“ Great Sermon! ”
Very good, brothers. Word trumps opinion every time. I would add that a "rapture" is indeed described in Rev 11:12, after a resurrection of dead saints in vs 11 which all occurs right at the time of the 7th and last trumpet in vs 15. This agrees with 1Cor 15:52, 1Thess 4:16, and Matt 24:31 where a trumpet and a snatching away happen.

“ Parallels ”
Isn't Genesis 6:1-5 a summary and consequence of Cain's wanderings in Nod in Genesis 4:13-24? Cain was driven out "from the presence of the LORD" and "knew his wife." Cain is referenced in 1John 3:12 as a child of the devil (much like the Jews in John 8). Cain's wife must be one of the "daughters of man" (literally daughters of ADAM possibly through Seth). Cain's son Enoch built a city (which may have been the earth's first city). Cain's great great great grandson Lamech may have been the first to practice polygamy and made a "gangsta" rap song touting his murderous exploits. One of his wives bore a son (Jabal) who was the first to be a tent dwelling cattle herder. His brother (Jubal) was an inventor and player of musical instruments. Lamech's other wife bore a son (Tubalcain) who was the first metallurgist. The point is that all of these offspring are evil geniuses; "mighty men" of "renown." Today we would call such men "giants" (Genesis 6:4). One of the Hebrew definitions of Nephilim is "bully" which would certainly fit Cain's line. Imagine the ancient world populated by a majority of evil geniuses whose thoughts of their "hearts "evil continuously." If only 3 evil spirit-filled men will control the world in the end times (Rev 16:13-14) imagine the world in Noah's day!

Why be stingy and stop at abortion? He should be magnanimous and give absolution for all sins. But of course, he can not because he has not given that authority. The Pope is not "The Son of Man" (Matthew 9:6, Mark 2:10, Luke 5:24). He has taken John 20:23 too far.

John UK, I agree in full that our goal first and foremost is to be consumed with the proclamation of the Gospel. In order to do that we should make use of every legal tool afforded by whichever government entity we have to deal with. I think the Apostle Paul gives us a good example on how to do this. He used his past benefits as a Jew and Pharisee to proclaim the Gospel in synagogues all over the empire and he used his Roman citizenry to move about the empire and gain audience with the Gentiles (he appealed to Caesar because of his citizenship). However, both the Jews and Rome repeatedly tried to legally restrict the spread of the Gospel in many ways which not only inluced fines and the taking of property and closing of businesses like here today, but escalated as we know all the way to arrest and public execution. When and where to stand for righteousness should always be done in conjunction with the spread of the Gospel even if that righteousness is civil disobedience against government turned evil. That is why we will continue to evangelize outside of Chinese state sponsored churches, we will continue to smuggle Bibles to bros and sisters in communist, Muslim, and other areas hostile to the Name. Here we will continue to pray in the Name and so on.

Should standing for the sake of righteousness be classified as a "cause?" Personally I think God's children should always be quick to stand for righteousness and not "stand in the way of sinners;" it should be their spiritual nature. And if a nonbeliever decide to stand with you for another purpose other than righteousness it doesn't mean that you are holding his hand in solidarity nor should it be a reason for you to sit down and do nothing but complain.

And as far as "whiling away time" on the commentary board on SA: I'll leave it to the Lord to reveal at Judgement how little of my time I spend and for what purpose I come here but at present that's His business and mine. Suffice it to say for now that SA is a good place to get a taste as to where believers all over the world stand on the issues of the day (although what you really get is little discussion on the issues and plenty attacks on one another), which brings me to another purpose. I "often" have to "tear myself away from this commentary board" to squeeze in a little time to pray for love and unity that often seems to go lacking here. Therefore I plead with some of you to take Paul's warning in Galatians 5:15 to heart.

If you truly think that standing in support of Biblical marriage and refusing to participate in legal supported immoral behavior fits being persecuted "for the sake of righteousness" then the Kingdom of Heaven is your blessed reward (Matthew 5:10). Seems to me that saints will do well to take advantage of this golden opportunity to go from religious theory to practical application (i.e. stop talking it out and start walking it out). It's time to do great exploits if you truly know your God (Daniel 11:32). And there have been many events and causes in the past that should have brought the saints together in support of righteousness and the opportunity slipped past because of some petty minutia that amounts to vanity. I would rather that you nonparticipants sit quietly on your hands on the sidelines and not hinder nor discourage those of who are passionate to actually do they can for the sake of the Name.

