Show me one place in scripture where one is commanded to pray to invite Jesus into his heart to be saved.
_

Show me one place I have ever suggested they do! This is presumption!
_

He does not draw those who are none of his.
_

You did not say anything about any drawing in your testimony. You said you repented and received the free gift of salvation.

How did you receive it?

Are you now changing your testimony?
_

You wrote:

He does not draw those who are none of his.
_

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE ONE OF HIS? What verse in Scripture assures you that you are and if you can repent and be saved after hearing the gospel, then anyone can repent and be saved after hearing the gospel? In fact, they are commanded to!
_

You wrote

God has already done it for you.

_

So, you are saying you did not receive Christ into your heart? Would that be an accurate statement, please?

Casob wrote:
This does not explain how you know you are one of the few elect.
Maybe not to you but to those who are born of God it does.
_

This is subjective and has nothing to do with Scripture nor a promise of God!

Jago,

You say you are a member of the great temple but you do not quote God saying it. You have no way of knowing for sure any more than anyone else.

Lone Wolf wrote:

As I started searching these scriptures out, I saw that I had no chance of eternal life and that was a lost hellbound sinner. He didn't lead me into a "1-2-3 Repeat after me" sinner's prayer to invite Jesus in my heart. He shared with me verses that hit me where I was and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting and drawing. I just simply repented of my sin and received the free gift of salvation. My assurance is based on what Christ did for me, not what I did for him.
___

This does not explain how you know you are one of the few elect. If you could react to the Scriptures this way, then anyone could with the same results.

Are you saying Jesus is not in your heart or that you just did not receive him into your heart?

Lionize:

There is nothing personal in your comments and you are presuming that you are the elect without God telling you. If an atheist read these comments, he likewise could make the same bold claim as you have.

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

How do you know he began a good work in you? Anyone could say that. The JW's could say it.

When did you get saved and when were you translated into the kingdom of his dear son and what happened to you that made you different than a JW who could say the same thing as you?

One reformed person said he was taking a stroll across a field in Scotland and God just elected him and he had not even been thinking about being saved. It was just his time. Is that your similar testimony. BTW, he doesn't have a verse or promise either.

Lone Wolf,

The Holy Spirit revealed to me that it is Christ who paid the satisfactory justice that I deserved. When I repented of my sin and believed on Christ, God by His infinite grace saved me.

Now, this is what I was looking for. You said you did these things. That must mean you were told somewhere that if you did them God would save you. Where did he say it and what is your confidence that you will be eternally saved?

This is not a personal testimony of salvation that this person has written.

No one of you calvinists can give a person salvation testimony that is consistent with your soteriological proclamations and if you show up in front of God with no better than that you will likely be turned away!

You can not give a single bible promise that says you are an elect person. Your testimony is all subjective.

What does referencing those verses mean? What is your personal reason for believing you are one of the elect. Anyone can reference verses!

Do you have a personal testimony of salvation or not?

When you can give a biblical reason that you personally can know you are one of the elect of God, then come back and we can discuss doctrinal issues. But if you can not be sure you are even saved, discussion with you will be futile.

You have been duped by the Pauline gospel cult that rejects the gospel of Christ and preach the gospel of Paul only. They are both the same. Christ preached his death, burial and resurrection in his gospel.
_

Most of the time I think your brand of unbelief is amusing, tragic, but amusing nonetheless. However, when false and untrue and unwarranted accusations like this are leveled without any justification at all, it makes me a little more than angry.

You men have no idea about the 2 comings to the earth of Jesus Christ and neither did the Jews to whom he preached. That in spite of all the OT prophecies and your understanding of God and his truth is likewise such a mystery to you that no one can really even have an intelligent discussion with you on the subject as has been demonstrated with DJC49 and MurrayA on a couple of threads lately.

However, the Jews will not be nearly as guilty as you and your tribe because they did not have history, the full disclosure of God concerning his intentions, and 2000 years to study it.

There is much more in the OT prophecies and types of the second coming of Christ than his first coming and you men would have denied his first coming if you were not forced by the facts to accept it. Your hermeneutic would demand denial!

In the judgment, we will see who is preaching another Jesus!
__

DJC49

Jesus Christ was preaching the gospel of the kingdom according to the Davidic covenant. The Jews understood that Jesus was claiming to be his promised seed that would rule over Israel. He preached right up to the end of his ministry and in Mt 12 he said this to the Jewish rulers.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world (age), neither in the world (age) to come. (And they Haven't)

Just in case you think this is not in the context of the kingdom:

Mt 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

You need to read this whole context!

Jesus did not preach the gospel of the kingdom after this, he preached the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The message he manifested from this point is to individuals to come unto him. Mt 12:46-50

47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

You men do not understand the miracles and why they were such a strong testimony for the validation of the Messiahship of Jesus Christ. These are kingdom miracles, as all miracles are. When Messiah sets up his kingdom all sickness, demonic activity, etc will be over.

Joh 7:31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this [man] hath done?

The next verse describes the panic of the rulers when they see the reaction of the people and immediately set up a plan t0 kill him and retain their power over the people.

I don't have time to talk about the miracles and how they are related to Israel and the kingdom but I will later and I am sure it will be new ground for the religious men on this forum.

Mt 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

There is no healing going on with the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God.

Mr 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Mr 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The gospel is that the kingdom of God is "at hand". That means it is not here yet.

A man must be born again to enter into it when it does come.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Now this statement should give you men pause. You cannot perceive the kingdom of God. You are arguing against it. You thinkthe preaching of it is foolishness.

