has set forward.

Sc.
Two points; first, even Jesus used parables... Fictional stories that were designed to make a specific point. I have read books that have given me further perspective on things from God's Word, and that is also my goal when I write fiction: to simply allow the reader to see how God Works in the life of a character. Sci-fi, western, action adventure... It's all the same, simply the landscape of the story.
Secondly though is this; there are many out there whose first introduction to God's working is through fiction, and they moved on to the Bible as a result.
My point, while God's Word is supreme, I refuse to put God in a box and say he can only work through the Bible. If He can get glory through one of my books, or that of another author.... Awesome.
