I love the KJV. I think the reason most people don't like it is because like most things not liked, there's an unfamiliarity with it. Listening to preachers who preach from it has helped my familiarity with it, and over time has weaned me from versions like the NKJV and the ESV, both popular in reformed churches. It's sort of like switching from the typical American diet to a whole foods healthy diet. It may be hard at first, but in time it pays off.
I'm listening to Pastor Weaver's Civil Government sermon part 3. He makes an excellent point that Caesar is our constitution along with We the People - not our three branches of government. Our pact was with the constitution, not man! He says it's also interesting that people who quote render unto Caesar never finish the text. He goes on to say that the same God who says render unto Caesar also tells Caesar what is rightfully his. Rendering unto Caesar doesn't mean give Caesar anything he wants, because Caesar will take everything you have. Government is not God. It is subject to God just like any other of his creations.
Yeah, I saw a link for this site on Phil Johnson's Bookmarks for his Bad, Really Bad, and Really Really Bad Theology categories. Dispie craziness knows no limits.
I agree with you, WSG. Before highschool, a homeschooled child should have all the basics down. I've seen those statistics of an eighth grade graduation test from the 1800's that even today's Ivy League students couldn't pass. It shows how low education has sunk.
I agree with Pastor Slattery. Mike Slattery's one of the few preachers out there with guts to deal with the issues and take a stand against 501 c-3. And I have to respectfully disagree with you about Keyes, GG. I don't consider him to be a true conservative at all. He's a pluralist, and that's not true conservatism.
Charismania is mainly a result of feminism. As one preacher recently said, if you took women out of the movement it would disappear. The Charismatic Movement is basically the religion that comes from a matriarchal society. And that's what America basically is now and has been for some time.
Well, Wise - all that stuff is quite dandy with 33K! Who doesn't want a person who believes all that stuff running the country? Our founding fathers would be so proud. After all, like 33 said, they founded a democracy.
