I don't think it's a hypothetical question. Muslims all consider their book to be their 'sola scriptura' for all matters in life.
It is not just their religion but governs all matters in life.
They have a principle called 'taqqiyya' that allows them to deceive anyone if they think it helps promote their cause. So they can put their hand on your Bible and swear to 'tell the whole truth' and lie to you without any moral failing on their part.
Try reading the book, Sword of the Prophet by Serge Trifkovic, for more info on this, and check out ACT-the American Congress for Truth, for more current info.

Why don't they try this on the Muslims? Maybe they could try to open a branch in Pakistan, 99 percent Muslim, or Deerborn, Michigan, or Minneapolis, Minnesota, full of Somali Muslims that the wonderful Lutheran World Services helped settle (thanks to a generous payoff from the US govt, which means you and me taxpayers).
I have eaten a lot of bacon at men's prayer breakfasts, though I really prefer sausage.
(and must tell of the hilarious billboard for "South of the Border" that said, "you never sausage a place"

Weren't the Puritans the ones who controlled the Mass. Bay Colony? Didn't they make it a law that everyone had to go to church on Sunday; anyone who didn't was arrested and spent time in jail or paid a fine? Didn't they also persecute anyone who disagreed with them, including tarring and feathering Quakers? Some say they even crucified them.
I would study Murray Rothbard's history, Conceived in Liberty, to understand how they ran that colony and their enforced Christianity.
Now, let's move on to today: what is the results of all their teachings? Do you think of New England when you think of a strong, Bible-believing Christian community?
Remember that Harvard University was established as a seminary. Is it still one today? Does it teach a Bible-believing Christianity today?
Can you say the same for another seminary, like Dallas Theological SEminary?

Yes, things change over 200 or so years. Look at the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, etc. started by conservative capitalists but today fund a leftist agenda.

Far be it from me to cast aspersions on the lady's faith or church denominational beliefs (we can do that later, right?).
My initial reaction to the story was to look at it like a non-Christian would--they would ask, what does 'powerful testimony' mean?
They might think of a jury trial--that's where 'testimony' is usually heard.
But I realize that 'powerful testimony' is code language for many evangelicals (I think mainline denominational types like Episcopalians, Lutherans, Methodists, and Presbyterians, would not have any idea what it means, no moreso than any pagan you find on the street) to mean something totally different.
As to non-Christians coming to this website to read the comments on news--good luck with that! I would hope they would look first at most downloaded sermons, or Sermon Picks recommended by the website.
I do not think many show up here, so this is mostly a discussion 'between us girls.'
If you doubt this, then ask yourself this question: how often have I gone to a Muslim website to read how Muslims interpret the recent news about Trump, the Pope's visit to Cuba, etc.? Have I gone to a Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormon or Seventh Day Adventist website for any reason at all?

too bad the discussion could not have been about Christ!
discussions about Christianity as another religion are useless.

First, consider the source: WND.com = World Nut Daily.
Second, consider the words: 'powerful testimony' what does that mean? did many people in jail with her become Christians because of the power of her testimony? Or was it just said loudly so all could hear it (and scoff at her)?

If you were on a jury, and heard a 'powerful testimony' during the trial, would it help convince you, or would you consider other evidence presented during the trial?

A friend told me of his experience of being in a jury; they heard evidence that later found out--years later--was valid, but the majority of the jurors went against it.

By the way, let me encourage each and every person living in the US to not turn down the opportunity to serve on a jury. It is possibly the only chance in your life that your single vote will matter.

I think the issue of vaccination has been debated regularly here, due to the confusion caused by a law firm that stands to earn millions of dollars from 'proving' a link between autism and vaccinations.
In the meantime, I did a quick search at the Center for Disease Control from Atlanta, Georgia (sorry, Braves fans, for that loss last night, but 11 runs ain't bad). They say this about measles around the world:

Measles is still common in other countries. The virus is highly contagious and can spread rapidly in areas where people are not vaccinated. Worldwide, an estimated 20 million people get measles and 146,000 people die from the disease each year—that equals about 400 deaths every day or about 17 deaths every hour.

So, if you want your child to get the vaccination, you are deliberately setting them up for a chance to die that is: 146,000 divided by 20 million = 0.0073, or a 7 out of a thousand chance.

I forgot to mention: check the source of this news article: Mother Jones, a very liberal publication.
I haven't seen it on any other source, but then that brings up the nearly non-stop coverage of the Pope's visit that the news media has been giving us.

I beg the pardon of the previous 2 posters for interrupting with a post that has something to do with the story at hand: Philadelphia, shutting down for the Pope's visit, Starbucks having to stock extra supplies.
Let's go point by point:
1. Philadelphia-city of brotherly love. Is that what you think of when you think of it? How about the Eagles? the Phillies? Not good teams by any stretch of the imagination.
2. Shut down city: this happens for any large festival in any city. Question: who is going to pay the bill? Will the businesses get more money and thus pay more local taxes that make up the difference?
3. Starbucks stocking up: makes sense. Guys who rent refrigerators to them are happy. Remind me to buy more stock in Starbucks.

More interesting is this question: what percentage of the city is Catholic?

I had to check the source of this story, first, because, judging from all the news coverage of his visit, global warming and immigration were the main reasons for his visit, and on both counts he agreed completely with the current Administration views.
Previous to his US visit, in his visit to Cuba, he said nothing about the lack of political freedom there, or the economic system there that keeps so many poor. It's not wonder Cuba has no immigration problem--no one wants to go there!
It's obvious to one and all that the Pope is a leftist in the mold of Argentina's Juan Peron. Of course, it should be no wonder that a man who heads a huge organization can only see problems solved by huge organizations like the US govt. When the only tool you have is a hammer, you think you can use it to solve all your problems!

Let's not forget what President George Bush said of it--it is a religion of peace.
Thus, if a few hundred get killed in their insane practices, it's no problem.
By the way, during the Pope's visit to Cuba or Washington, DC, I didn't hear of anyone getting killed.

I hope it was a KJV Bible that he waved around. Of the dozen or so regular posters on this website, that could be a decisive factor in their support of Trump.
I think he has brought out many people who would not think of voting for someone like Governor Rick Perry of Texas (oh, that's right, he's out) or Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin (oh, that's right, he's dropped out, too).
I heard Senator Rubio say in an interview on the Townhall radio show that Trump had done some good by bringing to the forefront various issues.
Trump also illustrates the fact that politics is a rich man's game. Rubio, for example, is supported by a car dealer from Miami, Norman Braman (no, I don't think he sells diesel VWs that violate Clean Air Act standards when they are not being tested). Name the other candidate and 'follow the money' to see who is in control.
On the other hand, politics is an arena that makes Ordinary Joe feel important--people are asking for his vote--when the reality is that his vote counts for no more than the dead person that is still on the rolls, or the drunk down the street who wakes up on Election Day and stumbles into the polling station.
