Greetings, I feel it necessary to provide a disclaimer for the remainder of the life of this ministry.
The Puritans, Reformers, Covenanters, Princeton Theologians, etc., operated under the assumption that the RCC had, at one time or other, been the visible, universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This, my friends, is a misconception. The Roman abomination WAS NEVER the visible, or any other form, of the Body of Christ; the Church of God's Elect.
From the days of the Gnostic to the time of the Emperor Constantine, to the installation of the first Roman Pope; these were the Dark Ages.
Constantine's "conversion" tale is in, and of itself, an indictment against the validity of the Church of Rome. "Go and conquer in this symbol", that of the Cross, is idolatry. For one, the Lord Jesus Christ told Pilate, that "my kingdom is not of this world" John 18:36 KJV.
The Cross is the instrument of His death and a curse (Deuteronomy 21:22-23). The idolatry, is the image of the Cross whether it be by wood, or stone, or any other element by which it is fashioned (Isaiah 44:18-19 cf. Exodus 20:4-5).
The point further being, that these men still held to the Roman Catholic infrastructure in the conduct of their religious practices (Sunday Lord's Day, seminary instruction, music in corporate worship, etc).
I don't know why this was kept from these men. Nevertheless, I will not pass judgment on them for something that wasn't revealed to them. Some may say, "you've already passed judgment on them". I respond with "i can only speak of what I have been shown by Scripture and plain reason. Let's discuss it together."(Isaiah 1:18).
I do not adhere to these practices that were observed by those who came before me with regard to these RCC inspired "traditions". Yet, much of the information they gave to the people of their time is still useful for today and is badly needed.
That being said, I continue on with the narrations and writing of sermons.
Your Servant,
