Another example of the terrible state of American leadership coming out of Washington. This is just like Obama saying the other day that we are living in the safest, most tolerant time in history.

It is time for new leadership that doesn't live in such a ridiculous state of denial and apparently living in a different state of reality that would get folks who don't belong to the class of the politically elite locked up in a psychiatric institution for holding the same views.

The definition of psychosis is a person who loses touch of reality and believes that their fantasy is real.

The Supreme Court judges have basically nullified the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The arguments that have been stated in different ways in the news are that it is okay for a person to believe what ever they want, but it is not okay if they want to act on that belief. This makes the 1st Amendment meaningless if people actually buy in to that kind of argument.

Not surprising that Obama and Mormons are meeting together. Both hold the same views. They both hate the Person, Words and Works of the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

“ Agree ”
I agree with the statements made concerning Lent. I would love to see the Berean pastors having a discussion of the place of regular fasting (and prayer) in the believer's life. Sometimes I think that we as modern Christians are willing to eschew many religious traditions - for the sake of not seeming religious. But yet we often skip some completely.

God is such a generic term these days. Those who believe in the God of the Bible and are His disciples will fear Him and seek to honor Him with their lives. People want the blessings of God, without owing any allegiance, obedience, or sacrifice.

“ Another sign of cultural shift... ”
I understand why it may appear that this quote was taken out of context. But let us examine the context. He was talking about making sure that daycare was available and affordable to all - so mothers could be part of the workforce. He was constrasting staying at home to raise your kids (presumably, when they are young) because you can't "afford to work" (childcare costs are so high that it is not worth it). It IS an attack on the choice of staying at home with your children, because it is presumed that staying home and raising your babies and young children is not important work and worth the loss in education/pay that would have resulted in staying in the workforce during those years. Loving, nurturing care by parents is CRUCIAL in the proper physical, emotional, and spiritual development in our children. No paycheck can be worth more than that.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Very good commentary. Thank you for addressing this. While the people will probably always be debating the values/dangers of vaccines, I think as Christians we can all agree that using aborted babies as ingredients is wrong. I would say that it is an abomination before The Lord.

A new attack, inspired by the same source. Her mother said, "She was someone different during the attack." http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/06/09/mother-attacked-by-daughter-says-slender-man-could-be-to-blame/?intcmp=HPBucket

“ Disturbing ”
In the West, where we often deny the existence of the supernatural, this is probably how a manifestation of demonic influence is seen. Just think about cultures in Africa or Asia - is it not obvious the demonic influence in those cultures? It just seems more obviously spiritual because people there believe in spirits.

From the article:
“The sad truth is that there are many bishops and priests in our church who do not really believe in the Devil,” said the Rev. Gabriele Amorth, the 89-year-old priest...

The sad truth is that they don't trust in Christ alone by faith alone for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life either.

God does answer the prayers of His people. May the Lord grant men of God, who are not afraid to make a stand for God's Word, to be elected to the government offices of the United States!

Dan. 4:32 ...until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

There is no thing as a homosexual Christian. Anyone who lives in an unbroken pattern of habitual sin is not a Christian according to God's Word.

Mt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Those whose lives are characterized as habitually sinful have never had a personal relationship with the God of the Bible. It's very sad that people claim to be homosexuals and Christians at the same time. They have a false hope that keeps them from repentance and complete dependence upon Christ by faith alone to save them from the sins they falsely claim God doesn't mind.

The 'god' that told her to open up a pot shop is not the God that she thinks.

2Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Bill - this is very interesting. This Scientology compound was in San Jacinto (ha-SIN-toe), just about a 1/4 mile behind the field of my neighborhood growing up. It was heavily guarded and gated, and I never saw anyone going in or coming out. C. Witt

“ Thank you for discussing this ”
I believe that correctly "training your child in the way he should go," includes your child developing a personal reverence and fear of the Lord - thereby understanding His prerogative to dictate boundaries for how we live our lives. It is not legalism. In modern culture, we talk often of love and even the Gospel. But what of reverence, fear of The Lord (which gives wisdom), and surrender of our lives (including actions, not just our hearts)?
