http://blog.catholic-convert.com/?p=1522"So, what do we have? Cut out the Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican and Marginal Christian groups and you end up with 31,121 Protestant and Independent Protestant denominations. So, I sincerely apologize for being 1,879 too high when I said the number was 33,000. That works out to 5.6% in error. You all have my sincere apology (tongue in cheek) :-) By now, 7 years beyond 2,000 AD used by World Christian Encyclopedia, I suspect my number is now too low and maybe I should raise it to 39,000, the number listed on the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary site." By Steve Ray - "Steve Ray's Blog" August 20, 2008 MyResp: At 25k, I was being kind! |

Molly: "Does anyone care about this?"Resp: Yes, I do! Britain has a long history of persecuting the Irish and faithful Catholics. Let the Archbishop of Canterbury be the Head of the English Church during the reign of Catholic Kings or Queens. This ban on Catholics in the Royalty is the final thumb in the eye of fairness. Let it go! EA: "you have...nerve claiming the RCC is responsible for the gospel...validate your claim." Resp: Not nerve, just history and logic. We must note that Catholicism can be traced back to 110 A.D. while any of the over 25K Protestant Sects can only be traced to the time of the Reformation (circa 1531 A.D.). During the Dark Ages and the Viking raids the Catholic Church safe guarded the Scripture in Ireland and maintained valuable manuscripts. She also defended the Word of God from destruction by the Caesars of Rome and the heresies that sprang up like weeds for 2000 years. Hidemi Williges: Yes we can say 'blasphemy' and further more we can also warn you than ignorance is no excuse! EA: "pope is the earthly head...Where would I find this in scripture?" Resp: Matt 16:18, Isaiah 22:15-24 |

NPH: "see the papists keep crawling back and appearing on the skin of SA like a rotting boil whenever the false religion is mentioned".Resp: Point of view is everything. The false religion was indemic. Think of us as white blood cells attacking a cancer. NPH: "what's wrong boys-got nothing better to do? Resp: What better use of my time than to bring you the truth which you so badly need? NPH: "single issue contributors... Resp: Whenever you decide to talk about something more interesting than a 500 year old jaunt down "Goose-Chase alley" (The Reformation) give us a call. Robert: That 'Head of State' does not require total allegance except where the person should be in service to God alone. He does not tax nor require military service like an earthly King. His Master's Kindom is not of this world, therefore your analogy fails. The Pope is not hostile to England, England is hostile to him. England should have remained with orthodox Christendom and not abandoned the true faith. The Pope is the earthly head of the Kindom of God, allegence to the Pope is true allegence to Christ. |

DJC49: "If you're going to quote Scripture, quote it accurately." --Resp: I won't quibble over numerous variations in translation, I'll let you do that. But, my meaning was clear, even if you disagree with the concept."flimsiest of scriptural citations upon which to base the honoring of Mary". --Resp: EA's question to me was, "Where in Scripture does it say to honor Mary". Since Mary was the Mother of Christ, then Jesus himself was required to honor her. Even you would admit that we are to follow Jesus' example. If that's not sufficient, then remember that the angel Gabriel called Mary, "Highly favored Daughter". This greek word is 'kecharitomene', it implies a transformation of Mary by grace to the point of perfection. This perfection is both intensive and extensive within her life. So if the angel Gabriel says that she is "perfectly graced" throughout her life, how can you deny someone holier than you are, of honor? Also, Mary says, "all ages shall call me blessed"...are you going to make her a liar? "RCC prays TO saints.Praying FOR one another is a different story". --Resp: The orginal meaning of 'to pray' was 'to ask'. When Catholic's pray they may be in worship...they may be in praise...or they may be asking for aid. God hears the prayer of his Holy ones [Saints]. |
