Dr. Shelton Smith, President and Editor of the Sword of the Lord, summed up the position of American liberals (meaning Democrats) when he wrote, “They hate the Bible, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. They hate capitalism and free enterprise. They want the government to own everything and control everybody. They are clamoring for socialism without telling you that it is communism they will give you.”
The Christian’s response to liberalism should be the same as Billy Sunday’s stance on sin. That old firebrand said, “Listen, I'm against sin. I'll kick it as long as I've got a foot, I'll fight it as long as I've got a fist, I’ll butt it as long as I've got a head, and I'll bite it as long as I've got a tooth. And when I'm old, fistless, footless, and toothless, I'll gum it till I go home to glory and it goes home to perdition.” |