Yes, its time to buck the uncivil authorities. I'm serving God!!! Let's stand and face this thing and exalt His Name together. Suffering for the sake of the Name is far better than suffering for the sake of the shame!

Well the Christian Science Cult is hard to swallow also because they don't worship Jesus as God(As it is totally sick and demented not to worship Jesus as God).
I'm confident the article is not referencing a "cult" called Christian Scientists. The article shows that some scientists who happen to be Christians are criticizing the theory of secular scientists on how the earth could possibly maintain a magnetic field for billions of years when it should have dissipated long ago, unless the earth IS NOT billions of years old as secular (primary Darwinian) scientists hold. Scientists can be saints and saints can be scientists and praise be to God some are. These brothers and sisters help us to greater appreciate how mighty the works of our Father's hands truly are. Many such saints through the centuries have corrected the secular unbelieving world and not a few ignorant saints (I tell the truth in love) of the fact that God created the heavens and the earth according to Scripture using the scientific principles of observation and God's physical laws. I'm sure God would greatly appreciate that His children have an educated faith (i.e. according to knowledge) to see the evidence of things not seen.

Our modern day Elijahs, Isaiahs, and Jeremiahs have begun to caution our governmental institutions on their moral recklessness and their thumbing their noses at God's authority. The Supremes must not disregard the authority of the One who is Supreme in the same manner Israel's Sanhedrin disregarded God; their entire institution was completely dismantled. Yes, the push-back has begun!!!

All of your comments are worth repeating and are spot on! Much prayer, evangelism, and doing our proper civic duties within the confines of what our government allows might help to strengthen the righteous "strong man", "convert the converted reprobates", and thus avoid our own "Warsaw Rebellion."

How fortunate you are in the USA, with out an established church that such issues are and can be spoken about and are considered to be important.
Yes, we are fortunate. But alas, we have failed to capitalize on that grace and religious liberty which is now being trampled under foot by our political reps. Our saltiness is slowly leeching away where we are treated like mere dirt and our lamps are becoming so dim that we are no longer noticed. We saints both in the US and UK need our flavor strengthened and lamps trimmed in the worst way. Pray that saints in both countries be revived that our reps at least respect our stands on righteousness while we may still (like the widow) come before the judge and plead protection from our adversaries; and he hears us. "Bring us to repentance and revive us again, O LORD!"

"They called out to Lot and said, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Send them out to us so we can have sex with them!" (Genesis 19:5)

"Get out of the way!" they said, adding, "This one came here as a foreigner, but he's acting like a judge! Now we'll do more harm to you than to them." They put pressure on Lot and came up to break down the door." (Genesis 19:9)

These two verses sums up the Sodomite Agenda: 1) Infiltration, acceptance, and domination. 2) Destruction when their advances are rebuffed and demands are not met.

These are predators of the worst kind. Always ravenous, never content but always wanting more and more. And what they can not consume they destroy by disassembling.

No wonder sodomy is the lowest floor on the reprobation elevator in Romans 1. There is no lower debasement that God gives one up to. This sin reminds me of the classic zombie of Hollywood. Once someone is bitten they will in time attack and consume the ones they once loved if not cured.

Of course the one and only cure is Christ. Preach the Gospel to them "...with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh" (Jude 23); but be careful "not to give what is holy to dogs" (communion, fellowship) or they may turn on you and rend you to pieces.

