I have a friend who believes in the illuminati, and he's always talking about the illuminati making sure no good people can get elected, and the ones who are, are secretly illuminati members! He also believes in HARP, another conspiracy theory that posits that the Government is controling the weather! So needless to say, I do not believe in such conspiracy theories as these. Even if the illuminati were real, they are not making sure that everybody in the government are members. The illuminati is like all the other conspiracy theories out there.
The verses you sited do not imply that there's some secret organization somewhere that makes sure that only bad people get elected, cause droughts, and the like as CONSPIRACY theorists posit. Yes, there will be false prophets and false christs, but that does not mean the "illuminati" exists. These verses are perfectly true, but offer no proof for the illuminatis existance!
I didn't get to read the entire article, but I read the first couple of paragraphs that are available on SA. This is a vast over-reach of state power, and I hope the church wins this case!
While I personally don't agree with these camps, this church has the right to host a glee camp if they wan't to in THEIR building. Government shouldn't be able to get away with telling churches and/or individuals how to use THEIR property. Property belongs to the individuals who payed for it, not the state.
If we're gonna talk about opression and compasion, let's recognize that the compasionate way to treat the illegal imigrants is to put them through the same process everyone else needs to go through. Illegal imigrants have been over worked in unsafe workplace environments for less than minimum wages for years now. Also, illegal immigrants are more likely to rely on some form of government wellfair than natural born citizens. And besides that, allowing these people in through our border opens us up for a huge national security threat! Al quaeda has talked of using our open border, and al quaeda afiliated groups were caught pretending to be hispanic illegal imigrants! This is a huge threat that can't be underestimated! The compasionat thing to do is not to look away while big companies use these people for cheap labor, but to enforce the rule of law and promote EQUAL oppurtunity to all who wish to become American citizens. EVERYONE should have to go through the legal route, not just the few who actually care about recognizing our laws!
