Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus, the Christ, will stand before Jesus, for her salvation. Read your bibles! There is One mediator between the Father and man, the God Man, Jesus Christ. Mary has no more power to save me! You cannot put your trust in Mary, and have salvation in the precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mary doesn't sit on any thrown in heaven.

Yeah.

I can at least take some comfort in the fact that she
(arguably one of the shrewdest politicians on the planet)
feels the definite need to hire such a consultant.

It says a lot about the overall spiritual health of this
nation compared to so many others...and God's grace in
slowing our reletive moral decline.

Speaking about abortion mills, how about all the Christians who are using the birth control pill across america who are pratising aborting right in the pews. If we are to get rid of abortion, then the Church must purrify if self first before it points the finger at the world.

I only skimmed the article, having quickly deemed it unworthy of
much deep thought. Pope is basically echoing the social-Gospel
of human rights, advocated by Martin Luther King, Jr. and so many
others who seem much more focused on man's physical welfare rather
than trying to deal with his spiritual condition. Christ's parable
of the rich man and Lazarus is very helpful in overcoming such a
distracted mindset and restoring true Christian focus/priorities
regarding needs of our fellow man.

Having neither heard nor seen any news before going to work that day
I was perplexed by the unusually large number of people standing around
and talking with each other instead of working.

I did overhear someone say "...They're going to track down whoever's
responsible for this...", obliterating my initial guess that some kind
of natural disaster was the cause of all this tumult.

Overcome with curiousity I finally visited the cubicle of a co-worker
who, interestingly enough, collects postcards. She answered my question
simply by pointing to one of these cards containing a photo of the twin
toweres, and said: "You see these two buildings?...well, they're not
there anymore!". She then told me of the terrorist/plane attack which
prompted me to go home at lunch time to see the news and get caught-up.

Excellent!

May God be pleased to deliver many more of these Taliban
into our hands--AND to clense us from whatever evil on
our part that's prompting God to use them (Taliban) as
an agent to chasten/judge us...and thus (perhaps) put
an end to the fighting altogether.

Amen.

"Unemployment runs between 30 and 50 percent."

And yet:

"Iraq's economy is growing strong, even booming in places."

Other Iraqi economic indicators must be doing VERY well
indeed in order to compensate for such high unemployment.

Even so, human resources being the most valuable of all,
that 30-50% MUST become employed sooner or later if Iraq
is ever going to become and remain properous and free.

I still remember watching first seasons of "The Mary Tyler Moore"
show back in the early 70's and how utterly enthrawling that show
made the concept of the independent working woman look to many at
that time. I was too young to remember her role on "Dick Van Dyke"
show (as loving wife and mother), so I never saw the contrast/evolution
of her character in the few short years between these two shows.

Little did I know that her second show, which depicted what should
have remained an exeption, ended up being the rule and goal for so
many talented women of my generation. A "carreer of their own".

But now this article asserts the need for "...a revolution in men's
lives, too." No thanks. God ordained me and my fellow men to work,
not to have kids and keep house. Why should we men now have to make
a cultural wrong-turn in order to compensate for the one women
(at the urgings of an increasingly perverse culture) made back
in the late 60's?

Praying for Muslims is easy.

I have a much harder time feeling as if I need to
pray for those I perceive to be closer to Christ,
since I tend to think that they need it the least,
which is wrong. (Eph. 6:18)

"Asked what rules they would make if they were king or queen of the world,
the number one response from the under-10s was to ban knives and guns."

Yeah. That sounds like what most kings and queens would do. Sadly, it
looks like a fair number of "democracies" are in favor of doing this too.

"The snake was still strangling Dres when deputies arrived, and the officers had to work
with members of an animal protection group to remove the reptile, the sheriff's office said."

I guess if the guy was already dead there was no rush to remove the snake, otherwise they
should've just cut the thing off of him. It's just a snake, for crying out loud!

As a kid I was crazy about military decorations and badges of rank.

Until very recently there've been only 2 chaplain insignia badges
in the US military. One for Jews (2 stone tablets topped by star
of david) and one for Christians (cross).

Today there's one for Muslims (crescent moon), causing me to wonder
when there'll be badges for Hindus, Buddhists, etc.; and what they
will look like.

All of this also makes me wonder what the eventual effect will be on the
unity & cohesion of our armed forces, which is so vital to any military
enterprise, now that the "spiritual" (and arguably the most fundamental)
aspect of military unity is being divided-up to accommodate increasing
diversity & PC influence.

I understand Britain and Rome succeeded with their respective empires
using SEGREGATED units of varying faiths, but I don't see that happening
with our forces, since "segregation" is such a dirty word now.

I'm not much of a book-reader but I did read one about
10 years ago by a guy named Peter Duesberg that was truly
facinating. It gave very credible-sounding commentary
on the Aids issue from a scientific/medical perspective,
but sounded like minority dissention compared to what I
was hearing from the mainstream media's perspective on HIV.

...Making it hard to figure out who was right.

Never-the-less, a very interesting read.

Title is: "Inventing the Aids Virus"

Bible doesn't mention anything about a tent-making guild
for Paul or a fisherman's union for Peter, but it does
talk about one for idol-makers, which doesn't paint the
latter in a very good light...in terms of being able to
adjust their market/production to accomodate changing
social conditions without first kicking up a fuss.

Somewhere in the book of Acts.

How about a street preacher sim, where you and your online
teammates can carry out a coordinated effort to evangelize
a simulated city with AI designed to mimic real-world reprobation!

Or how about a foreign missions board sim, where you and your
fellow online Christians can evaluate and select simulated
missionary canditates for service overseas and chart their
progress as the game unfolds.

Nah! Too mundane. Not enough explosions and stuff like that.

If Justice were properly served, Dahmer, being a murderer,
would not have had much time to evangelize prior to being
executed.

Had he not been killed (justly or unjustly), he could very
well have been like the Gaderine Demoniac (Luke 8, Mark 5),
who became an evangelist following his conversion...and he
was in at least as bad of shape as Dahmer.

Quite simply, these folks are violating 1 John 1:6, among
many other passages by which they invalidate any claim to
salvation.

Even though Christ was crucified on a cross ("tree"),
I'm more with Albert, and will say "lamp".

MSC points out how the Bible frequently refers to
people as "trees", and believers as "trees of the field"
Isaiah 55:12, which is cool, too.
