Jim Lincoln wrote on the Bob Dole thread:

Farris, is a poor representative for homeschooling. he is dragging homeschooling into political argume[ nts that will just make it look bad. common core is accepted in more than two-thirds of the states, so attacking that is ignorant at best. an interesting article about people or I should say children with a great deal of religious education, The Possible Downside of Too Much Religious Training Anyway, Mr. Farris has been exposed to, too many fairy tales--from the John Birch Society.

Oh, so you're one of those people who love the idea of children being taught about deviant sex in the first grade! How wonderful! I'm sure you'd probably also like your first grader looking at porn cartoons at school! And what about those terrible founders like George Washington? I'm sure you'd love them to learn how these men were God haters, and evil caniving crooks too! Right? All of the above are taught in common core, so go right ahead and continue trashing people who actually have the guts to stand against it, if that's what you want your kids to learn.

What do you mean not necessarily his earlier post John for JESUS? Shouldn't you know whether you were referring to it or not?

Scripture alone from UK writes:

Jeremiah 10:23-24 O LORD I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, least thou bring me to nothing.

Amen brother! SteveR doesn't seem to understand these verses!

Yes General, kind of. We do not in and of ourselves control our actions. The only reason I'm typing right now is because God willed it. We are who we are, but everything we do is by God's willing it. However, God is not responsible for our sin.

We as humans cannot fully understand pre-destination. Two things are 100% true as bared out by the Bible. First, God controls everything that we do. Second, God is not responsible for our sin. The problem has been that men have tried to wrap their heads around this and so have rejected predestination. So yes, God did use Hitler, just as he hardened pharohs heart, but he was not responsible for Hitler's sin.

SteveR,

I just found another verse you might want to take a look at:

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Strat writes:

There is an old fable about the Delta Blues singer and Guitar player Robert Johnson going down to the crossroads one night and cutting a deal with the devil for talent that would make him famous...it is a lie of course because all true talent comes from God.

However if it were true then most of today's "artist" need to go back to the crossroads and cut another deal because they realy got gypped on the talent part of it.

Right on brother!

Dear Tel Sergene,

I was effering to the fact just because Hitler and Churchill were contemporaries doesn't mean that they were similar! I was not meaning that there was no reason for Hitler and Churchill to be contemporaries in God's providential plan.

Dear SteveR,

God uses everybody, even evil people, to his glory. In Exodus it says that He hardened pharoh's heart. And all throughout the Bible it reafirms that God uses everything including men for his glory. Read this verse:

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

God makes it very clear in his word that he works ALL THINGS after the counsil of his own will. Including men like Hitler.

Jim Lincoln,

So you really like obamacare? The president lied to your face telling you that you could keep your doctor, while now many people are now losing their doctors because of obamacare! This guy lied to your face, and you say it's not that bad!

Dear Strat,

You might find this verse to be a great encouragement as I did!

Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