Please join me in my prayers for my eldest son who has been intrusted with the body and soul of his first child, a son..;
I (and hopefully others who read your post) will indeed entreat the Lord to give the grace and wisdom that your son needs to nurture and admonish your grandson in the ways of the Lord. I myself don't have any children (yet) but I often share the same anxiety as you concerning my young nieces and nephews in a world that has grown much darker than the days when we were their age. But be encouraged new found brother and friend. Paul made a bold offer to the Phillipian jailer that the offer of salvation is freely available not only to him but also his entire household if they only "believe in the Lord Jesus" (Acts 16:31). Salvation is more than "salvation" (i.e. rescued from hell and damnation). Salvation (among many other things) involves ever increasing and progression in sanctification which includes all of the protection and resources that both your son and grandson need to not only survive but to overcome (conquer) this dark age and world. As for you, dear brother, concerning your anxieties cry out and say, "I believe (that my son's heart will be turned to my grandson). Help my unbelief (to erase my doubts).

Doctrine and catechisms that are clear and faithful to Scripture should be taught by church leaders to all of her (the Church's) members. Parents should reinforce those teachings to their children at home and "in the way" (to school, to bed, to dinner, etc.) in a manner that their children can absorb and understand.

The major problem today is that so few clergy actually know the proper doctrines. Another major problem is the many false doctrines that are being taught by heretical clergies in heretical denominations. A smaller problem is that many evangelical denominations are wedded to their own minor "pet" doctrines at the expense of being unified with other evangelical denominations over the major doctrines that are in line with "the faith once and for all handed down to the saints." Majoring on the minors and minoring on the majors.

Lastly, in this age the hearts of the fathers have been turned away from their children. The average child in this country today are "spiritual" orphans. No wonder the millennial generation in increasing numbers want nothing to do with God nor His bride.

Yeah, its ironic that people who don't vote at all complain about who wins the seats. But its hypocrisy in the highest degree that people who voted for the representatives they have still complain about the policies that these representatives campaigned on support. Plus its a no-brainer that Democrats are more monolithic in their voting than any other party so people who claim to be pro-life, for traditional marriage, and religious liberties get no sympathy from me when they blindly vote Democratic. Our President had a voting record from the Illinois state legislature and US Senate (still there for all to see). Plus he announced ahead in his campaigns the radical "change" he wanted to make in this country. His lies and leftist rhetoric was repeated over and over again on news and opinion shows. Those who voted against this man are the only ones who have the right to complain, not so much about him but about those who voted for and enabled him to be voted in not once but twice.

One more reminder: POTUS is not a religious office. Churches vote for religious leaders.

"And he (Herod Antipas) repeatedly questioned Him (Jesus) at great length; but He gave him absolutely no answer" (Luke 23:9).

If for any reason this President sought to meet me with me I would respectively decline. And if he would have me summoned into his presence as Jesus was summoned into the presence of Herod Antipas I would do as the Lord did and not say absolutely anything to him. Only unless the Holy Spirit unctioned me to give testimony or speak in response to the President's confessions of repentance and receiving God's free gift of salvation through Jesus and confess Him as Lord. That obviously is not going to occur at anytime soon.

However, it does seem appropriate that this little Antichrist would meet with heretical religious leaders (Mormons, the Pope, the Muslim Brotherhood, homosexual "Christian" leaders, etc.) to further each other's agendas. The real news for me is if the President would seek an audience with true evangelical leaders to discuss putting pressure on Congress to craft bills to overturn abortion, "gay" marriage legislation, truly protect religious liberty and free speech, etc. Otherwise all true evangelical leaders should stay far away from this President.

Yes, it is a time to "keep rejoicing, and continue to be glad" (Matthew 5:12); if you are standing up for righteousness on account of Jesus' Name! You have joined good company. And I say again, keep rejoicing!!!

"The one who loves his brother abides in the light and there is not even a hint of cause for stumbling in him" (1 John 2:10). I love you Frank. I believe you are completely guileless in your assertions. And I agree with what I quoted from you above as I do with nearly all of your posts. My comments were not meant to cause harm.

But before you "let it go" I do want to hear your opinion on what FG said in the article. Is not Obama and Holder passing and enforcing laws that are persecuting and oppressing God's elect? As I hinted at in my last post I have heard FG say some good things and some not so good things. But the thing that he said is this article is it not worthy of discussion and deep consideration?

I would honestly like to read your comments on this even if FG is not legitimate in your eyes to sound the alarm.

p.s. No, I responded to slow. "...slow to speak = slow to wrath"
