Catholic universities aside, these students are brain-washed and racist themselves. Demanding that 50% of required readings in curriculum be minority authors is arbitrary nonsense. And it is naive to think that demanding this will improve student outcomes, especially when you here the blatant racial bias against Whites by the many minority commentators in the media and podcasts. Instead of a racial Fahrenheit 451 against White authors professors should be mindful to emphasize what is common in all of humanity. To see the absurdity of these students' demands they should encourage the same thing happen in the universities in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Congo.

To answer Douglas Fir's question this was taken from abortion73.com:

"The CDC reports that during the 1970's, roughly 24% of all U.S. abortions were performed on black women. That percentage rose to 30% in the 1980's, 34% in the 1990's and has held at 36% throughout the 2000's. That means that about 31% of all U.S. abortions since 1973 have been performed on African American women. Based on the January 2018 estimate that there have been 60 million abortions in the United States since 1973, we can deduce that well over 18 million of them were performed on black babies. As of July 2017, the black population in the U.S. stood somewhere around 40 million, which means that abortion has reduced the size of the black community by more than 30%—and that doesn't include the children and grandchildren that would have been born to those aborted more than a generation ago."

I say that Ms. Sanger has been successful in America. And her prodigies in the Democratic Party want to pick up where Obama left off, not only here in America but also in Africa.

The sad thing is hardly anyone cares. Tsk tsk and a shake of the head is not enough. "And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts."
(Rev 9:21)

Jim, I understand the rational of your last verse but I do not agree. I seriously doubt that the majority of any nation will ever be saved; even if everyone is persuaded to profess to be Christian. There is a reason that abortion exploded in 1973; it was made legal. And before that, illegal abortions such as so-called "back alley" abortions were no where as numerous as proponents say. The only sure way to reduce abortions in any nation is to outlaw it as violating the right to life a human being (murder). And applying stiff penalties of real jail time to everyone who participates from the parents on down through those who actually perform the abortions both professional and nonprofessional who claim to practice medicine. Also, jail and/or stiff fines for companies and individuals that manufacture drugs that induce abortions or harm the unborn child or pregnant mother.

I feel so strongly about this that I believe any nation that freely sanctions abortion should be labelled as a genocidal regime to its people; and be subject to everything from strong economic boycotts to even inducing a civil war or military invasion to save the lives of its innocent citizens. However, in America all it takes is elections and repentance of the do-nothing members of Christ's body.

That's not coming from me. I've been instructed to "speak the truth in love." I will not participate in their fraud nor encourage them in their sin. Thus, I will be respectful and polite and ask them their name; and use that in my conversation with them. So if the bearded man wants to be called "Alice" I will call him Alice. If the boy named Sue wants to be called "Sue" then I will call him Sue.

Pete doesn't has no chance of becoming Prez, but someone popular like Ellen would have a much greater opportunity because she is a celebrity. We know some of the Bushes may vote for her.

Corporate purpose
“To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.” (copied from corporate website)

For a business that espouses such a motto should be careful how it should "glorify God." At the least, their new stance emboldens other enemies of Christ to bully other businesses that seek to "glorify God" in what they do. Most are not as large as Chick-fil-a and will be marginalized and crushed by the enemy.

They should read what the Apostle John wrote to Gaius, the owner of inn that welcomed traveling saints: "Beloved, you practice faithfully whatever you have worked toward the brethren and toward strangers; who testified to your° love* in the sight of the congregation*; whom you will do well, having sent onward worthily of God. For* they went forth on behalf of the Name, taking nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to receive those who are such, in order that we should become fellow workers for the truth.
(3Jn 1:5-8)"

“ Great Sermon! ”
Both the article and the comments of the elders were good and candid. As a Black believer I agree that the first obligation is to preach the Gospel. I would add that some type of written or oral statement be given to addresses the local congregation's stance in view of the overall community in which their members belong to. Ambiguity when it comes to race is a tool for the adversary. The elephant in the room that was not addressed is that in most areas in America Christ is indeed divided racially; and if that is in your community then both sides are at fault. For Christ's sake, His body should not be divided like a chicken into white and dark. Remember: We have been given the ministry of Reconciliation. This is something that not only should be done but must and can be done for only the Body can do this. Don't confuse the Body with American citizenry. Let's get it straight in our own congregations first. Actions must be done by all leaders by both bodies by visiting and welcoming brothers and sisters from other congregations. Finally, don't despise or judge how racial culture forms a local congregation's worship. In the Psalms are songs that require silence, exuberance, physical action, loud noise, tears, and even anger. If it is not your "thing" then don't participate.

