WOMI I simply asked for your opinion of these two verses that state quite clearly that the LORD creates evil and "shall there evil in the city and the LORD hath not done it"
The verses say nothing about judgement. Is God sovereign or isn't He?

WOMI what do you make of:
Is 45:6-7 "...I make peace, and create evil; I the Lord do all these things"
Amos 3:6 "...shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it"

JD have you ever heard the scripture of our coming to the Lord as little children. If things are as complicated as you make out, no child I know would ever be able to understand them. You display such a minefield in your explanations that even you seem to slip up and are unable to answer simple questions put to you. Try reading scripture from cover to cover while looking for the revealed Christ. He is there in every book. It is not some hidden maze of mysteries. All of scripture testifies of Him.

I believe the Revelation is actually a series of revelations given to John.
ch 1 We see Jesus Christ in his resurrection - the first and the last.
ch 2 - 3. Christ in charge of his church.
ch 4 - 5. Christ on his throne as the lamb
ch 6 - 7. Christ controls history
ch 8 - 11. Christ's call to the world to repent (the two witnesses are the Word and the Holy Spirit)
ch 12 - 13. Christ has overcome satan, the devil, the evil one. Call him what you will but the section again ends in triumph.
ch 14 - 15. Christ with his redeemed people
ch 15 - 19:10 Christ tells us again to always be ready as He is coming again for His people.
ch 19:11 - 20:15 Christ as the judge and the final judgement.
ch 21 -22 Christ will return for his bride.
As I said a series of revelations showing us who the Lord Jesus Christ is throughout history. It focuses on Him not on us. Each section begins with the incarnation and first coming and ends in praise at His return.
Do you agree with this breakup of the book?

For each of us who comment here I believe we will know exactly what the future holds within 50 or 60 years, some even sooner as the Lord calls us home.

JD you forget the main meaning of the firstfruit. It was one of the Jewish feasts - the one signifying that the harvest had begun. As Hebrews tells us the OT is a shadow of the NT. It is very significant in its timing in relation to the beginning of the harvest of Christians - the firstfruits unto salvation in Christ.

JD have you ever considered you may be looking at the revelation all wrongly. I think it is a series of revelations - each one starts with the first coming and ends with the triumphal second coming

Yamil God does not wave a magic wand over us. He calls and saves us and then begins the process of perfecting us. As we see Christ more clearly in His word we become more like Him. It is a slow process. When we die we will see Him as He is and be changed to a perfect likeness. (glorified) All the glory goes to God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Yamil don't forget Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. (Heb 12:2) He wrote it and He completes it.
We do not sanctify ourselves.

Sometimes I think it is because we segregate people at church that we lose folk as they drift from one area to another Sunday school, teen clubs, teen studies, mother's group, fathers group. Whatever happened to the people of God of all ages studying and encouraging each other as a church?

Surely the purpose of the church is to glorify God in everything we as members of that church do and say.

WOMI, Your problem is that it is not one verse: it is the whole of scripture that shows the sovereignty of God. He is the author and finisher of our faith. God states clearly that it is His creation and that He is in control.

I've just read "The Incomparable Christ" by John Stott (IVP) . The 4th section deals with the Revelation of John in the way that I've always understood it. It is a series of revelations John saw - not a continual single revelation. Each revelation starts with Jesus Christ on earth and ends with His triumphal return. I'm amazed at how the dispensational premil view has taken over from this historical view.

Now we wait to see the fruit of the Spirit in her life. If the conversion was of God she will desire to know more of Him and will want to meet with others who love the saviour. There should be evidence of a real change in her life.

JD let me get this right. You say the "rapture" will occur and then the Christians (but the Christians and the Holy Spirit are gone) or is it the Jews, will suffer severe persecution. Why will they suffer they're not following Jesus Christ? Your chronology leaves me floundering.

Yamil do you have children? If so consider as a loving father, that you would require those children to ask for things they want, and to thank you for the things you give them whether they requested them or not.
In this same way our heavenly Father asks us to speak to Him in prayer. We do not know the mind of God but are told to ask for those things we want. The Holy Spirit working in and through us can enable us to ask within His will.
