Great Sermon! So what about John 3:16? I have a hard time seeing how election fits in with free will. Can you explain that? |

2 Thess. 2:1-11 "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God..." |

Eye Opener for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Awaken O' sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." |

Interesting blog, talk about a minefield. The scriptures CANNOT be correctly interpreted without referring to two specific sources of information. Firstly, the original Greek, and secondly, Old Jewish marriage traditions. Divorcing one's spouse is one issue, but let's concentrate on the remarriage afterwards. In all cases, once one has made a vow to God to marry, that vow stands until the day you or your spouse dies..........period, no exceptions. Jesus was concevied in the betrothal period between Mary and Joseph, NOT after they were officially man and wife. If they were married then God would be committing adultery and secondly, Joseph could not have thought to put her away, quietly...she would have been stoned for adultery. Once marriage is consumated it's for life, and if one divorces for whatever reason, according to scripture you may NOT remarry. If after divorcing your spouse dies, then you are free, NOT before. As far as living together, one must avoid the appearence of evil for the sake of our Lords name, why bring His name into disrepute by living in the same premises? If it's company one wants, then two detached quarters are better. At the end of the day God is not mocked, and our hearts and their motives are laid bare before Him.
