Whoa...silly me. Who knew that the Archbishop of Irish Armagh would be from some foreign country like England. But, hey...keeping the Limies outa Ireland has always been a problem.

In RC religious practice, prayer is not always the same as worship. Repeat! In RC religious practice, prayer is not always the same as worship.

"Where in scripture does Christ command us to pray to Mary?"

Resp: Where in scripture does he tell us not to?

In RC theology, the Church is one undivided Family....the dead...and the undead. For God is the God of the Living and not the dead. Futhermore, Christ commands us to "pray for one another". No where does he caution us to follow suit only if we're still living.

Mary is the 'Queen Mother' to Christ as King, in the same way as Solomon and Bathseba. People would ask the 'Geborah' for a favorable answer from the King. The King was free to say 'yes' or 'no'. For an occasion where the Queen Mother asked and the King said 'yes' (with some reservations)...read the story of the Marriage at Canaan.

Mary needed Jesus as her Savior, though she herself was preserved from sin. This favor was granted by God the Father because of the salvidic actions of her son, since she was to be the spotless vessel to carry God to men. This is why she is sometimes called the 'Ark of the Covenant'.

Your right, but I don't believe in the fairy tale of the "Righteous Fundi" any more. Put any two Fundi's on a deserted isle and....'viola!'....instant religious warfare. You guys can't even live with yourselves.

EA: You are thinking like a man, in only 4 dimensions. God is beyond time and space, he is beyond our physical senses and our logic. God the Father gave Jesus all Authority and said, "Sit at my right-hand until I make your enemies, your foot-stool". Jesus also said, "I am with you always...". He CAN sit at his Father's right hand AND be present with us in the Eucharist. To limit God the way that you imply is almost childish. You imply that all knowledge is found within the scriptures, but even the bible says that there was more written about Jesus that could have been contained in books, but those books would fill the whole world. Not even the bible claims to be the entire rule of faith. The Church was founder by Christ to teach and preach not to write. The bible is the crutch that the Church stands by. The Church is the "pillar and bulwark of truth" - 1 Tim 3:15. If the bible contains all that we need to know, then why does God send the Holy Spirit to "lead us in all truth"? The RCC does not teach that the Mass is a re-execution of Jesus, but rather a re-experiencing of his death by us in the present. Read John 6. To have life in you, you must eat his flesh and drink is blood.

I understand how you feel. But, I can point to the same occurences of violence against Catholic people. Where does it get us? Tit for tat...move...countermove. For the record, I do not approve of the Inquistions. One does not change one's adversary's mind by cutting off his head. But, you do fill his son and his kinsmen with hatred to fight against you. The years echo with the accusations against the RCC for what they did. It was wrong. Know only that Protestants are capable of such things too and only need the right conditions to commit the same sins, and have. Based on the hatred that I feel on this sight for Catholicism, I think it's only a matter of time before the "Know-Nothings" start burning Churches and beating Clergy. Remember...Anti-Catholicism: America's favorite and longest lasting prejudice.

EA: Perhaps your god can only be in one place at a time, but my God is omnipotent, omni-present, and capable of the miracle of the Eucharist. Catholic's believe in God's Word (Scripture) and Christ's oral teaching as given orally to the Apostles and passed down to their disciples (Holy Tradition...that why its called Holy). If God doesn't continue to act in your heart, you will be in hell too! OSAS is wishful thinking ("not every one who says 'Lord, Lord...'"-Matt 7:21). My posts are filled with irritation, I don't hate Prots. I save any hatred for those who kill my countrymen. When you attack Christ's Church you attack me personally.

MH: You insult my intelligence with your lame canard about Catholics worshipping the same god as moslims. As I have pointed out on many occasions, they worship the one Creator God that we all serve, but they aren't aware of his true teaching's, rather they choose to fellow Mohammad, a false teacher.

DJC49: Please do some research before you accuse. The RCC does not believe that we re-execute Jesus...y'all believe that we do. We say the Mass is a real re-experiencing of the first Crucifixion...therefore we also believe that Jesus died only once.

MH...you forget that I'm part Irish. We are used to tyranny coming from our "Full Gospel, Born-again, Bible-Believing Brothers" in the UK and the USA.

In the Jewish Synogue of Jesus' time and before...they stoned you with real, honest to goodness rocks. Sounds to me like God doesn't much like heresy. One Phd on EWTN doesn't add up to a reintroduction of the Inquistion, I've heard equally gruesome acts proscribed by the supposed
"Good people" (e.g.-fanatics) of SermonAudio.

MH: Science works on a different MO than Religion. Questions need to be asked if only to get the discussion out of the way for the next question. In Religion there are a few solid unassailable concepts, while to have unassailable concepts in Science invites the widely known and much complained about (especially by Prots)Gallileo and Capericus scandals. The only reason for a Science that is shackled by constipated thinking is Tyranny. MH...interested in tyranny?

MH: The Trinity: God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit....no Allah...not now...not ever! Next Lie?

TAC: Ignorant Christians have been predicting who the AC is for 2000 years...welcome to the club!

"It seems that the inquisition is on its way."

Resp: If so, then it will either be a Protestant one or an Islamic one, but without the 'Inquiry' part....just the torment and killing part. Certain Prots are filled with demonic hate for Rome...the Moslims just hate all Christians regardless of theology.

"A slap in the face for the Arch Bishop of Canterbury who continually flirts with Rome."

Resp: The Archbishop of C. deserves to be slapped, but for flirting with Apostacy, (even more so than Prots usually flirt with A.) not Catholicism.

Lincoln is rightly or wrongly credited with ending slavery in the US and he is an icon in the fight against slavery even today. Darwin broke the old mind-set of the past and caused science to take another look at the facts. Which more important ending human misery or human ignorance? God knows!

The Govt, in particular the Govt of Colorado, should stop and take heed. The Declaration of Independence says that all Govt derives its right to rule from the consent of the governed. The US Constitution restricts the Govt from denying our right to worship God as we see fit or to express ourselves as a free people. The last Govt that abused our rights got it's nose slapped...the next one might not fare so well!

Is Preacherjond correct or is Jesus Christ? Preacherjond says that Christ's Church is the Church of the Devil...the Preacher should know...he does the devils work for him out of ignorance...we hope!!! But, Jesus says, "...the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it...". If the RCC serves the Devil then Jesus made a boo-boo! Me thinks the Preach is full of beany weenies!

Perhaps, my dear EA, your view of the situation is skewed a bit by your blind hatred and ignorance of what is evidently too high for your senses to grasp. All reasonable men know that less than 2% of all American Catholic priests had anything to do with the recent pedophile scandal, those priests that were accused of wrong-doing were removed from dealing with children, those found guilty went to jail, others were released from the priesthood. I say, if there is proof that a priest or a bishop is guilty...take them both to jail...today!!! The only voice defending sin is in your narrow mind. The notion that the RCC must read and understand Church disipline by Prot standards is ludicrous.

Dr P and EA continue to play the 'I'm Holier than thou' card. The reason is not because they are in fact holier, but rather they see themselves in competition for warm-bodies with the RCC. With them it's just good old fashioned competitiveness and not morality. If it were, they would remember the frailty of man and not be so quick to judge, when their own pastors could be just as guilty. Catholicism has paid a big price for 'Princes of the Church' who wink at wrong-doing. The Catholic Layman is not willing to bank-roll 'Sodom and Gomorrah'...just ask them. The Pope has asked for forgiveness on this issue and I trust that he will be faithful to bring this blyte on our honor to an end. But, if not...we laymen will certainly ask why not! For y'all to point to our mote, is to ignore your own timber! Therefore, the hypocracy is yours alone!
