After all, no person has the right to a resurrection because of sin, and Jesus is the only one who can, by grace, grant that.
Its not a question of anyone having a right to a ressurection John, it is compulsory ! By the sovreign Gods will all men, many to their horror will know that temporal death is not the end of all things. The temporal life will be seen as short and insignificant. What a dreadful day for the lost. Perhaps as you seem to suggest the ressurection of all men is part of the compact agreed by God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and God the Father before the foundations of the world were laid, it probably is but Im not sure exactly wouldnt like to say about such a deep thing . But the ressurection to damnation eternal is a dreadful reality to come

IF there was NO death!
Then what was the "tree of life" for??
Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; ***the tree of life*** also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Eating of the tree of life or the tree of knowlege before the fall was no problem since Adam and Eve were never going to die anyway and God wanted them to have lots of knowlege (the mind boggles at the contents of Noahs library on the ark) but it became a problem after the fall since a sinful man must not live for ever that is why they were not allowed to re enter the garden
I believe that the Garden was extant before the flood to the inhabhitants of earth hence lamachs insolence is even worse when after having killed two men he boasted that any one who killed him would be punished by God 70 x 7 after cain

I believe that the antedeluvian population where very clever and long lived and in consequence unbelievebly wicked even by our standards

KK does that mean that under the american constitution individual states do NOT have to sign up to the federal agenda ? IOW if a state chose to say outlaw sodomy and teach creation in schools - could they do it ?

John, Jesus ressurection was not for the benefit of all men but only for the elect, the names which God the father gave to God the Son only and only upon the completion of the work of the cross. Nevertheless, all men shall be ressurected some to everlasting life and some to everlasting damnation. All men shall receive a physical body with which to experience their new existence. 'Them that believe not are damned already'

The moment Jesus completed his comision in obedience to the father then our names were given to Him. God will overlook our trangresions for the sake of the Son because the Son gave himself for us.

You probly know this but i love it so much i just like to say it !

Well, there you go - put a motor on something, make it loud, and endless amazement from the male gender.
well I was impressed but it could be a passing fad

The staff will be on annual leave whilst we are away but i havent made any plans yet but must soon as we usually charter a yacht in greece for two or three weeks but i wouldnt mnd something different as we ahve been to the same area 5 times - where is your house - somewhere hot , near the sea or mountains ? mine is on anglesey

btw in answer to your query about salt and fresh water i believe that the earth was mostly land and the water was all fresh but became salty due to the flood - many fish can live in salt and fresh and all can change if the change is gradual

DJC yes i believe that all the pumas etc etc were herbivores before the fall, grizzly bears are herbivores which occasionaly eat fish and there are instances of Lions refusing to eat meat the original earth was 'made to be inhabited by which i take to mean that it was mainly land and mainly fertile unlike today, therefore could have supported an enormous population far in excess of today - what about reaching a vbreak point ? well sadly it was never going to happen

I believe the bible teaches that all creatures were intended to be vegetarian and we werent intended to farm or raise beasts as that would have brought death into the creation had we stayed in the Garden, but having been expelled from the Garden then agriculture and keeping animals became neccessary and of course death was introduced ;dieing you will surely die' so in the garden i am sure that all creatures were herbivore

All animals today could be vegeterian as they will again be in the millenium.

Some fierce creatures with big teeth dont eat meat like bears, they are mainly vege. The t rex was vege because its teeth are not set into the bone of the jaw enough.

CL

'So, would this not suggest that cooking (baking) was performed by Eve as part of her wifely duties?'

I am with you there CL some take this as a reference to the physical toil of field labour plowing and such but its obvious that its about eve baking, the bible addresses every area of life does it not !
i have extended this biblical teaching to hoovering and shopping.

recently, as part of my duties i visited some of my subjects at a hoover factory, i was amazed to learn that many of them posessed this technological marvel in their own homes whereas i had never seen one before!!

Mockery BY Heresy wrote:
"
WHY obey these commandments If we have been "manufactured" to do otherwise?
Aahh Because we can only "glorify" God by disobedience and obedience - BOTH of which God has CREATED in the mortal so to do???
(Neo religious theory, courtesy of DJC49 and charles)
So God then wrote the commandments for people who can't/won't obey. Then for HIS "glory" provides the ability to obey them???
Sovereignty then only works with SERVILE creatures???
we were manufactured perfect and enjoyed fellowship with God but He desires obedience and so we fell

God is not glorified by disobedience but the disobedient shall in due course glorify God in hell

whereas the repentant sinner brings glory to God by the mode of salvation - tha angels rejoice and alsi wonder at it

Mankind is not servile but very rebellious. The natural man is a hater of God and does not understand anything about God. Only when God cjooses to breathe upon the natural man will he then seek God

Good post DJC i liked the reference to God being glorified in salvation and
John Frame, good quote there one for the workshop wall

Daniel 4 : 35

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

God is the source of everything in the world

God is glorified in the plan of salvation

I have a question: why do we always assume the ancients were less advanced than us? They were certainly much smarter than we are, not dumber.
I agree, i think they were much smarter and stronger, the remains of the first post flood generations - mistakenly called neanderthals by evilutionists -found in tempertae climates have bigger bones so larger muscles, larger brain cavities, they built wooden homes in caves becasue the climate was so bad and have rickets becasue there wasnt much vegetables with it raining and being cold and grey so much

Mat 18:7 .....woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Luk 17:1 .....woe unto him, through whom they come!
"woe unto that man" Strange that Jesus blames the man - and you blame God for the offences? So who really is guilty of the offence, the creature or the creator behind this creature? Is the man being "set up"?
Question - Do you believe it was God's will that Adam/Eve ate the fruit?
You cant 'blame ' God thats a humanist view, Yes it was Gods will that Eve ate the fruit otherwise she couldnt have done it - the perpose was to glorify God in the plan of salvation. The exact workings of this are far beyond me but I can acknowlege the genearl principle

God is not 'setting ' anyone up, she chose to do it.

"woe to that man"
NOT
Woe because of the sovereign will of God.
It is implicit in the text like these:

"Then God sent an evil spirit..." [Jdg 9:23]

"an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him"
"an evil spirit from God troubleth thee"
"when the evil spirit from God is upon thee" [1Sam 16:14-16]

"when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul" [1Sam 16:23]

"the evil spirit from God came upon Saul" [1Sam 18:10]

"And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul" [1Sam 19:9]

"And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, 'I will persuade him.' And the LORD said unto him, 'Wherewith?' And he said, 'I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And He said, 'Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.' " [1Kgs 22:21,22]

"He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them." [Psa 78:49]

God will glorify Himself in all situations what is happening in Orissa will not go unpunished and His saints will not go unrewarded also its a challenge for those who are not in the same situation to offer assistance

IOW, God might have provided for their sustenance in what we would consider as supernatural or miraculous. Right?
yes i think so,this is not to say that the ark was not large enough to carry the neccessary provisions im sure ut was, but if the animals were hibernating this would have kept them fresh and rested for when it was time to get off the ark and made life much simpler for the Noahs also they might have got seasick in the bad weather

im sure Mrs Noah could have had a perfectly good 'galley' as we say at sea with a stove etc as im sure they would have had the knowlege but apparently manna is delicoius and genesis saus that God 'remebered ' Noah which i take to mean a process of caring. This would answer candleits worries oger the stove and cooking arrangements (not to mention fire hazards ?) - isnt it great the ladys are so practical !

Hey DJC i havent made ny summer holifday plans yet wanna do a house swap this summer? I have large drafty 400 yr old house in half acre woodland in the country on a wet cold island with unpredictable weather near beach and mountains - you have ...?

Yeah ...
Noah, his wife, 3 sons, and their wives, along with all those animals, were enclosed within that ark for OVER A YEAR with only fruits and veggies. All that produce stayed nice and fresh! And ... without refrigeration!
I'm wondering if God didn't perhaps put many of those animals into a state of hibernation. Less wastes to clean up after too!
i think hibernation is a good idea, also maybe they ate manna like Israel in the wilderness or had pots of oil and grain which didnt go empty like when joshua stayed with the widow who was near starvation

You've really taken a fancy to your new position of royalty, haven't you, Prince Charles?
And, to think, John, all this fancifulness started with a conversation. How quickly our idea was received. It would seem we all like our egos stroked.
well, perhaps just a little bit ? we all have our weaknesses !

Yes i quite agree about the cooking i have never cooked a thing in my life and in our house i have never seen a man cook so the women absolutely must have done all the cooking - really !

I think the Bible is quite clear about this!

Ive been reading daniel and of course they went on a vege diet in babylon to no ill effect and some years ago i used to box just for entertainment not competetively but i used to spar with the competetive boxers and do all the training which is very hard and i had been a vege for years and i managed fine i eat meat now but dont notice any difference - i think it depends upon the individual for instance Jessica does need meat - poor you jess - a gammy knee on top of your other troubles what next will we learn !? well we are all getting new bodies in the millenium so i guess you will appreciate that more than most.
