John Y,

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. It doesnt matter what they get right whe they the most impirtant things wrong, like glorious gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. Besides:

1 Corinthians 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

A little leaven leavenths the whole lump John.

To be honest, Im pretty sure that it is Tony impersonating others, but I couldnt say for sure. I guess listening to half baked prophets on You Tube gets old after a while.

Matthew Henry on 2Corinthians 5:17

"This ought to be the care of all who profess the Christian faith, that they be new creatures; not only that they have a new name, and wear a new livery, but they have a new heart and new nature. And so great is the change the grace of God makes in the soul, that, as it follows, old things are passed away - old thoughts, old principles, and old practices are passed away; and all these things must be come new. Note, regenerating grace creates a new world in the soul; all things are new. The renewed man acts from new principles, by new rules, with new ends, and in new company."

Never said it was fleshly regeneration, but that the spiritual regeration initiates a desire to live a holy life.

Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Free grace,

I posted those verses to show that if there is no sanctification in ones life, there was never any regeneration, thats all. Of course, sanctification is not immediate and is an on going process like you said. I see you have many people to respond to, so Ill leave you alone.

John 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 12:40 HE HATH blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Free grace,

Of couse the verses I posted were about discipleship and sanctification thats the point. The Holy Spirits work of sanctification leads us away from that which is contrary to Gods word. If there is no sanctification in ones life, there was never any regeneration. Again, I am not saying Christians do not sin, but there most definitely is a change in attitude towards sin, and a desire to obey God. But if you wish to demonstrate salvation with no sanctification, you go right ahead.

Free grace writes:
Not by how much fruit we bring, not by trying to quit sinning or anything else. We should walk in te spirit as he is in spirit but if a save man walks in the flesh that does not mean he not saved. He simply just walking in the flesh

While I agree that Christians still sin, if they are living a life of habitual sin, or bear no fruits of their salvation, it would be obvious that they were never truly saved.

Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

"On stage, he outlines no transgressions for which sinners must repent, gives no soaring evangelism and no lesson in morality. He returns repeatedly to the same simple theme, telling the faithful to turn from darkness to light, from Satan to God."

So he tells them to turn from Satan to God, but never speaks of sin or repentance? How will they know what they are supposed to repent of? And where is the gospel of Jesus Christ? Just more dead religion for the masses.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

John Y,
A saved individual can never be wrong because they are guided by the Holy Spirit in everything they do.

Christopher,

There is probably nothing I can say that will help you much, but I will recommend a sermon by Charles Spurgeon called "Faintness and Refreshing" that may encourage you, maybe you can find it online.

I'll be praying for you brother.

Its about time he is dealt some discipline. Also, its easy to point out his many faults, but I think its important that we remember to pray that God humbles him, and leads him away from his irreverent behavior.
