He was in bonds :but had the freedom to wander about his house, and obviously taught scripture to any who came to hear him 10 "I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds" desmois mou "With the soldier that guarded him. It appears from ver. 20 that St. Paul was subjected to the custodia militaris, i.e. that he was fastened by a single chain to a praetorian ,but, as a special favor, granted probably on the good report of the courteous Julius, was allowed to dwell in his own hired house ..." Mike wrote: If using few words displeases, here's more: Having grown up on a fruit and vegetable farm, including a vineyard, I learned something. That powdery substance that grows on grapes is yeast, so you may have to rethink the claim about "wine in the cluster hasn't been corrupted with leaven." Grapes grow covered in it. If you drink freshly pressed juice, you are ingesting yeast. When pressed, the fermentation begins. That's why the Lord used the metaphor of not putting new wine in old bottles, or they would burst. New wine is already fermenting, nothing need be added, it's designed that way. Pasteurization is actually an unnatural handling of the juice, but necessary to stabilize as grape juice during processing. Excellent info. Thanks for the details. Helps to see even "fresh" in this fallen world is already corruption bound. The "water of the word "helps to dilute that corruption potential And I would think washed grapes-( my Bible school was surrounded by miles of vineyards) would dilute the grapes. One brother made the mistake of eating fresh grapes on the vine & got insecticide poisoned I had not realized how poisonous modern fresh grapes were before that. No prob w/ short replies when comprehensive. |

ladybug wrote: F. Graham doesn't comprehend the unregenerate will NOT turn to God for wisdom and guidance. Graham is part of the problem and not the solution. His decisional regeneration accursed gospel is the reason many will perish in their sins. This quote from Archibald Brown describes the American churches by and large.... "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them — that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood! When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die!' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways — that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood!" Ezekiel 33:6-8 We behold this same evil affecting many of the pulpits of today's churches. Mere morality is taking the place of regeneration, and the atonement by blood is a slighted subject. Instead of beseeching men to be reconciled to God — we find ministers wasting their time in giving Sunday lectures about all kinds of subjects. Rome is burning — and Nero is playing his fiddle! Souls are perishing — and ministers are amusing them!" Thx |

pennned wrote: I don't prefer that you change monikers, but at times I certainly understand why you do. and you are right, willful ignorance is no excuse. Thx penned. I like your posts - lots of interests as source of commentary- I am open to changing back to a single name. But for myself see no benefit. 1 if the continuity serves u- keep a name But when someone looks at your post and thinks because of your previous posts u are not worth reading ( "oh it is that conspiracy kook again") , your easily substantiated recent post about commies winning could be dismissed - as though Alex Jones is heard in the raspy voice of penned.
2 if debates did not include ability to come up with some other name to snipe and then return to the common alias, as is easy to do with other Isp access, a single name would be more appealing. Playfulness on post names reminds others they do not have real interaction on local church body type reality. 3 if a post is quote from link site, anonymous names work just as well. 4Consistent name? The courts have interpreted the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868) to give the government far more "eminent domain" power than was originally intended, Under the rubric of "eminent domain" and various zoning regulations, land use regulations by the Bureau of Land Managementproperty taxes, and "environmental" excuses, private property rights have become very diluted and private property in landis, vehicles, and other forms are seized almost every day in this country under the "forfeiture" provisions of the RICO statutes and the so-called War on Drugs..
