If people could go to heaven by being good, then God the Son leaving heaven to become a Man, to die on the cross after His Father's wrath was poured out upon Him for our sins, was for NOTHING!

Gal. 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I only wish my dad would have disciplined me more. I lived a life of sin for 39 years before the Lord, in His Mercy, saved me. Lack of discipline allows a person to become more and more wicked. I personally know.

My little boy was a year and a half when I got saved. I didn't discipline him before I got saved, and frankly he was becoming a little terror. When I got saved and trusted in God's Word, I immediately began spanking my son when necessary out of love, not anger. He went from almost a little monster to a little boy, 6 yrs. old, that people think is sweet. I love him dearly.

As one who was lost for so long thought that if you spanked your child then you do not love them. This is basically what the world says. God says the exact opposite.

Prv 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

As a Christian, I choose to believe God over man. And I have seen the blessings because of this.

"...we are not using our gifts and trusting God's Providence" - Article

What about trusting God's Word? When they say "science," what do they mean? Are they talking about testable, repeatable experiments done in a lab, or presupposing the past based on the present?

If a person says that Christianity and evolution are compatable, they need to explain how there could be death before sin. If man was created on day 6 as the Bible clearly says, how can we be basically an accident that took long enough to finally work? Exod. 20:11 says God created everything in 6 days and rested the 7th. You cannot choose to believe one part of the Bible and deny another. Either it's all true, or none of it is true.

If modern scientists cannot create life in the highest technilogically advanced laboratories, in a highly-controlled environment, how do you suppose it happened all on its own by random chance?

Try answersingenesis.org. A very good website, and a ministry I praise the Lord for for allowing me to see the truth and to come to saving knowledge in Christ.

"So, on this day, let us commit our spirit to the pursuit of a life that is true, to act justly and to love mercy and walk humbly with the Lord." -Obama.

To read all of Obama's speech in the article is very amazing considering all of the policies that he has implemented since taking office. He says above that we are to pursue a life that is true. But everything that is contrary to God's Word is a lie. What about marriage between one man and one woman for life? What does this man say?

If Obama believes in loving mercy, what about all the lives that are ended because of the misbelief that a woman has the right to choose to kill? Isn't this the abortion on demand he so openly wants all women to be able to have? Where's Mercy in this?

It seems that the risen Lord seemed to have this man also in mind when He said,

"Mt 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me."

The Lord Jesus also said, "Mt 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

May God have Mercy on this man.

Here's a new idea for these churches who resort to gimmicks to attract a crowd...

Try prayerfully, reverentially, and expositionally preaching the Word of God. If that doesn't work, change the name of your church to "Walmart." The ones I ever went into in the States seemed always to be packed with people.

Mt 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

This sentence from the article is Biblically flawed. A homosexual cannot be struggling with their faith, they are struggling to have any faith at all.

"1Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

An active homosexual is not saved, but in God's great MERCY they can be. Even in Corinth homosexuals who willfully chose that lifestyle, as all homosexuals do, did get saved.

"1Cor 6:11 And such were some of you..."

I've many times here in the Philippines seen people laugh at homosexuals. I've told others not laugh at them, but in love tell them what the Lord truly says about their sin in His Word. There is hope for all sinners, only in Christ.

"2Cor 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men"

If this really were a Biblical-Christian church, then they would see the evil about taking members of the church before lost judges.
1Cor 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?1Cor 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?1Cor 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?1Cor 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.1Cor 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?1Cor 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
As soon as you start leaving the truth of God's Word (ie. still claiming sign gifts when God's Word is complete), a person and church will resort to being more and more like the world.

A Muslim woman here in the Philippines asked me if I have ever read the Koran and considered its teachings. I told her I have read some of it and sincerely informed her...
"Your god, the god of the Koran, tells you that if I do not convert or pay respect to your religion you are commanded to kill me. My God, the God of the Bible, commands me that no matter what you say about Him or do to me, I AM TO LOVE YOU." - "Thus, your god is not the same as my God."

My prayer for this Muslim woman, and all whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of is...

It's very simple to understand why the professor was so offended...

The only miracle for full sainthood that is needed is for one to repent of their sins and place their trust only in Christ for the payment of their sin debt, by faith alone. Only in Christ, not in a church, can one be a saint. - "Col 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse:..."

It's a sad thing to see people spend their whole lives thinking that they are serving God, but only find out that they have been deceived by the evil one.

Living in the predominantly Catholic country of the Philippines, by God’s grace I get to share the Gospel to many. I often ask people if we are saved by good works or by grace. Eph. 2:8-9 says that we are saved by grace and not by works. Titus 3:5 says it is not by works either, as well as much of Galatians. I ask people, “Why did Christ die?” They will say for our sins. I will ask them if it was for all our sins or not. They mostly say, “Yes, for all our sins.” I then say, “If Christ died for 100%, or all of our sins, what can you add to 100% to get to 100%? If you believe Christ died for all of your sins, then He did all the work Himself. There is nothing to add to it." When Christ said, “It is finished,” you must believe there’s no more to be done. If you believe you must do religious works also, then you don’t truly believe Christ at all.

1John 1:7b ...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. The blood of the Son of God cleanses us from our sins, nothing else. Salvation comes down to whether you believe Christ did it all, or He didn’t. God’s Word said He did. If you say anything else, your problem is with God, not man. The Lord Jesus Himself said, John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. In love of Christ

Living in the Philippines which is predominately RCC, it is sad to see all those folks that have nothing give to those who have much, only in the material not spiritual sense.

It is a burden on anyone's heart born from above by the Spirit of God, by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, to see such a sad display of deception.

When money is given by the poor or the wealthy for the likes of baby baptisms that have no spiritual value and to get dead relatives out of a place that does not exist, it is a sad thing for a Christian to see.

The Good News is that God is saving those who were RCC and other false religions all the time in the Philippines.

God's Word alone is sufficient to take a pathetic drunk such as I was, seeing his condemned state before a Holy God, and crying out for mercy depending only on the one-time perfect sacrifice of God the Son, Jesus Christ.

When one is "cleansed by the blood", and only "by the blood", will their eyes ever be opened.

Ps 49:6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;Ps 49:7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for hims 49:8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever
