Hi Brethren, For the record: No church is required to submit for 5013c status. The church is automatically free under our constitution. All gifts given to a free or un-incorporated church are tax-free. The government can make no law imposing upon the free-church in America. 5013c is a privilege you apply for, not a right. If you are a 5013c church, then Christ is not the Head of your church. The US government is the head of your church. Technically speaking, your non-profit exists for the public good. Thus you cannot even claim that your God is above another religion's god. So the next time you look at your pastor in the pulpit, and see the US flag on stage, understand. Our 5013c churches are no better off than the officially recognized Chinese state churches that have a picture of chairman Mao next to the Christian flag. Your pastor is not a pastor of a church, but he is the CEO of your non-profit. That is why you have a business meeting with the board. And if anything goes wrong with the 5013c entity, then the government can take their property back, imprison your pastor and trusties, and all members of the church if they wish to do so. ou can not plead ignorant of not knowing what you can do or can't do as a non-profit.
