I agree Jim. I think the guy is sincere, but he's most likely coming off an emotional high that three weeks of intensive counseling engender.

I don't doubt the Lord could instantly take care of the homosexual tendency, but I don't think such an encounter with the Lord would lead Haggard to claim such sexual urges as "acting out" and inspire him to go to Missouri to study psychology.

Maybe it's just me. Anyone else been touched by the Lord and then overcome with the desire to study psychology in Iowa?

Hey I love the guy. God bless him, but he should maybe stay out of the news for the good of all for a bit.

"hopefully head off the discomforting trend of commenters here to bash people."

Well forget about it and don't do it again. In fact we don't want to see you forgiving anyone ever again. Repent of that forgiveness and when you're through repent again.

Repent and forgive no more!

FWIW I think it's very important that we develop our relationship with the Lord to where no person can come between it before we join a church.

Maybe that's where you're at. Maybe you should just spend time with the Lord for now.

Anyway I'm sorry you've had trouble, but for sure our individual relationship with the Lord is far more important than our need for fellowship.

Paul took off for the desert alone for what? 5 years? Then he started churches.

Sounds like you're on the verge of a wonderful breakthrough. Chase love first always, knowing you're forgiven.

You will Overcome.

Peace.

IMO It's amazing how little we citizens know about the real reasons for our soldiers to be committed to battle.

As they say, the first causality of war is the truth.

I've been doing a little reading about Vietnam and WWII, and like then we're at the mercy of our elected officials and the secret info they base their decisions on.

I think the best thing you can say about war is sometimes it's necessary. Lets hope when we learn all the details that turns out to be the case here.

We support the cause but our young people our priceless.

At any rate Kenny we're believing all the mighty spiritual power of the sermonaudio group, along with the prayers of many others, will see your David home safe.

He's lucky to have a Dad who's strong enough so that he knows he can confess his fears to him.

I got a little inspiration from the fact that he shared that with you.

God Bless You Brother

It's also an escape. Something to distact from that still voice that whispers from within people.

I always cringe when unsaved friends will say in a flipant manner, "I love player X so much he's god to me." Ugh.

Cbc

Why do you assume I'm not hurting? Why do you assume I don't go to bed hungry? How do you know I haven't been beaten for nothing by a drunk father? How do you know I don't have heart trouble?

What do you know about want and need?

What affect does that have on my spirit? My love for the Lord and how much he loves me, and the joy that brings me?

What do you know about love Cbcpreacher?

I see very little of it in your responses. How come? Isn't that what it's all about?

bro

Thanks for the correction. What I meant was I go were I want to, and I certainly would never step foot in a strip club. I don't want to.

I would not allow myself into an X rated situation and very very rarely an R rated situation. I just don't want to.

I suppose ol Bono can defend himself. I like to take people at their word, and it's not in dispute that this band was formed at around the same time as shared conversion to christianity at Bible Study.

Peace bro?

Bro

I don't own a TV. I don't watch TV.
I mean NEVER.

"You ever seen that clip of him on stage dressed up as satan? or heard those specific comments he made at golden globe awards... or the money he spends for dinner... or the company he keeps (clinton, gates, john paul ii, etc.)"

That's why I have no idea what any of this means and I'm wondering how YOU know about it.

What I know I read.

A Christian can go anywhere with anyone and do anything. It's not where he is it's WHO he is. A person of strong Christian faith is with people who are lost to influence them.

Does Bono do such? Well I don't know for sure, but Springsteen called him a Rock & Rolls preacher, so he sure ain't hiding it.

He's in Christianity Today proclaiming his beliefs. Who cares what he pays for dinner. It's not like the guy can go to McDonalds without trouble, and people who eat in Kings Palaces need witness too.

The guy witnesses. What more do you want from him.

This is outrageous to be talking about other confessing Brothers this way.

... Bono tries really hard...
yeah, and he succeeds...

at being a dip

he aint worth the powder...

Gee I was absent that day of Bible study.

U2 was formed right around the time all the band members became believers through participation in a small bible group.

What are you guys running them down for? They are Christian Brothers.

I think it's cuz they look they're having to much fun...can't be Christian...look at em they're jumping around and happy...somebody stop this fun! Are you sure you're not Catholics?

Here in lies the problem IMO. And IMO it's a people problem not a God problem.

"a good old fashioned dose of focusing on repentance from sin and dying to self."

I agree with that cbcpreacher with all my heart, but it sounds like two doses of cod liver oil followed by a classroom ruler over both sets of knuckles.

However the reward of dying to self is AWESOME. One second spent in the glorious explosive love of Jesus lingers on your spirit for years and changes you forever. It is eternal hope and beauty without compare! It also happens to be free. That's what we're presenting.

Why can't we present this free package of perfecetion any better than beg for mercy and admit your worthless...even if it's true.

Am I going in circles?

Whatever Good can come of politics it is never true, or honest, rarely is it just, never pure, and certainly not lovely, maybe once in awhile something of good report; but on the whole very little virtue, and far to much praise.

I find politics to be a necessary evil to be avoided whenever possible. For us the quest is not a candidate but:

whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Make this the politics of your life my brothers.

This is a most difficult problem from the political end as even if you disregard religion on this issue, Isreal is a free and democratic nation, and a President would be likely to support them on that basis alone. Just like any other free people with a representative Govt, No?

Taiwan for instance.

Jim from Nebraska

That link didn't work. Could you check it? I'd be interested in that sermon.

The believer and politics is the one I'm after.

Gino LOL. Only a New Yorker.

Bear population is exploding too. I recall a story of a brown bear victim found dead with his empty .44 magnum lying some distance away at the attack site. Not enough power.

Here in MA during bird hunting season hunters are not allowed to carry the correct slug to stop a bear.

Most of the guys are with you on this Gino and carry what they need anyway.

Also croc reports in local lakes. Wildlife is expanding and these stories are not going to stop.

There is more proof that certain factions in this country are seeking political gain on the back of those poor dead souls, lost in battle, than there is of any profiteering by this President.

I'm sorry you feel that way Tim.

I believe this President cares deeply for the men and women lost on his watch.

I believe anybody would hope to get the benefit of the doubt on that one. Would you want the benefit of the doubt on that Tim?

I feel Bill Clinton was also subjected to unfair and cruel personal attacks.

We should all throw our TV's out the window and stop watching these wretched "news" shows.
