If I understood what BXVI said to Hawkin, he was merely assuring the scientific community that, Bible-beater venom aside, there is no barrier between faith and science. A casualy reading of the article seems to imply that no discussion of "Evolution" was had, simply an attempt to build a commonality between two old adversaries. If Science is really after the Truth, which is something mankind must insist upon, then there should be no fear that Science will banish an honest belief in God. Faith says that God, "Did it!", and Science will one day show vaguely how it was done. The problem is a Faith that insists that it knows everything, when "all Knowlegde" is clearly beyond us, or a Science that forbids the possibility that Nature is ordered by an all powerful entity. God's ways are too vast to be contained even in as wonderful a book as the bible. Words fail to describe the glory of God. |

Scare Mongering? The Missouri State Attorney General promises to bring charges against anyone who "falsely" criticises Obama. Joe the Plumber is attacked and loses his job for standing up to Obama. Sarah Palin is trashed, humiliated sexually (the Letterman show), her family's life, her personal life, her mental ability, and her faith are made sport of and ridiculed on a daily basis thoughout the visual media. The Democrat Congress begins the long journey to destroy the 1st Amendment by promising to resurrect the "Equal Time" rule from 1947. Those who call Obama a socialist, or who don't evidence an inate enthusiasm for Marxist Hegemony are labeled "racist". Scott! Where is your head...man? As if I didn't already know! |

ADC: You Lie! Mit brennender Sorge (German for "With burning Concern,") is a RCC encyclical of Pope Pius XI, published on March 10, 1937 (but bearing a date of Passion Sunday, March 14). The encyclical criticized Nazism, listed breaches of an agreement signed with the Church and condemned antisemitism. Drafted by the future Pope Pius XII, who was in Munich at the time of Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch[1], it warned Catholics that the growing Nazi ideology, which exalted one race over all others, was incompatible with Christianity. Pius XI himself in more explicit terms had elsewhere condemned anti-semitism.[2] The encyclical was written in German and not the usual Latin of official Roman Catholic Church documents. It was addressed to German bishops and was read in all parish churches of Germany. Pope Pius XI credited its creation and writing to the Cardinal Secretary of State, Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, who later became Pope Pius XII. There was no pre-announcement of the encyclical, and its distribution was kept secret in an attempt to ensure the unhindered public reading of its contents in all the Catholic Churches of Germany. This encyclical condemned particularly the paganism of the national-socialism ideology, the myth of race and blood... [Wikipedia - "Mit Brennender Sorge"] |

Along with Scripture God give us the Church, not just a Church, but the Church founded by Jesus Christ. Jesus promised he would not leave us orphaned and he would send us the H.S., who would lead us to all truth. We see this guaranteed by him, when he gives Peter the ability to "bind and loosen", an ability which he did not give to Luther, Calvin, nor Knox. Thus, the RC is protected from serious theological error because of the direct protection of God himself. This is why there are over 25k Protestant Sects in the world and only one Catholic Church. We sit upon the 3-legged tool. One leg is Holy Scripture, one leg is Holy Tradition and one leg is the teaching Magesterium of the Church. Therefore, other Churches have no legs to stand on. |
