4 determined men attempt to set a man before Jesus to have him healed, but there is no way that they can get him in to the house where Jesus is, because of the great number of people there around him. So they go to the roof and tear off the tiles and lower the man in front of Jesus and then they wait for His response. He knew their hearts and minds, and He gave them great lessons in relation to how sins are forgiven and how eternal life was conveyed in such a way to bring him assurance of his salvation. This destroyed the wisdom of those who thought they were wise, but brought great encouragement to those who wanted to learn more.