I am your friend. I am warning you and telling you the truth. It does not look good for you if your words mean anything. You can throw darts and pat one another on the back but the truth is you have no discernment and you pervert the good word of God.

Everyone knew that Jesus Christ was peaching the kingdom of God is at hand!

No one could possibly disagree with the definition of the gospel of Jesus Christ given to us in 1 Cor 15:1-4. That says:
1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

How could he and why would he preach his death, burial, and resurrection before it happened? Paul said it is this gospel that saved these gentiles he was writing to. This gospel was not preached before it took place no matter what these religious men say!

No one has answered why the disciples that travelled with him did not believe the resurrection if that is what they were preaching. They could not have been saved if they did not believe the gospel because this is called the gospel of your salvation.

Somebody help me with this!

I am wondering why my comments were arased by sermonaudio since I attacked no one personally and did not violate the rules of this forum.

Are you guys being big cry babies and hitting the abuse icon?

Please let me say this again! Jesus Christ was not crucified because he presented himself as saviour. A saviour would have been no threat to the religious leaders or to Rome. The disciples that traveled with him for 3 years and who listened in to his sermons and preached the same message themselves were quite surprised when Jesus was arrested and crucified and they thought all hope was lost because of it. Two disciple were travelling down to Emmaus, for crying out loud. Does anyone think they expected Jesus Christ to rise from the dead on the third day. If they did they evidently were not too thrilled about it. They were getting out of Dodge, so to speak.

Does any one of the religious leaders who are commenting on here believe that Jesus Christ and his disciples were preaching that Jesus Christ was crucified, was buried, and rose from the dead the third day? If you believe that, step up and say it.

The flat fact is that he was preaching the gospel of the kingdom just like God has said in his record that he gave of his son!

Casob/JD,
"MurrayA is not here identifying with it. He is in false religion but one cannot say he is dumb."

Don't be too sure!
_

Well, okay, if you insist but don't accuse me of saying it!
__

Jn 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

This is not the end of the story of Jn 6. It was the common people who wanted to make him king and it was not time for him to be king.

He said to these same people the next day:

Joh 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Kinda self centered, wouldn't you say?

There is much more to the Kingship of Jesus Christ to understand than just that he is a benevolent king. He is also the savior of the world, the only saviour and it is the Father which will give him the throne and he will tell him to sit upon it, not the people.

I am continually amazed at the lack of spiritual understanding in you teachers of religion. I have great doubts about you!

Casob it is absurd to say the covenants could not be broken. Why were the Israelites scattered? Why were the taken into captivity? They broke the covenants and God turned from them. When they came back into a right relationship with Him He renewed His promises.
__

Can someone please tell me how one can "break" an unconditional covenant? I would like to know how that is done.

The only covenant that Israel "broke" was the Mosaic covenant, which was a temporary addendum to the Abrahamic covenant, and conditional. Ga 3:19 Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was added (to the Abrahamic covenant) because of transgressions, TILL the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

The "breaking" of the Mosaic covenant did not abrogate the Abrahamic covenant, or the land covenat,or the Davidic, or the New. Haven't you read (Duet 28-30) that the dwelling in the land granted to Israel by the Abrahamic covenant depended on them observing the laws of the Mosaic covenant till the SEED shold come who would bring the Mosaic covenant to an end and replacing it with something far better. Isreal did not accept the better one (read Rom 9-11 here) and held on to the old one and God chastened them by the dispersion into the nations.

You know DJC49, I find it hard to believe that you would display your ignorance of the language of the Scriptures and showcase your unbelief so blatantly as you have done recently. It is embarrasing and to his credit, MurrayA is not here identifying with it. He is in false religion but one cannot say he is dumb.

I have offered evidence of everyone involved with his earthly ministry, including God, thinking he was a king but you don't think he was. I have not ever dealt with ignorance on this scale before.

2 (Jesus) Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he [is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Now, Zechariah is thinking he is coming as the KING of Israel! Jesus Christ actually thought he was fulfilling this prohecy. But you don't!

The next time he comes it will be on a white horse and Israel will receive him!

Jago, You have no thoughts of your own and I am not interested in dealing with someone of your caliber.

However, if you will give me a verse that proves you are one of the elect and are going to heaven because of it, I will think about accomodating you!

DJC49,

You really don't believe Jesus Christ wrote the Scriptures, do you?

Hranek is right, calvinists reject the simplicity of the gospel of Christ and many follow their pernicious ways. They say men cannot be saved by believing and the Scriptures say men must be saved by believing. The Bible says by faith men are saved, and the calvinists say they do not have faith, and I am inclined to believe them!

This leaven is increasing daily like leaven does!

The Scriptures record Jesus Christ saying in the context of the kingdom:

Mt 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

The men who are here denying the everlasting covenants that God has sworn to with an oath are promoting the Satanic kingdom and is opposing the kingdom of God and his Christ.

They have believed none of the words that God has used in his covenants to Abraham, David, or Jesus Christ as they relate to the everlasting perpetuation of this people he has created as his very own and through whom he has and will bless the whole world.

The covenants are more important than his own name and he will keep them and if someone tries to supplant them with a so-called covenant of works and a so-called covenant of grace that the Scriptures knows nothing about, it is because of an attitude like the Scribes and the Pharisees who did not and would not accept his rule in their hearts. They, however, do not have the option of pleading ignorance because we now have the completed words of God which instructs us when, how, and why he is establish his earthly rule on the throne of David, which was never in heaven. The idea is absurd!
