It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."
Eating improperly prepared Fugu will not defile the man in the sense of the above verse. It is however, a foolish thing to do and will cause a man to die before his time.

Nobody dies before their time. Or do you believe that God is less than sovereign?
In God's sovereignty, he wrote us a book telling us how to live and he says that if you behave wickedly or foolishly you may die before your time.

Where Mr. Wynn went to college:

"The dream of Milwaukee’s first Archbishop, Rev. John Martin Henni, to establish a Catholic, Jesuit College in Milwaukee was fulfilled in 1881 when Marquette College opened its doors to students."

Rufus, you and I disagree a bit on this. For example, when God calls a man to preach, he does not "bless his preaching anyway". If it is God's will that a man preach, he will bless him because it is his will to do so. If it is God's will that a 10 yr old girl witnesses to her aunty, her "ministry" will meet with success because she was called to do that....
It is the will of God that every man preach. It is not the will of God that every man be a bishop. Those that believe they have been called to be a pastor ought to do it decently and in order in compliance with God's word. I believe Mr. Spurgeon (and now Mr. Meadows) operated outside of God's word in not abiding by 1 Timothy 3. This doesn't mean God did not use Mr. Spurgeon and it does not mean he won't use Mr. Meadows.

Ah, you think I'm for the elimination of guns, because what I said, ]]Five myths about gun control. I suggest you read that. Yes, there are bans in many places on knives, because there is no National Knife Assn. to bribe law-makers on the use of them, or for that matter no pro-organization to allow fertilizer to be used as explosives. There are some moderate bans on that I believe, of course Congress spreads so much fertilizer around, one can't be certain about anything.
Rufus, you're better informed on Texas gun control laws than I am. They are probably ignored by many Texans anyway, so why didn't they shoot this fellow down in his tracks, if every Texan thinks he's a James Wesley Hardin? ...
I suspect you mean the murderer John Wesley Hardin? It is strange how some folks have an inability to distinguish between the lawful use of a firearm and the unlawful use of one. Equating Texans who would want to use a firearm for self-defense or in the defense of all these victims to a mass murderer lacks reason.

I will point this out to gun enthusiasts, that yes, "Guns don't kill people. People don't kill People," but this incident shows that if an automatic or assault rifle was involved with then it would probably be the case that many people would have died, including the people who stopped this fellow, ....
If less than an assault weapon was involved there would have been far fewer victims. If victim one (or a righteous bystander) had a weapon there would not have been victim two, if victim two had a weapon there would not have been victim three, if victim three had a weapon...etc. etc. etc.

Deuteronomy 32:35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
My comment on that thread was an effort (perhaps a lame one) to gently correct those dark comments.

protect them wrote:
A society which allows the murder of 20 innocent six year olds and does nothing about the access of guns on its streets is culpable of the evil of not protecting them.
Millions of schools all over the world do not have gun toting teachers to protect the children in their care. Your arguement is seen to be flawed by the experience of your own schools and schools of other nations.
Do something realistic to stop this regular American carnage, do something realistic to protect the children. Clearly as a "Christian" you do not trust God to protect your children perhaps you need to think this through.
God does not require nations to arm themselves to the teeth and make available such murderous tactics in a "civilised" society.
I trust the Word of God to protect my children and the Word told me to do the following:

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. - (Luke 22:36)

2.Caelian
3.Capitoline
4.Esquiline
5.Palatine
6.Quirinal
7.Viminal

Revelation 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
