I wonder if similar sentiments weren't expressed when the first machine printed Bible came out.
I wonder when did God need to resort to pragmatism to get his word to the young people?

This book is in no way intended to replace the Bible...
"The Almighty Bible is a new bible series that combines the fastest growing book format for young people (Graphic Novels) with the newest technology (iPad/Phone App), CREATING A BIBLE FOR TODAY'S KIDS AND TEENS."

I may be from Louisiana, but don't that kinda blow your statement out of the water?
God already has a Bible for kids and teens,it is Holy Spirit inspired, not inspired by modern entertainment.

Thank you John, As I've stated in another thread,I have lots of Bible versions in my closet. It's like I heard Paris Reidhead say in a sermon," I happen to have a KJV. No I don't happen to, I CHOOSE TO HAVE A KJV."

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it
The Holy Bible (Jer.6:10)

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
The Holy Bible (Jer.6:16)

I don't believe in making a comic book out of the word of God. The writer of Hebrews called God's word a two edged sword, not a modern-day feel good book. If the sword is continuously dulled and "dumbed down" eventually it will become of no effect to whoever reads it.

Not to change this interesting discussion at all. But I want to ask a question that I would like to get as many views on as possible.
How do you Ladies/Gentlemen feel about the subject of marking in the Bible? (e.g.underlining,highlighting,writing notes in the margins, etc.) Any and all answers will be appreciated.

BTW I posted here because this seems to be the most active thread.

Jim,I may not have a theological degree, but what I do have is a closet filled with modern versions, including the NASB and numerous others.I purchased all these versions because I wanted something easier to read than the KJV.Needless to say,I came back to the KJV,finding that it's not that hard to understand if you ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.

If history teaches us anything, it teaches us that the lukewarm Christian is not so much at danger in times of heresies but the passionate one is. Just as it is usually the sincere and intelligent and spiritual seeker who is more in danger from a cult than an apathetic unspiritual wordly man. Nobody knowingly joins a cult - they join what they think is the way and the truth. As A W Towzer said: ‘Strange as it may seem, the danger today is greater for the fervent Christian than for the lukewarm and the self-satisfied. The seeker after God’s best things is eager to hear anyone who offers a way by which he can obtain them. He longs for some new experience, some elevated view of truth, some operation of the Spirit that will raise him above the dead level of religious mediocrity he sees all around him, and for this reason he is ready to give a sympathetic ear to the new and the wonderful in religion, particularly if it is presented by someone with an attractive personality and a reputation for superior godliness.’ (The rest of the article on testing the spirits is here http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/04/23/how-to-try-the-spirits/ )

There have been 226 comments on this thread, and I believe that 220 or more have not been about the special stamp for our beloved KJV.

I wonder if this is one of those examples of "jobs Americans refuse to do." That the supporters of illegal invaders, will use to justify some more job opportunities for their amigos from the south?
BTW, Makes me proud, that the hardhats are taking a stand against building the mosque. This statement lends support to the victim's families, who have suffered enough.

"By their fruits Ye shall know them",kind of obvious, when a person stands in front of a group of people and mocks the word of God,as he did, back in `06,I believe. Tells a lot about what his "faith" is.
BTW, does anyone know what happened to Robert,"Bozo the spokesman," Gibbs? I wonder if they put him in "time-out" after his latest open mouth insert foot episode?

For a group of atheists who claim there is no God. These people certainly spend a lot of time and money fighting against something, that they say DOESN'T EXIST.
One more thing that I noticed is,they don't care about honoring the fallen troopers, being they don't offer an alternative to the crosses, all they care about is trying to wipe-out any mention or symbol of God in our society. Again,it's almost laughable, the "any lengths" these folks go,to protest a God,that to them is nonexistent. Brings to mind Psalm 2

Do not seem to have Greek equivalents there.
1139 δαιμονίζομαι [daimonizomai /dahee·mon·id·zom·ahee/] v. Middle voice from 1142; TDNT 2:19; TDNTA 137; GK 1227; 13 occurrences; AV translates as “possessed with devils” four times, “possessed with the devil” three times, “of the devils” twice, “vexed with a devil” once, “possessed with a devil” once, and “have a devil” once. 1 to be under the power of a demon. Additional Information: In the NT, these are persons, afflicted with especially severe diseases, either bodily or mentally, (such as paralysis, blindness, deafness, loss of speech, epilepsy, melancholy, insanity, etc.) whose bodies in the opinion of the Jews demons had entered, and so held possession of them as not only to afflict them with ills, but also to dethrone the reason and take its place themselves; accordingly the possessed were wont to express the mind and consciousness of the demons dwelling in them; and their cure was thought to require the expulsion of the demon.
Strong, J. (1996). The exhaustive concordance of the Bible (G1139).

I hope this helps,it is what's in my Bible.

Anyone bothering to read this will probably be as shocked as I was to learn what's being done with U.S. taxpayer's money overseas. It is incredible, the blatant unconstitutional misuse of funds.
While back here at home, every opportunity is taken to wipe-out any and every reference to God. This religious intolerance toward Christianity grows more prevalent every day. While those in power tell us how we need to be more tolerant and understanding of other religions.
The 1st amendment clearly states that the government has no business building mosques or Islamic religious schools in foreign countries.
And NO I'm NOT Islamophobic. Just because I stand against something, doesn't mean I'm afraid of it.
