How shameful, but certainly not a surprise. I don't see where the denomination is of any importance, for sin has always infiltrated all denominations. The true bride of Christ is from every denomination; tribe, tongue, nation...Sexual immorality and perversion are more and more prevalent in our society as Christ is continually rejected, and people live for their own fleshly lusts and desires, having no fear of the Living God, and denying His authoritative word.

Did it ever occur to you the Sons of God were fallen angels? This is NOT a reference to space aliens. The 120 year reference is how long Noah preached repentance, as he built the ark, then the flood waters came. The giants are not a reference to space aliens either, I suggest you get yourself a good study bible {personally I prefer John MacArthur's} and pray asking for wisdom and discernment. You are a prime example of what happens when people twist God's word to fit their propaganda, their theories. How sad for you. Have you noticed all other posts are against yours? You are in the minority. You can believe in aliens if you like, but scripture does NOT SAY specifically anywhere that space aliens exist. You are adding to God's word to fit your theory, this is dangerous. Leave well enough alone.

bible person- we don't need your propaganda, if we wanted to read about aliens and such, we would all go out and buy the latest edition of National Enquirer. You prove NOTHING with scripture, because scripture does not say aliens exist. Sadly, you don't realize how silly you sound. Seriously, you don't understand the warnings in the bible about adding to God's word {Proverbs 30:6, Deut.4:2}, please be careful, there is a price to pay for doing this.

Bible Christian, Did you read the earlier post concerning 'the earth was w/o form and void' from jille's posting? This explains your gap theory, may I draw your attention to AIG's article stating this, 'the Hebrew word for 'was' really should be translated 'was'. It should NOT be translated 'became'. It is the Hebrew verb of being 'hayah', and normally it is simply translated 'was'. In all the standard translations of the Old Testament, that is the way this verse is rendered.' I point this out again for your benefit, you are misinterpreting one line, and from that you come to the conclusion that a gap exists, even though this is NOT what the bible teaches. When scripture is tweeked and twisted, that opens the door for deception and dangerous heresy.

Micheal, AMEN!!! I won't quote scripture, because I refuse to waste time debating with those of an opposing view, the days are evil, and we are fast approaching the return of our Lord and Savior. I do not want to be scolded by Him for wasting precious time bickering, we must keep focused on what matters most; people are dying daily w/o hearing the gospel. Could it be because we are too busy in heated discussions to proclaim the good news?

There is an interesting story concerning Mr. Graham at onenewsnow.com/Persecution/Default.aspx?id=113830
It seems he is opposed to any kind of missionary work during the Olympics. He also says he wanted to encourage authorities to resolve conficts with the church, but would not criticize policies that critics say limit the church's independence and religious rights.
Ingrid Schlueter at sliceoflaodicea.com says it best, 'then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men".

The actual death toll now stands at over 9,000 people, that number is expected to rise. This is terrible, along with the recent cyclone, and tornadoes, maybe it's time we quit arguing over who has the best bible translation, who has the proper interpretation of scripture, who has the most 'godly' wisdom, etc., and get out and warn people to repent, for the wrath of God is being poured out on a rebellious world. We are all partly to blame, because we waste time here debating endlessly over trivial matters, and within a matter of minutes, 9,000 lives are lost in the blink of an eye. We are called to proclaim the gospel of salvation, and perhaps we all started to do just that {I am speaking to myself just as loudly as I am speaking to all who post here}. May God have mercy on us.

Revelation 17:13, 'These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast'.
Obviously, there will be a one world government, according to God's own word. How this will come about isn't entirely clear yet, but perhaps the EU is a part of this overall picture. The catching away of believers will take place, but the exact time is not given. So to debate this is to leave oneself open to tempers being flared and harsh words to be spoken. God has not called us to spend hour upon hour debating with believers, He has called us to proclaim the gospel to a lost and dying world, a world that is getting worse by the day and needs to hear the good news.

God can use the KJV, the new KJV, NASB, ESV, Geneva, etc., to change the hearts of those whom He saves. Most born again believers use several different translations, including my pastor, to study from. For anyone to insist on one specific translation and accuse those who differ as being deceived is just not biblical. We all grow in Christ according to God's word, regardless of translation, if we truly belong to Him. Let's remember to be careful with our words, not accusing the brethren falsely. We must bear in mind the need for humility, choosing our words carefully so we do not sin against God or offend our brothers\sisters in Christ.

GG, the verses I gave you are not a fundi or prot propaganda, they are the powerful, life changing written word of God. You can disagree if you like; God's word will not return to Him void. I pray He will open your understanding, be gracious and merciful and save your soul from what everyone's sins deserve, the lake of fire.

GG- I was reading from 2 Timothy 2:23, and you came to mind, 'But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife'. You have been given the truth, the gospel of salvation based solely on God's word, yet you cling to sacred tradition. You cannot be saved unless God grants it, He must draw you to Christ {John 6:44}. You must repent and receive Christ {John 1:12}, which means you acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, submitting to His authority and take instructions from Him through His word {'man shall not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord' Deut. 8:3}. You must be born again, God gives a new heart and spirit to all who are {Ezekiel 11:19}. The evidence of the new birth is a changed life, from the inside out. The heart is humbled, and beats solely for Christ; if the heart is unchanged, then no salvation has taken place. Words, actions, and deeds are evidence of this powerful new birth Almighty God grants. I pray God will save you according to His word, His way-- not based on works, but His amazing grace. Time is not on the lost souls' side.