Samuel Cathy saw this coming.

"And I hated all my labor in which I labored under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will be after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all my labor in which I have labored and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity. Therefore I turned around to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor in which I had labored under the sun. Because there is a man whose labor is with wisdom and with knowledge and with skillfulness, yet he will leave it to a man who has not labored in it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
(Ecc 2:18-21)"

Aww, come on. Don't let little facts like these muddy the waters of impeaching Trump. And to bring Latvia into this. Tsk, tsk, tsk! And Kerry (gasp!). They make it sound like the Democrats had an international shake down of squeezing countries troubled by Russia; and we all know that all Democrats are lily-white innocent because these things hasn't been reported in the media outlets that we all should trust (i.e. NPR, MSNBC, CNN, NYTIMES, Washington POST, BBC and so on, and so on, and scooby-dooby-dooby).

This man speaks with forked tongue. What he says in public is very different of what he says behind closed doors. Isn't this the original Mr. Hope & Change man? His 8 years of change has done irreparable damage to the government and culture of America. And he is still the master puppeteer of much of what the Democrats say and do politically. A megalomaniac like no other.

Not to take anything away from this for I am sure he is worthy of his degree but his fellow peers of 2019 can not compare with those of 1969 (50 yrs ago). Today's kids may have more sophisticated means of learning but we got much more from what we paid into from education than we do now. To prove that "Wisdom is evident of her children" they would never have accepted someone like AOC as an example of a leader. Nor be afraid to engage with or seek psychological counseling when someone who doesn't agree with them gives another point of view.

I am very angry at this verdict; and I promise not to sin. It is not enough to murder babies but sell their body parts to the highest bidder to finance their luxurious lifestyles. And WE allow this because we refused to be good citizens and give these babies a voice. To me, it is hypocritical to come to the rescue of a little child being violently accosted by a man across the street and ignore the over 3000 murdered everyday in hospitals and clinics. Organizations like Center for Medical Progress and the legal groups that protect them really need our support. These are babies. These... are... babies!

"Seven percent of pro-choice respondents said abortion should be illegal in all cases and 5 percent said it should be illegal in most cases."

The last half of that response tells me that many people have no idea what they believe or they want to be pro-choice because the want to join the majority.

I firmly believe that "pro-life" leaves some ambiguity on what exactly is killed. Luke, the medical doctor (Colossians 4:14) and historian, declares that when Mary greeted Elizabeth, “the babe” (John) leaped in her womb (Luke 1:41; cf. 44). The Greek word here employed by Luke is brephos. It is a term that is used in the Greek New Testament to denote either a pre-born or post-born child.

Unlike some modern religionists, who support the notion that the entity within the womb is a mere blob of tissue to be disposed of at will, the inspired writers of the Bible consider the unborn human to be a child in every sense of the word — as much a “baby” as a newborn infant. He or she is not just a fetus; there is a child in the mother’s body.

I always use "baby" when it comes discussing abortion; "baby" rather than "life" is more to the point.

Still, I understand that most know what exactly is being murdered. Those who are shamed to say what it is will get shamed when they say "Lord

Get a spine Church and leave these two propaganda machines of antichrist. They are getting far too much of our face time. People tend to reflect the nature of that which they watch the most. Let's turn our faces back to Christ and His Word; and be transformed and not conformed.

I applaud their efforts but I disagree with their solution for the whole of illegal immigrants. I can affirm and am a witness that a small percentage of illegal immigrants are true believers. Nearly 15 years ago our church in NC had a family of illegal immigrants (5 in number) become a part of our congregation. The parents had overstayed their visas and the children were well into our culture. Most of the congregation felt something like these evangelicals and felt that they keep a low profile and stay. I did not (and took a lot of flak). I went to the father and persuaded him to go to a judge. He did and was told he and his family had to leave. The vast majority church leaders wanted him to continue a low profile. I went to the father again and talked to him to seek the Lord as to the righteousness of him obeying or disobeying the authorities. After prayer, he decided to take his family back to Nicaragua. Now he is a pastor of a growing church there (and need your prayers).

If the American church truly want to help them then do it individually (through the church) support poor illegals and encourage those who have become members of the Body to do the right thing. Become their advocate and character witnesses when their cases go to court. But DO NOT aid and abet criminals.
