Both sides have been used by "Progressives" as they call themselves, so I would hardly make the argument that either is perfect! And what is this about the Republican party being the party of Jesus? Last I recalled, the Republican party nominated a Mormon to run for President, and I remember how much you thought about Mormons from a thread a while back. And besides, I believe the only party of Jesus is the Church, not any political party! I believe that both Republicans AND Democrats can be Christians. Religiousity is not based on what party you subscribe to, but whether you've been subscribed to the one true King of the universe!

Yes, from time to time I suffer cluster headaches which make me run down and lethargic, but nothing too serious. No doubt her comments will not be included in their nationally televised program, nor fund-raising DVDs. But I think she is revealing 'truth' in her own way--that the reason their church is so large is because everyone is there for themselves. They are there to get something for themselves. How many people in all churches are there for themselves, not for God? Perhaps next Sunday, preachers can ask their own congregations, why are you here? For many, attending in their business suits is an extension of their worklife--they make contacts that will help them in their work. They make a statement that they are 'fine and upstanding folk' that you can buy insurance or stocks or do banking with.
