The KJB says, For the time will come when they will not endure sound DOCTRINE; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears FROM THE TRUTH, and shall be turned UNTO FABLES. - (2 Timothy 4:3-4)They are being turned from sound DOCTRINE, not teaching, as these modern perversions say. Doctrine here is the Word of God, the Gospel; it is something that exists. Teaching gives the impression of something you do, showing actions. The opposite of sound doctrine is to be turned from the truth, a fable. The word 'teaching' can be a truth or a fable. Doctrine is always 'truth'. |
