cbc just to add to your fine post, I have two teenage boys. I like to tell them, constantly, that they're never alone with a young lady. That girl is a child of God and her heavenly father is always with her. I do the best I can with my boys, but I know they will be tempted, as we all are. I want the boys to know the joy of the heavens when young people take the spirit of the Lord out with them. I also like to try to paint a picture of the ripple affect all their actions have, and how truly empty animal like, lustful living is. It really is a wasteland. It’s a pit that will not allow itself to be filled. These are passions of mine. It seems like a subject you take to heart as well. I would love to work with young people some day. I feel we can do so much better than we are. bro Williams correctly, IMO, points out that so many moms are carrying the same baggage and they pass it along. We Christian men have a lot to offer. So many women and young girls do not understand unconditional love. How it can free them from the worldly pressure. I guess that's why you address the dad's. It really is a key that men hold, but then SBGG brings out a good point too. |

NeilI understand what you're saying. In the last few months we've read about church closure, cutbacks in benefits to priests who can barely afford to eat on what they now draw, and the RCC selling their interests in hospitals. In my community two prominent RC high schools have had to merge due to declining enrollment and revenue drop-off. These are big name schools that had tremendous community prestige at one point. Parents just don’t want their kids going there anymore. In the US, from what I see, they're struggling badly at present. Maybe this is temporary and the threat is real, I don't claim to know, but at this point in history, at this moment, the RCC is reeling in the US IMO. |

I think finding people that believe the Bible is easy. Finding people that understand it is very hard. I’ll keep on chasing the love of God, and enjoying other worldly peace in his presence. You keep right on getting those words in exact order and those numbers right perfect. I'm sure you're doing fine. |

Well there's no need to leave Iraq. There are plenty of military types in Afghanistan to go into Pakistan and deal with them.Cept we don't have the political OK to do so. Think of Cambodia during Vietnam war. This is likely to work out as well as that did. You know this is just a hunch but I don't think the US military likes Hi Altitude fighting. They can't co-ordinate fire support with ground troops, nor can helicopters be brought in for fire support, reinforcements, and evacuation quickly. I think this is what happened at Tora Bora, but this is just a guess. |

Is it just me? I'm no world traveler, but at least in the US nobody really cares what the church in Rome thinks or says. They have almost no influence in this country. Then I listen to some of the sermons on this site and I wonder who they're talking about? I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but the RCC can't even feed it's members in the US. |

cbc, if I may, Previously I left you an emotional response to a reasonable post and I regret it.If you are indeed a pastor, you deal with more "want and need" in a week than I deal with in a couple of years, so I'm sorry for my overly dramatic post. I was out of line. I'm not advocating this guys position. I thought some might find it interesting though. Some topics I think it's okay to debate back and forth and throw points about to get reaction. I have very little knowledge in this area personally. It’s just not something I’ve had to think about, and it really is best left to those who have studied it out. I have not. There's a lot at stake for everyone, so I defer. |

I ran into a website gaysoul.com while surfing. Now I know what you're thinking but forget it At the time I was looking for people who operated in the gift of discernment.A gift I find fascinating. Mike from New York (the happy guy) asked about this gift early in one of the tongues thread but it got buried and nobody replied. Mike asked, as I wonder (why is this the overlooked gift of the spirit?) I covet earnestly discernment but no luck as of yet. Anyway this gay gent went on a quest for the love of God. His story is very interesting if you can read it with an open mind. There are homosexual art type pics which are tough to look at, but I enjoyed this Brothers story. He's gay and a super loving Christian and I don't doubt him on either point. He also operates in the gift of discernment in a powerful way. |

Animals become much more dangerous to humans after they've killed one or taken food from one. That's why gators, bears, cats, etc etc are hunted until destroyed after they kill people. So when "animal lovers" feed wild animals, or become food for wild animals, the animals then view humans as a food source and must be destroyed. I believe that's probably why the zoo is now a more dangerous place for people, and this poor woman who loved this cat probably signed its death warrant. I'm not a real extreme person, but I do take idolatry to extremes. I believe politics, sports, animal worship, book reading, TV, the internet and a whole host of other things qualify as idolatry in our Western culture. What was once probably a healthy hobby may have become an obsession and perhaps idolatry, due to the lack of the one most important thing in this woman's life. Of course she didn't deserve this at all. I don't mean that. I'm very sorry for her and her family. |

"The clash at the end of noon prayers..."Here I can sympathize though. I mean for me I can barely control myself after noon prayer. Noon prayer just brings out the stoner in me. I can't even pray at noon anymore around rocks...as soon as I'm done if I see a rock I hurl it and chant "Death to Israel." The real problem here is noon prayer and rocks and bottles and things like this all mixed together. Lethal. Don't go blaming the religion of peace or I'll get you after evening prayer. Evening prayer really brings out the stoner in me. I can't even pray at night with rocks around but that's another story... Another day in the life of the "religion of peace." |

What is going on here? In my lifetime I have never heard such extreme saber rattling. Not even from Hussein on the verge of war, nor from NATO or Russia at the height of the Cold War.Iran must really feel they are on the brink of war. I don't feel that way, but then it's probably because they're so guilty. Killing people in Iraq...developing nuclear weapons...terror activity. They probably figure they must be on a list somewhere. Anyway I wish they would tone down the rhetoric. It only leads to: "Oh yeah? Well my dad is bigger than your dad" type of stuff. |

Thanks Neil.I need to apoloize to TB from Canada as well, as he is correct in that Haggard does not need us to forgive him. He needs God to forgive him. I joked around with that point and probably shouldn't have. Mathew started the thread with "I forgive him," and further stated he wanted to head off some negative comments. A lot of people come through here and are drawn to the passion the regular posters display towards the Lord. It's genuine and awesome, but almost all ask where is the Joy? Where is the love? Where is the Peace? How can such a great group of Bible reading Brothers and Sisters not display the fruits of the spirit? You are a great group too, but I'm not the only one who has asked this question here. I pray you'll consider. You all have great knowledge to offer. Heck I learn something in almost every thread and every link! Thank you. |
