AVA...you are a broken record. We know where you stand on this...but you are wrong, like a whole lot more. He was there; the priest was there;the priest prayed (twice) and he spoke from the Bible: Ecumenical by any other name - end of story. Politics and Religion: bad mix. Keep drinking the Koolaid..... |

Anti-Vaticanist: The "trap" was of his own making. Methinks the man doth protest too much! Funny how his own D.U.P. Mayor in Ballymena (and other DUPER councillors) knew about the arrangements, AND STAYED AWAY FROM IT. If it was "not ecumenical" then why bother to defend your attendance? Sure if you are only there as a civic representative what's the problem? You can't have it both ways. It was right or wrong? That's right....it was wrong! |

I'm reminded of some classic movies starring Ian Paisley and other political figures. Paisley is perhaps best known for his lead role in "Doc", "Dr No", "The Patriot", and True Grit". Later he starred in "Absolute Power" (where he played the despotic leader of a Protestant church), and "It's my party" (a documentary on his role as DUP leader). In 2005 he was leading man in "The Negotiator" set in Scotland. His co-stars included actors from "Natural Born Killers","The Violent Men",and "Murder by Numbers"(Sinn Fein),"The opportunists"(DUP politicians, some of whom had also starred in "The cowboys"),"Little big man" (Reg Empey),and "Muppets from Space" (Alliance party). Other movie roles followed.....to be continued.. |
