While I’m glad he’s not “out to hurt” her (we’ve had plenty of experience with the current Administration “punishing their enemies”), and I agree that it would be rough on the nation- it isn’t for the President to determine whether she has “suffered enough”. If there is good reason to think that she broke the law, then she deserves to have her day in court; and if she is proven guilty then that court should determine what the just penalty is. No one is above the law.

Trump distancing himself from the Alt-Right is a very good thing! The term “Alt-Right” is derived from the website”AlternativeRight” that was started by the movement’s founder- Richard Spencer. Spencer is an open White Nationalist and is also the president of the group that hosted that “Hail Trump” fiasco. The former president of that group, while Spencer was vice president, said that he supported Obama for President, because he would create so much division, they would be able to re-shape the Republican party into a White Man’s party. That’s why it’s disturbing that Bannon said he wanted to turn Breitbart.com into a platform for the Alt-Right. I think most average folks don’t fully understand what the term “Alt-Right” stands for, but Bannon knows better. I would feel a lot better if he was not in the White House. It’s also interesting to note that many in the Alt-Right are promoting Norse Paganism.

I agree with your comment- though I would add that many of those immigrants didn’t directly assimilate, but tended to live near other immigrants with same cultural background, language, customs, etc. for at least one if not more generations.
I think it may help if I try to clarify my position- I fully recognize that some (though not all) of the people coming here as refugees likely wish to do us harm. I think we need far better vetting processes. I do not think that anyone has the “right” to come here, unless our Government says they can. However, once they are cleared and have legal status or citizenship then they have the same right to work and feed their families as we do. This is my point of disagreement with Penny- her argument is that “foreigners” (who were not smuggled over the southern border illegaly) are “stealing” jobs and should be prevented from getting jobs by average citizens. Besides the problem of how they would go about this “prevention”, what then do the foreigners do? Starve to death? Or go on the Government dole, so that instead of contributing taxes they are living off of our contributions? Furthermore, it is odd to see Penny (who always reminds us of the “comnst sweep”) embracing a Socialist/Communist perspective on the economy and t

As I said, I’ve no problem with extensive vetting. In fact, the vetting used at Ellis island would be woefully insufficient to properly vet people today! I was alluding to the massive amount of immigrants who came here at the turn of the last century. There were people back then who feared, as you have expressed nowadays, that those “foriegners” would “take their American jobs”. Yet they actually had a positive effect on our economy. Again, it is Communisim which teaches that there are a set amount of jobs that can be “stolen”. Furthermore, most Asian and South American countries are unstable Communist dictatorships who slap cuffs on you for reading a Bible- not exactly shining examples of “Truth, Justice, and the American way”. If someone breaks the law then they should be punished justly- not emotionally with a question of if they will “make it out”.

No citizens anywhere have the moral or legal right to prevent foreign immigrants from working to support their families and feed their children. That is plain wrong. Whether we think the vetting proccess is sufficient or not they have legal status (in many cases actual citizenship) and thus are entitled to equal protection under the law. “Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as fo

First off, I was referring to influxes of foreigners and their impact on the job market- not to vetting methods or lack thereof. Second of all, Penny only said “foriegners”. Refugees are legal immigrants from all over the globe, and even the portion that are from majority Muslim countries are not always Muslims thenselves. If we cut off immigration from some of these places then we have to recognize that we are also cutting off an escape route for fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are facing some of the worst persecution on earth.

Outrage over perverted justice is a good thing. Yet, in my opinion, the Church’s lack of outreach to Muslim refugees only makes assimilation less likely. If we assume they don’t want to assimilate, then I fear that we will create a self-fulfilling prophecy and make it easier for then to mentally de-humanize us “infidels”.

As a National policy issue this is very complicated with no easy answers and human lives at stake on both ends. But as a matter of dealing with those already here, the Church has it’s marching orders: Matthew 5:44, Leviticus 19:34, Matthew 25:35-40 (in regard to foreign siblings in Christ).

“its displacement of the indigenous.”
Seeing as we are talking about America- exactly who are the “indigenous” here?
Communism teaches that the economy is like a pie so that if one person has a larger piece it means someone else has a smaller piece. You are applying the same concept to jobs. There is not a fixed amount of jobs and even if there were, this idea would then undermine the doctrine of God’s Sovereignty.
“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” Psalm 50:10
American’s don’t wait for jobs to “come back”, they adapt and make new jobs for themselves, Lord willing. How did we survive the Industrial Revolution and all the foreigners who went through Ellis Island?

