The way I see it, there’s an upside for everyone on this board (except Jim Lincoln)! Those who supported Trump get to see him as President and all those who didn’t got to keep their consciences clean! I think we can all agree to pray for both our nation and our President-elect. I really hope that he does all the good things he has promised. Blessings to all!

A. Obeying one’s conscience and following principles derived from God’s Word is doing good.
B. Being able to, without hypocrisy, call out the next adulterous, womanizing, big government, Democrat as unelectable, is doing good.
C. Sending a message to both parties that we expect more in Presidential Candidates is doing good.
D. Voting for people who fear God on the down ticket is doing good.
I voted for Darrell Castle and other good candidates because I do not believe that the ends justify the means. “And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.”~ Romans 3:8
The One who eternally rules the universe is not on the ballot and whatever trials or blessings come He will give us the grace we need.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Tim. 1:7
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32

Personally, I voted against Clinton because:
1. She does not fear the Lord or understand justice.
2. She’s a scumball.
I voted against Trump for the same reasons.

Simply quoting a person’s own words about someone else is bearing true witness. It’s a story from 2002 that I’ve seen referrenced on other web pages well before this election- not a “source” talking about an alleged statement that they just “remembered”. If it was the later, I would agree with your 9th commandment caution. As it is, the statements are a fact- what you make of that fact is totally up to you.
Speaking of the 9th commandment, do we apply it consistantly? What is your take on yesterday’s “Orgy Island” story? Do we know how reliable the “source” is? Are we as cautious when women accuse Bill Clinton? Both sides want to believe that their side is spotless and only those other people actually commit crimes or have filthy personal lives.

"And yet if you talk to Donald Trump, a different Epstein emerges. "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy," Trump booms from a speakerphone. "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it-- Jeffrey enjoys his social life." - nymag.com/nymetro/news/people/n_7912/ from the Oct 28, 2002 issue

While I personally love the KJV and fully agree with the problems of modern translations you listed, I have to disagree with the idea of the KJV bringing liberty. It was actually the anti-papal and anti-tyranny commentary included in the Geneva Bible that inspired quests fot greater liberty. In fact, it was because of those notes that King James I of England banned the Geneva Bible and “Authorized” a new translation that would exclude the comments he disliked. (Large portions of the KJV are actually almost word for word the same as the Tyndale, Coverdale, and Geneva Bibles). Keep in mind, the “King James” our Bible is named for is the same tyrant who threw the Pilgrims in prison for attending “Un-Authorized” Church meetings! So, while the Lord has mightily used the KJV for His puposes over the years, He’s also used preceeding English translations!

(John 8:32)@Pennelope,
No, I most definately do not believe the Patriot act is Constitutional and never have. We have had other NSA whistleblowers before Snowden who didn’t endanger our national security by releasing classified files on our non-domestic spying programs. Snowden did not need 1.7 million documents to prove something whistleblowers had already spoken out about.

@Mike from NY, The Constitution doesn’t limit the government’s ability to spy on foreign countries, it only secures the papers and effects of U.S. citizens. Secret FISA courts should not exist, and must be done away with. I am not saying Snowden directly helped ISIS, or was directly responsible for the Paris attacks! His publishing of classified intellegence on international spying helped everyone who’s hostile to us make it harder to track them. That includes Russia and ISIS. Does it make any sense that they would continue using the platforms they know we’re using to spy on them? What hard evidence of evation can exist other than simple logical deductions? Have a blessed day.

(2Tim 3:16) A Trump or Hillary Presidency is not a sign of God’s mercy but of judgement.
Pro 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
We should not rejoice that we are under judgement but rather repent, humble ourselves and cast ourselves on the mercy of God.
Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

(John 8:32)@pennelope,
Do you believe that Hillary Clinton was wrong for putting classified information at risk? If you do, then you cannot defend Snowden’s dumping of 1.7 million classified files in the same breath as you condemn Hillary for a similar crime. If you try to do so, it shows that you are inconsistent, and have a double-standard, and I’m obviously not going to change your opinion. Have a blessed day.