GG- idol worship can be anything you put first over God, for instance, materialism, money, drugs, family, church doctrine, dead people, etc. Idol worship is not limited to inanimate objects.
Silly prots only repeat what you RCC'rs say when you greet your pope, you address him as 'holy father'. Again, how do you justify going against the very command of Christ not to call anyone on earth 'father'? If your pope were truly born of God, he would humbly denounce such a title and demand all to worship God...notice, I said IF. My input on where followers of false doctrine spend eternity is based on truth, the holy bible ALONE. May God have mercy on you, humble you and draw you to His Son, and grant you the new birth.

gg- the fact that the pope is addressed as 'holy father' is proof he desires worship. Jesus warned against calling anyone on earth 'father', only Almighty God is worthy to be called Holy Father. Once again, the RCC ignores the commands in God's word and deems it necessary to set up idol worship in the vatican, then proceeds to pray to a mortal woman, a maidservant saved by God's grace, forgetting the commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me", "For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God". How do you get around that? Just overlook it, and let church 'tradition' take the place of the authoritative word of God! How terrifying it will be for this harlot of a church, the RCC,and all who love her, on the day of judgment.

Lance, you would be better off sticking to RCC websites, you will not be able to lead astray those here whom Christ holds in His hand. No blood bought born again believer will come over to your side, trading the precious blood of Christ and the saving grace of Almighty God for apostasy, deception, rituals, make believe sacred tradition, idolatry, salvation by works...after all, salvation is a 'gift'...if you've ever received a gift, you should know, it is free, no hocus pocus necessary. May God have mercy on you, and open your blind eyes and deaf ears, humbling you and granting you eternal life, according to His word alone.

Lance, if you do not follow the bible from Genesis to Revelation, if you see church doctrine as having authority over God's word, then you are still in your sins. No one can come to Christ unless the Father draws him {John 6:44}. Almighty God is the ONLY one who can humble a heart, open a blind eye and a deaf ear, and enable a lost sinner to see his true spiritual condition. It has to be felt in the heart, not memorized in the head and practiced through rituals and tradition. That is exactly why the RCC belief is useless, it is based on man-made teachings and traditions. There is no involvement of the heart, which is what the Lord desires, "My son, give me your heart" Proverbs 23:26. When Peter addressed the crowd in Acts 2, verse 36, 'therefore, let all Israel be assured of this, God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ'..notice verse 37, 'when the people heard this, they were CUT TO THE HEART and said to Peter and the other apostles, 'brothers, what shall we do?' The heart was broken and then ready to receive Christ. Has your heart been broken? Is there a change from the inside out? There can't be if you insist on sacred tradition and rituals that are robotic, leaving out the vital key, the human heart.

Lance, the 'magic acts' priests do with bread and wine do NOT gain anyone entrance into heaven. As for the Lord's supper, the bible says, 'do this in REMEMBRANCE of me', not as a means of salvation, but as a reminder of the price Christ paid. Only those who are broken and contrite over sin, repent and believe in the gospel are saved. Christ paid it all, nothing needs to be added. The only baptism that is essential is the baptism of the Holy Spirit {John 1:33, water baptism is symbolic of the change taken place in the new believer's heart. The heart is the key in salvation and being born again. The man-made 'works' added by the RCC are not biblical, they are traditions man invented. "They worship me in vain, their teachings are but rules taught by men" Matt. 15:9. If what you believe is not found First and Solely in scripture alone, then your belief is useless. Your RCC ignores God's word when it goes against their belief, they allow homosexuality in the priesthood, cover it up instead of removing them, they call a mortal sinful man 'holy father' even though Christ warns to call NO ONE on earth father {Mat. 23:9}, they pray to Mary, a mortal woman, never commanded in scripture anywhere.

we are all entitled to our own views concerning the catching away, this is something that no one should belittle one over, for not everything in scripture is crystal clear. Let's remember to keep unity within the body, not dividing over something that is not specific. Whatever ones' view may be, pre, post, or mid, the command is to love one another, preach the gospel, and keep watch!

TT- you bring up an excellent truth, let's all pray for those who are blinded by the RCC, this truly is a tragedy much too big to ignore. It demands our prayers, as many are following the pied piper right into the pit of hell. This is so sad and heartbreaking, we must never lose sight of the fact that precious souls are at stake here. Thank you TT for putting things into perspective.

John Y.- any religion that brainwashes its members, adding works as a necessity for salvation, not using God's word as the only authoritative source and means, is a cult. If you truly are saved, then your heart would be regenerated. The heart is what the Lord desires, not requirements man has made. "My son, give me your heart, let your eyes observe my ways" Proverbs 23:26. A changed heart desires to be obedient to God's word, reading it daily and being transformed by it. Traditions and rituals cannot change a heart, they can only keep the mind held hostage to the 'salvation by works' theory. Repentance means to turn from sin, it doesn't mean we continue repeating the same offenses over and over, expecting some mortal to forgive us if we confess. Since we are born sinners and in bondage to it, only a true born again believer can overcome sin, by the power of the Almighty and His word, which acts as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting away the sin as we read. Sacred tradition has no power over sin.
