Sermon:
Who Is Jesus
David Austin

“ Truth and error ”
That Jesus is the only way to heaven is indisputable. That a person gets saved by “giving his life to Jesus” is questionable at best. We don’t get saved by “giving” something to Jesus, but by receiving the free gift of eternal life that He offers to us. Terminology does matter.

And pray for Jim Lincoln while you’re at it. He’s clearly just as lost as his demonic heroes Biden and Harris.

Right on target, Florian. We need to start from scratch and create a new Conservative party with some guts and character.

The “right” gospel is Paul’s gospel (II Timothy 2:8), the gospel of God (Romans 15:16), the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1). That is the gospel that I preach, and I find that it works a lot better than a gospel that someone considers to be superior but doesn’t preach, just like a lit firecracker gets more done than an unlit stick of dynamite. If you honestly believe your gospel is better, then get out of the house and preach it. My Bible says that the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Real soldiers don’t sit around defending their swords. They wade into battle and swing them.

Jim, there is far more blood on your hands than on Donald Trump’s. You vote for candidates who advocate the unbridled murder of infants, and encourage other people to vote for them. I hope you are unable to sleep until you repent and cleanse your hands of this innocent blood.

According to the Bible, God uses PREACHING (I Corinthians 1:21) to save sinners. He doesn’t use debate. He doesn’t use intellectualism. He doesn’t use the power of “I’m-Right-and-You’re-Wrongism.” He uses the power of the gospel—Romans 1:16. I had the privilege of witnessing that power again a week ago today when I preached the GOSPEL , and six men came professing faith in Christ. It wasn’t my power—I don’t have any—but the power of the gospel that did it. For heaven’s sake stop all this thumb-sucking and bickering over the gospel and get out and PREACH it to someone. If you do it enough, some people will get saved—Psalm 126:5-6, II Corinthians 9:6. If you sit on your duff and argue about the gospel, you will never lead anyone to Christ.

Jim, I suppose you think Warnock is a more suitable “religious leader,” don’t you? A fellow who stands up for murderers of babies and police officers—yes, there’s a man any Christian should be proud to get behind. Just don’t get too close. He may run over your foot.

Jim is utterly and unequivocally opposed to preachers getting involved in any aspect of politics, Mike. Except, of course, black liberal baby-murdering preachers.

Yes, Neil, it was fairly common
in the past for fundamentalists to be Presbyterian. I doubt if you’d find many today, though, if any at all.
I don’t know that I would necessarily agree that many of what we consider the fundamentals of the faith are necessarily of the “reformed tradition.” Rather, they are of the biblicist tradition that existed prior to and concurrently with the Reformation.

Jesus is the Door, Ladybug. Our task as Christians is to help poor lost sinners get to the Door. It isn’t to debate how doors work. I’m through here, except to say to anyone who may be reading this that if you have a desire to be saved, God put that desire in your heart. God the Father is drawing you, the Holy Spirit is drawing you, and the Son of God says to you—yes, to YOU—“Come unto me, ALL ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give YOU rest.” Put your trust in Him now, and He will save you this instant. Jesus died to pay for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. He is alive forevermore and ready, willing and able to save all who will trust Him for salvation. God has promised eternal life to those who trust Jesus to save them, and He cannot lie. Rest today in His Son.

Neil, I thought I had said so. If I hadn’t, I’m saying so now. “Fundies” is a term frequently used by pseudointellectual Calvinists to poke fun at what they perceive to be the backward yokels who are so benighted as to believe that while there are some doctrines that are peripheral and leave some room for debate (e.g., election), others, such as the virgin birth and deity of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, the inspiration of scripture, etcetera, are fundamental to the Christian faith and therefore not to be debated or compromised. In, short, “fundies” is used by arrogant academicians to show what rubes they believe fundamentalists are, despite the fact that the “rubes” may actually have more education, a higher IQ and deeper knowledge of the Bible than they do.

Is trusting Jesus Christ as Savior a dead work, Ladybug? If so, Jesus and the apostles preached salvation by dead works continually. I trusted Jesus Christ to save me, and He did because HE SAID HE WOULD and God cannot lie. AND HE WILL SAVE ANYONE WHO TRUSTS HIM FOR SALVATION, and you can never, ever, ever disprove that. All who trust Christ alone for salvation are saved, and if they’re saved they’re elect. Stop trying to bar people from heaven and make a little effort to help them get in. That would be far more productive and pleasing to the Lord than incessantly debating online about the unfathomable mechanics (John 3:8) of salvation.

Neil, you fired the first volley of disrespect when you used the term “fundies,” a word I have told you before I find objectionable. And the correct answer is indeed “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,” nada mas, nada menos.

Funny comments from one who “trots out” the same few verses again and again to “prove” that God breathlessly awaits to cast people into hell.
Like I said, I’ll stick to the God of the Bible.