(John 8:32)@Mike from NY,
I understand your skepticism, so I have gathered a couple of article links for you. As I have said before, if he had only disclosed relevant information to the NSA’s unConstitutional domestic spying without warrants, and hadn’t ignored the law in the process, then that would be one thing. But he went beyond that, even leaking information which provided “precise details on how the U.S. tracks al-Qaiada”! Aside from that, he broke the law by downloading 1.7 million top-secret intelligence files to a portable USB drive. Such actions are illegal, and can be charged as espionage. How can one condemn Hillary for her illegal email server, which put U.S. intellegence at risk, yet defend the man who openly published the largest bundle of classified information in U.S. history? It doesn’t work.

(John 8:32)@Mike from NY,
Aside from China, the information he has leaked has reportedly provided aid to non-domestic Islamic terrorists, who no one can argue is not at war with us. If Snowden was worried about doing a service for his country, he could have limited his leaks to the unConstitutional domestic spying, rather than exposing our international operations which are not unConstitutional. Furthermore, he is being sheltered by Russia, a hostile country (sorry to burst your bubble, penned), and is being held by the former KGB!

@Pennelope,
If you believe Russia is our freind, then you’ve been “alt-righted”. Are you an Alex Jones follower?

(John 8:32)@Mike from NY,
There is a world of difference between the espionage we employ on hostile nations, and Russia’s attempts to mess with our election. China wants to destroy us as soon as they get a chance, so it is of imperitive importance that our millitary knows what they’re up to. And while we need to run inteligence on other countries, we don’t want to allow hostile countries to spy on us, and that is not hypocritical. It isn’t hypocritical for the same reason that shooting rockets on a battlefield, yet not wanting to be hit by enemy rockets isn’t. Espionage on American citizens is wrong and unConstitutional unless with a warrant, espionage on foreign countries is not. American espionage on both hostile nations and allies is literally as old as our country. You’re kidding yourself if you believe other countries don’t have international espionage programs.

(John 8:32)@Kev,
IMHO, Snowden was fine when he exposed the NSA’s unConstitutional spying on American citizens. Then he was a whistleblower. But after that point, when he exposed classified information on international espionage on enemy countries, he was a traitor dealing with the enemy.

@Mike from NY, On this one rare occassion, I agree with Jim Lincoln! Mark it down on your calenders! The fact is, Osama Bin Laden declared war on the U.S., Russia has long talked about us as an enemy, and China, one of the countries Snowden tipped off as you’ll note, has threatened us as well, . You can’t tell me these people are our allies!

Snowden is a traitor, not because he exposed NSA spying, but because he provided secret military information to other enemy countries. Such action is consistent with the definition of a traitor that you sight from the Constitution. Snowden provided aid to our enemies. It’s reported that international terrorists have used info provided by Snowden to make it harder for our government to spy on their communications.

I say we call whatever can be proved in a court of law, whatever the jury says it should be called. The concept of people being “innocent untill proven guilty” has been lost in a forest of shock and awe headlines, twitter tantrums, and disinformation from both sides. We’re supposed to have trials by jurys that are presented with the evidence- not trials by mob opinion fueled by partisan desires. It drives me nuts whenever I happen to see some 48 hours type show asking the audience to tweet them whether they think the alleged criminal is guilty. Nobody wants to be called up for real jury duty, but everyone seems to volunteer for the public opinion jury. Sad.

“Maybe all these mainstream hacks posing as legitimate news outlets should have their journalistic broadcast licenses suspended/revoked for their failure to properly process and report the news to the American people”
Let the government or a mob determine who is properly reporting the news? Absolutley not!! Better to have everyone be able to say whatever they want, then to have “controlled speech” from either the left or right.
This kind of idea is why both Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press are protected in the First Amendment.
Please take a long look at the horrors of the French Revolution and realize that that’s exactly where the type of thinking you have posted on this thread leads.

Personaly, I view it, not as "Christianizing" a worldly event, but rather as reclaiming a Christian event the world has "Worldlyized"! At any rate, since December 25th happens to be a Lord's day this year, I'm sure we will all be remembering His birth, life, and death that day; regardless of our various views on Christmas! Many Blessings to you, and have a wonderful day!
@ Kev

BTW, no matter when it happened, here is a neat article on how we picture the Lord's birth that I thought you would enjoy:
