Review: The walking theology of Ephesians. The word occurs eight times in seven sentences.
You started out as a walking spiritually dead person, but you were made alive in Christ. God saved you so that you would walk in the good works He designs for you. He calls you to walk in a manner worthy of the position you have in Christ. You should walk in a manner that sharply contrasts with the way unsaved people walk. You mustwalk in love. You must walk as a child of Light. Your behavior should expose the darkness of those still dead in their sins. You must walk as a wise person. That command began the transition to the next subject, of walking by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now to the next command. Like a battery it has two poles, negative and positive. Like a fork, it has two tines to grip you tightly. Like a road sign, it tells you both Do Not Enter!, and This Way!
Ephesians 5:18: And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