As for the horrific story at hand- the law should apply equally to everyone.

@Kev Thank you! I wasn’t sure if someone had already posted those verses, as the app only lets you go so far back in the comments. “Evangelize” seems like some one who needs our prayers.
@Conner I believe the second question is “How do you know what you’re saying is true?”. I used to have them set up as a scrolling screen saver on the computer to help me learn them!

You said: “Yes God can change His mind!”
God said:
“For I am the LORD, I change not;...”~ Malachi 3:6
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”~ James 1:17
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”~ Isaiah 46:9-10
A little hard to declare the end from the beginning if you might change your mind in the middle.

Our hands down favorite is the MySword Bible App! It’s 100% Free and uses a modular set up so you only download what you want or need and don’t take up space with bible versions or commentaries you won’t use! Its got the KJV, Geneva, Coverdale, Tyndale, Wycliffe, other English, and many Foreign translations; A Hebrew OT and Greek NT along with Strong’s and Thayer’s Lexicons; Matthew Henry’s Complete Commentary, as well as Gill’s, Adam Clarke’s, and others; Multiple dictionaries, including Smith’s Bible, and Webster’s 1828; Bible Atlases; Highlight, Bookmark, and excellent Search functions, as well as the ability to attach personal notes to verses!
@ Christopher000 They forget this portion of God’s actual Word:
“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” ~Deut. 18:20-22

This story reminds me of a Charismatic church in our area that split. A family attending there went through a divorce and one half of the church started to “prophecy” that the dad would get the kids, while the other half “recieved a word” that the mom was going to get them.

I’ve never liked Fatalism either- the idea that a cold, non-personal force blindly sets decrees regardless of who gets crushed along the way is a most un-Christian idea. Both Fatalism and Random Chance are Pagan concepts that deprive all life of meaning and purpose. What I am talking about is a Personal, Loving Father, Lord, and Righteous Judge of the Earth who does and ordains everything for a reason. Many times we may not know for certain the reason- but we do know that there IS one and that we can trust in the Absolute Goodness of the One who gives meaning to everything!
I did not mean to make it sound like the ONLY reasons were stretching or judgement, there are more. Those were just 2 examples. The Bible says that God causes it to rain where no man is. That would be simply for the good of His creation and His own Glory. Were the things that happened to Job just random events? It’s not like God only controls part of the Universe or that His plan is vulnerable to random Tornadoes. What if a random flood kills someone God had planned on using later in life?

Christians are already Justified. Sanctification will not be perfectly completed until Glorification. Therefore, it’s an on going proccess. All the unsaved live in rebellion. The Lord uses things like Tornadoes, Floods, Car Crashes, and many other tragedies for His own puposes. The same event can be used to both stretch and grow one person’s reliance on God, and to judge someone else who is living in rebellion to Him. The Lord controls weather events and they are not random:
“He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.” ~Psalms 78:47-48
“Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.” ~Psalm 135:6-7
“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.” ~Zechariah 10:1

“An open question to anyone. Much evil has been legislated in Washington as good. When a tornado rips through a Kansas town, why do people call it judgement?”
First off, at the individual level- For a Christian it would likely be a sanctification event. For a unsaved, drunken, blasphemer it could very well be judgement.
As for Washington- people talk all the time about how they work for us. If we continue to send them there after they have proven themselves to be unfit by any Biblical standard, then what does that say about us? With the stats on private immorality the way they are, is it any wonder that we vote in representitives who are simply a mirror image of our values? Should only the employees (i.e. The people we elect) face judgement, or should we the employers be held accountable too?

God hasn’t given any of the non-elect the Faith to become believers.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”~ Eph. 2:8-9
Saving Faith is the Gift of God- not the result of human works!
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Eph 2:5; Col 2:13
He didn’t say “Mostly Dead” or “Partly Alive” like Wesley in “The Princess Bride”.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
What part of that rebellious, decietful, desperately wicked heart wants a Holy God to be Lord and King over it?
Scripture clearly says that God chose us before the foundation of the world. What requirements were we meeting back then?
Also, Jesus didn’t consult Paul’s will when he struck him with blindness and Commanded him to go to Straight Street. Furthermore, He didn’t Ask any of the Apostles to follow Him. It was all imperitive Commands.
